On September 19, 2009, some of Kyle's friends will be participating in the girlygirl P.A.R.T.S™ (Pre-Screening Awareness Required To Silence...Ovarian Cancer) 5K Run/Walk for Ovarian Cancer in honor of Kyle Sweet. Kyle valiantly lost her battle to ovarian cancer on March 5, 2009, but her vision for raising awareness to this disease lives on within each one of us.

Ovarian cancer is a silent predator, which is why we must make all the noise we can. The reason ovarian cancer is often called the "disease that whispers" is because the early warning signs often mimic other common conditions. By the time most women get the diagnosis of ovarian cancer, the disease is usually in the late stages with poor prognosis. Girlygirl P.A.R.T.S™ has partnered with Dana Farber Cancer Institute to provide information relating to ovarian cancer and to increase awareness to this "silent" disease. This is the first fundraiser for this organization and all monies raised will provide the initial funding towards molecular science research in search for an ovarian cancer screening test.

Your support in donating to Team Kyle Sweet gives hope to thousands of women; our mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends, who currently battle ovarian cancer, and to thousands more who don't even know they will. Kyle so eloquently wrote, "Those of us fighting this monster are frustrated by the silence, the whisper of this disease." Please join us in raising awareness and finally changing the "whisper" to a "voice."

Your tax-deductible donation can be made on-line CLICK HERE

We realize that this is a tough economy, but if you are inclined, and able to give, we thank you in advance for your generous support and assistance in raising awareness to this disease.

Bands from all different genres of music including hard rock, southern rock, blues, christian and pop will come together to perform at this very special event. Performing all acoustic sets will be the all female rock band Jaded, MASS lead vocalist Louis St. August and guitarist Gene D’Itria. Boston’s hard rock legends MASS have had numerous accomplishments over the years, but most notably is the selling of over 500,000 albums worldwide!

In 1985, the band was signed to RCA records and released the album, “New Birth.” The single, “Do You Love Me,” was number one for over six weeks at many radio stations along the east coast. The video for that single was also in rotation on MTV and hit Billboard’s charts.

In 1987, MASS was signed to Enigma records and released their album, “Take You Home.” In 1988, MASS released “Voices in the Night,” which was produced by Michael Sweet of Stryper.

In the Spring of 2000, MASS released “Mass Best Ones” on fore reel Records. In 2002, MASS returned to the studio once again with Stryper’s Michael Sweet to record two new songs titled “It’s You” and “Empty Soul”. In 2004, “Empty Soul” was featured on Melodicrock.com compilation CD. In July 2007, MASS released “Crack of Dawn” via Escape Music. Look for a brand new MASS record in 2009!**
