Current mood:cantankerous old man
Category: Life
So yeah just felt the urge to blog. This is an unusual feeling for me. As I cannot keep up with a blog for shit.  Anyone remember when I made a blog on blog spot..."The Ings Thing". Got about 4 posts into that and then jumped ship! Ha!
Anyways I've two new songs out on mixtapes right now; "The Journey Continues" on Silent Knight's Holla Burton and "Self Control" on J the S's My Will. I'm stoked on these as they are both dope songs in my opinon. And I'm big upping the MC's writing and delivery not my beats here. So don't go thinking I get a couple songs done and I'm all big headed. Big ups to Vietdom who is featured on the J the S track, dope work. I do like the beats tho...the one SK used is about 2 yrs old now.
Expect more songs sometime this year...hehe!
Peace!

Category: Blogging

So first thing is first...There's a dope blog that I think might interest people, especially in this day in age of Fox News, even most other news is bullshit. Don't read the papers, don't watch the nitely news, most of it is half truths or designed to make you subconsiously afraid of your neighbor or anyone else human. So here's the link and they cover a lot of ground they include good film, music, and art as well as some humor too!

http://corrosivematerial.wordpress.com/

It's pretty obvious this is a "socio/political" blog...so on to the next rant....

Speaking with my Dirty last night we were discussing consumerisim and "brandism". Now anyone that knows one or both of us know we're victims or rather guilty of both. But we were both saying how we wanted to only buy second hand clothing from thrift shops and resale shops like Williamsburg's Buffalo Exchange. Why? You may ask...well it's simple really, our dollar is one of the biggest ways you can cast your vote, if not the biggest!! So we decided to make a challenge to not buy anything new(clothing-wise) for as long as we can. If one of us slips up we do something that will benefit others; somewhat of a community service. In this way we'll be consuming only what's already been made and consumed. And none of the money will go to support and continue ill labor practices or some not so nice corporations. There's so much being made that we wouldn't have to deprive ourselves either...esp in a big city like NYC. You can still have Marc Jacobs and buy it second hand. And it'll save you money for something like a vacation or traveling to Costa Rica...  At least that's what we're thinking...

PLEASE NOTE: I'm not on my high-horse and neither is he. Just wanted to share this with some folks.

We were also talking about how the Revolution will not be televised...but rather brought about in our communities. And what I mean by this is...the less we depend on others (the government, foreign countries, etc..) and become more self sufficiant, the less power the power's that be will have. So this means growing our own food, making clothing here (not specifically right here but in the U.S.), it means having communities of people that can work off the barter system too..."oh you're good with bikes, fix my bike and I'll fix your broken computer.." This idea my homie Rich and I were also talking about. "Urban" gardens would be a good idea maybe, I hear they're doing really well in L.A. Not only could it feed a neighborhood but it could help give us skills that we could pass along and use later in life. Is there anything like this in Brooklyn?? Anyone know? Then we're also bringing in fresher, healthier, cheaper(possibly free) food to the hood. Not to mention bringing people together to work on something that's for themselves and others. Community!!

FYI. I don't know shit about gardening...but would like to learn, so holler if you hear me.

That's it. I think these are good things, that could help us out @ this day in age. Not the end all be all...Peace.

I decided to get a new look on the profile tip. Thanks to Photo Rob for the dope shot I'm now using as my profile pic. And I decided it was time for some newness on the musical tip, as I haven't put anything up since No Boxes. So the "No Hate in '08 Beat Sampler" was the remedy. Hollerate!
Peace,
Ings.

ps. Everybody keep Fresh Daily in your thoughts. Send him some love and positivity. He's going on his 2nd week in the hospital and that shit can get rough. So comment him, go see him if you're in NYC he's at Bellevue, or send some positive energy! Peace, peace! For real this time.

Alright so I gotta sec and the net is actually working at a tolerant speed. So I thought I'd put something up. It might seem I've gotten lazy as of late. I just want everyone to know that A) I don't really have the net and B) My habit of burning the candle at both ends has caught up to me a little in the past month or so. This can explain my not being at many events/shows.
In better news...I'm putting things together for my next step. What will it be? Well I cannot disclose that as of yet. But when the timing is right...
Peace and a Happy New Year to you all!
