1st Annual North Central Indiana Meet & Greet and Expo

When:  June 6th 2009

Where:  Honeywell Center Gym  ~ Yes this is an INDOOR event!

Time:  11 am – 4 pm

Admittance Fee:  FREE

Table/Booth Cost:  FREE

It is with great excitement that WPIRG, Crossroads Paranormal and ASPRN announce the 1st Annual North Central Paranormal Meet and Greet and EXPO.

All paranormal enthusiasts are welcome to attend and set up a table at the event free of charge.

We have room for 50 – 70 tables and if you do not have your own tables, tables can be provided for you.

We are currently accepting donations from the groups or individuals to be given away via raffle at the event.  Attendees will get 1 free raffle entry  but if you bring a non perishable food item we will give you an additional entry!  The food items donated will be given to a local non- profit food pantry to help those in need.

If you are planning to attend we would love for you to participate in our paranormal photo contest!  Bring your photo to the event and people can vote for the best photo by placing a quarter into the canister that will be set out by your photo.  The money raised from the voting will also be donated to a non-profit organization to help those in need through these tough economic times.  The picture that has the most money in their canister will be the winner of the best paranormal photo (prize to be announced).

The ASPRN feed will be open for the event and CPR Show hosts Kris and Mike will be broadcasting the event and hope that other radio hosts from ASPRN will also participate in the broadcast.    What this means is that if you are a group or individual that is going to attend the event stop by the live broadcast booth and tell us about yourself or your group LIVE ON AIR!

For information about setting up a table contact Jason at wpirg@yahoo.com

For Donations please contact Kris at kris@cprshow.com

and started being about achieving para-celebrity status?  I am confused because I THOUGHT that we were here to help people and to study the paranormal.

What used to be searching for answers has now become searching for websites that will get me on TV or make me the next para-celebrity.

Of all the things that I have seen happen in the paranormal community this, for me, is one of the most embarrassing and it is not doing anything to advance the study of the paranormal in any way shape or form.

There is one website out there where many are lobbying for votes in hopes to be on the next paranormal reality show.  I have received many Myspace messages and even emails asking for me to vote for them on this site but all it was, was a vote for me request.  I do not personally know those who are sending the vote for me requests and the requests come with no explanation as to why I should vote for them, no information on what they have contributed to the study of the paranormal or why they would make the best person to represent all the females in the paranormal community.

For those who want “Paranormal Fame” then I have a tip for you.  If you want to be well known in the paranormal community then you need to do something that shows you are a valuable asset to the community.

Okay so I am curious as to why you became involved not in the paranormal but in the paranormal community.

Did you join just to be able to "meet" people who have the same interest as you?  Did you join because you feel you have something to offer the community?  Did you join so you could further your knowledge of the paranormal?

The above are just some examples of why some have joined the community.

There are several out there who do not really join the community and just do their own thing so I am wondering why you chose to become a part of the community.

Here I sit the day after Phenomecon and am still amazed by the  support that I witnessed yesterday.  We had an awesome turn out for our first year and it really did exceed our expectations.  Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the event and the Crump.  Because of YOUR support we were able to donate $907.35 to the Crump.  THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!

If you know me at all you know I LOVE to talk so of course the networking aspect was one of my favorite parts of yesterday.  I was able to catch up with some paranormal friends, meet some that I had talked to but never "met" and make some new friends.

I do have to give a couple of shout outs here though so here we go:

Ben, Mike and Seth Eerie Radio ~ You guys are awesome!  Ben you put your heart and soul into this and showed.

Todd and the entire Indiana SPI Team ~ WOW!!  You guys are amazing. Todd you are a rock my friend.  You were here there and every where yesterday and made it look so easy.

Crossroads Paranormal ~ I am not sure what to say here other than I could not be prouder then I am at this moment.  You understand the whole idea of CP, that is isn't just about ghosts and hauntings it is about HELPING PEOPLE and you demonstrated that yesterday when you all stepped up and helped in any way that you could.  It is an honor to be able to share this hobby with you and above all to be your friend.

Dani and Ron ~ You two made the long trip down and have put so much into this that I just could not thank you enough.  Dani you are the PR Queen and you did a GREAT job getting the word out about Phenomecon.  Your work really showed yesterday by the number of people who came out.

There are so many people that I want to thank and I am so afraid that I will forget someone so I am not going to list them but I do want to say that I enjoyed talking you each and everyone of you and I am sure that I will be talking with several of you all soon.

On to planning the Meet and Greet Picnic and Phenomecon 2009..

Okay so you saw in my "tagged blog" that I have started my own business.  I am an Indepedent Consultant for BeautiControl.  Soooo.. what does this mean?  It means I travel around (Bascially North Central Indiana and some places in IL) with my "mobile" Spa and pamper people to an hour or so of relaxation allowing them to "Escape".   I do not charge for the service and IF you enjoy the products that I had used you can purchase them so you can "escape" whenever you want to.

So that is what I am up to in my "free"time.

For more information you can visit my new website(s) at:

Plan Your Escape or my Beauti Page

If you have any questions feel free to email me at spa-escape-4u@comcast.net

Tag you are it!
Once you have been tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 weird, random things, facts, habits, or goals about yourself. At the end choose 10 people to be tagged, listing their names and why you chose them. Don't forget to leave them a comment (you're it) and to read your blog. You can't tag the person that tagged you. Since you can't tag me back, let me know when you've posted your blog so I can see your answers.

1.  I recently started a new business (I am still working full time too)

2. I only like Pepsi Max out of a bottle (it goes very flat in a can for some reason).

3. I believe in the afterlife, do not believe that it exists in the form of orbs.

4. When I was young my mom nicknamed me "Tina"

5. My legal name is Kristen.

6. Mike (my husband) and I met in a chat room in 1996 and married in 1998.

7. I do not like food mixed on my plate and pretty much eat everything seperate.

8. I have a VERY weak stomach  (seriously just ask Diane about it).

9. I am addicted to the television show Supernatural

10.  I love public speaking (funny how 2 of things I enjoy are pretty high on people's fear list the unknown and speaking in public).

Okay now I Tag:

Sheila ~ My best friend and she is so inspirational that I know she will have very interesting things to share.

Casey ~ Sheila's husband and I swear was probably my brother in another life.

Diane ~ An awesome person and a great friend!  Miss ya!

Amber ~ Okay let's hear the dirt girl

Sandi ~ Time to let the cat out of the bag!!

Patrick ~ Oh I am sure you have some interesting things to share

Terran ~ Time to spill the beans

James Willis ~ Let your weirdness shine my friend

Tracy (Moonshadow Rider) ~ Fellow Hoosier who I am going to meet soon!

Dazd ~ Share your secrets with us!!

This is the hardest blog I have ever had to write.  I know that many of you who listen to the show have heard some barking in the background and that was our dog making his voice heard on the radio.

It is with a very heavy heart that we had to put Frankie to rest.  He had become very ill last week and showed no signs of improvement (as a matter of fact he was getting worse day by day) we just could not watch him suffer.  It was very difficult to do so but Mike and I both knew we had to let him go.

Franklin aka Bubby
December 1999- March 2008

A wagging tail, adoring eyes,
barking at the door,
playful tugging, frequent naps,
toys strewn across the floor.

With little snorts and playful barks
you made your presence known
and, knowing you were always there,
I never felt alone.

You loved it when I scratched your ears,
I swear it made you smile.
I could never stay angry with you,
I couldn’t if I tried.

The barking at the door has ceased,
no wagging tail to greet me,
just memories of a special friend
and good times are all I see.

Although I miss you dearly,
I’ll try not to feel so blue,
because I know that there’s a heaven
for special dogs like you.
