As August 14th comes closer, thought I would check it. It really hasn't been much of a break. I haven't played many games, but still doing EAFL business almost daily. Overseeing the work on the website is more time consuming than I thought, but it should pay off. We are getting sign ups daily for the PS2 and 360 leagues and for our forums and finally getting Fantasy Football going, all this takes time.
I've had an interesting "debate" 'with Wingman about Michael Vick. My claim is that the NFL suspending him was unfair. I stated he had a "right" to earn a living. Wingman then decided to consult the library of Congress on all the reason why the NFL had the right to do what they did. He assummed right meant legal right, which I never disputed, but we have more rights then "legal". I stated an opinion, he spent lots of time refuting the claim that the NFL did not have the right, which was not my claim...In the end I was accused of changing my opinion to "save face".
Huh? I enjoy debating, but it's not that serious. There was no right or wrong here, it was opinions, plain and simple.
Also, ImUrDaddy aka Daddy spends a lot of time on the boardss getting owned by virtually everyone. Since he's umemployed, he can sit home and surf the boards regularly (yeah, I said it, what!!). So, when he's owned here's what he does...Either.
Hahahahahahahahahaha
or
Some post about how it's getting old, or nice try, blah, blah, blah. He's got to be the worst debator in this league. I've seen him owned by DoctorM, Pimmer badly, GoVols, InsaneCane, the list goes on and on, and you know it's happening when he breaks out the ha'ssss, or the holier then though posts.
Frankly he's pathetic, I won't be responding to his stupidity any more, it's beneath me.
I started this blog because I was bored at work, well, newsflash, still bored. I am in the final stages of being considered for one job and going to a 2nd interview for another job. There is a 3rd I'm considering, but haven't applied yet. I like to work and sitting around most of the day doing EAFL business is fine, but it's not what I'm getting paid for...
As for the league, I'm surprised at the number of PS2 players. The PS2 league will be stronger then I expected. After weeding out the deadweight, the 360 league has less then I expected, but more then enough to begin. The PS3 league is non-existent now, but if the game is any good, I expect a mad rush after the game drops.

"Ill tell you right now you aint blowing me out"
That was the instant message sent by Killa21G to Dub C before their superbowl game played tonight. Now, let me ask everyone who plays championship anything. Is that the mentality of someone who is playing to win? Joe Namath's famous prediction in 1969 was not, "The Colts will not blow us out", it was "The Jets will win the SB".
Ali, Jordan, all the greats ones had that swagger. I remember talking to Michael Irvin and regardless of what you say about him off the field, he played and starred for one of the greatest teams in NFL history. He said they knew when walked on any field, they were going to win.
Killa knew he was beat. He was beaten before the game even started. Now, before the haters post against me, remember this is my blog where I can state my opinion, insight from the Commish, nothing personal.
But...Killa went into this game with the wrong mentality. His Superbowl was against Bamma. He came to play in that game. But, how many have beaten Bamma and Dub C in a SB run..I could be wrong, but I think the number is 0.
ThaBoyz was watching the game live and provided play by play, which was great to have during the SB chat. It's the closest thing to being there we can create. Killa went up 3-0, but Dub C came back to make it 7-3, then 14-3 and from what I could tell, Killa got desperate and just didn't have the mental toughness to compete with best EAFL player of all time. Yup, I said it here, after 21 seasons White Chocolate aka WC aka Dub C is the best EAFL player of all time, bar none!!
Final score 41-17 Dub C (49ers) over Killa21G (Titans)
Killa is a great player, but like Peyton Manning prior to this season (for many seasons it was the Peyton award, but obviously not anymore), Dan Marino, Fran Tarkenton and Jim Kelly. Killa can't win the big one. His close friend and TWO SB champ Thaboyz said it well, "Killa just fell apart. He had some bad breaks, but also made some bad decisions".
With Madden 08 around the corner, everyone now resets and the slate is clean. The power base is equal and we can all start over. For Killa, as of now he will remain on PS2. Should he get a ship there in 08 it certainly will lack the luster of one during the 07 season, mainly because most of the top ballas will be moving to next gen. For Killa to recover, he needs to go next gen, preferably 360 where the big boys will be and win a SB, anything less is unacceptable. People worry about Tony Romo and the effect of that fumble, well a month later he was playing QB in the pro bowl and holding extra points and FG's, why, because he wanted to get right back on the horse. Based on this game, Killas ability to rebound is in question. This loss will sting for a long time, he may never recover, only time will tell.
As for Dub C, he has clearly staked his claim to greatness. 3 SB's and the EAFL's first triple crown (COTY, MVP and SB) ever. The only other balla in that category in the last 11 seasons has an impressive regular season winning percentage, but no triple crown, 2 SB's and lost their only SB head to head match-up. While Thaboyz is worthy of praise and will certainly be considered for Hall of Fame, there is now a new legend in the EAFL and his name is Dub C!!
Season 21 in the books, we move to next gen for Season 22 which will start August 19th with a random draft. I will continue to blog from time to time, but it will not be as frequent now that the seeason is over. I hope you enjoy a seat from inside the front office of the EAFL, Madden's premier online league!!

So I get up this morning and find out the Killa is in the SB. No one picked him to get there, but he's on a mission. Let's recap.
In the AFC Wildcard round, Killa slips by Mr. Official (Titans over the Bills), 25-24, revenging his lost to Mr. O in the playoffs last season. Mr. Official, while not having a SB, is consistently one of the toughest ballas in the league. The other AFC wildcard game had the Bengals (Lawyerwarrior) DQ'd for taking too long to get the game played. He was replaced by the Dolphins 2 time SB winner Mantastic D. I felt good about this becasue 1) I had warned everyone that these playoffs would NOT drag 2) I have Bengals an extra day to get the game played 3) Bengals took over a 5-1 team, while the Dolphins played the entire season, both finished 9-7, but the Bengals had the tiebreaker. It always bothers me when an owner can take a team mid-season and go the playoffs, but it's system that has worked. Well, Legitballer and his Steelers took down the Dolphins 27-7. So Steelers and Titans advance.
The Titans advance to face the Legend, da DC Bamma and his Raiders. Word was that Bamma was putting it all together to make a final run to get his 3rd EAFL championship. Killa, still looking for his 1st ring had other ideas. Bamma's title of Legend is well deserved, he has the longest win streak in EAFL history (27), the only 19-0 season, 2 SB's, 6 appearance and is a hall of famer. His run in the 1st 10 seasons of the EAFL is probably the most dominant stretch of any owner, ever. That said, Killa promised an upset and warned everyone who didn't give him a chance that they would eat their words.
So I'm watching the game, you know, no spectator mode (Are you listening EA Sports), so I get to watch the score change. 6-0 Killa, missed a 2 pt conversion. 14-0, made a conversion. About this time I'm expecting Bamma to wake up and make it a game. 22-0 Killa, 3rd quarter. Now I'm like, uh oh, this could get ugly. 30-0 Killa, still 3rd quarter. I don't know that I've ever seen Bamma down 30-0 in a league game. It was quickly 30-8, but now it's the 4th quarter and I know it's over. Final score 36-16 Killa delivers. I spoke to Bamma after the game who was irate at some comments Killa made during the game, but he did say that Killa won fair and square, and that he just played dumb.
The other AFC game had the Steelers take on the rookie Moss3d U and his Texans. Legit sends the rookie home with a 24-20 win. Good job rook, but this is the EAFL, not a "doo-doo" league (Thanks KoachK). So that makes it Legit vs Killa, Steelers vs Titans for the AFC Conf Ship. I went to sleep so I missed the hype, but when it was done, Killa won the shoot out 43-35 over what appears to be a game Legitballer. So, no repeat for the Season 20 champ, Legit, but an impressive 2 year run. Not sure how he was able to get the Steelers with such a high draft pick, but good for him.
Today should be LOTS of action in the NFC. The Bucs and the other rook, DirrtyBird upset one of the EAFL's most consistent ballas and former SB winner TikiSon21 and his Packers. But Dub C and his 49ers crushed his dreams of dominance by manhandling him 34-8. So, Dub C is waiting in the NFC ship.
Today's first game should be around 1:00 EST between InsanceCane and his Giants and Edmor and the Cards. This will be a good game, with the winner to face Vims and the Saints and the winner of that to face Dub C and his 49ers for a shot at Killa and his Titans.
2 games are guaranteed to be played today, but I really hope guys carry this as far as they can today. Some in this league have been known to delay games just because, well now would not be the time for that. Realistically we could get through the entire playoffs today, but certainly by tomorrow the latest. Problem here is InsaneCane has major sense of urgency issues with his games...if he wins 2 today, no guarantees he will keep playing. Will he win two, I'm not expecting it, but in the end, it won't matter much, Dub C should rep the NFC vs Killa in what promises to be a GREAT game.

In case you didn't know, I drive 100 miles a day roundtrip to and from work. I like driving, but hate traffic. Lately I'm reminded why driving can be so frustrating.
Driving Slow:
Huh? The speed limit is 65 why are you in the passing last going 50? Can you see the line of cars behind you? Move over you freaking idiot.
Trucks:
No offense to anyone who makes a living driving a truck, but fuck you!! I can stand these rog hogging, speed demons. Why are you in the passing line going 80 mph? Why do two of you decide to ride side by side down the highway together? Are you tailgating me? Your breaks better word bud. Ever have one drive by you when it's raining? Does insurance cover an accident caused by a truck splashing rain water?
Old people:
At some point, quit driving!! I mean really, can't they see what's going on around them? Of course not, they're too fucking old.
Stupid people: Pass you then slow down, Speed up when you're trying to pass them, Change lanes without signaling...are you dumb or do you really want me to go up your ass? Change lanes and leave their signal light on for miles.
There, I feel better now...my best bet is to probably just put on my cape and fly everywhere, but that would blow my cover.

I've probably beaten this to death on the message boards, but it's my blog, so I can say what I want.
After I went to find out about the upset loss of the Packers via the Bucs I got embroiled into an interesting discussion about MVP for the league. This started by one legend, da DC Bamma. Now, he is a trusted, respected, member of the league and while we debate from time to time, I've got no beef with him or his position.
That said...here goes.
His argument is that Matt Jones should have been on the ballot for the EAFL Sesason 21 MVP award. He had 200 catches for 3900 yards for Time2Shine and his Jaguars who went 8-8 and didn't make the playoffs. It's been a long standing tradition the the EAFL MVP will come from a team headed to the playoffs. This is MVP not player of the year. Impact on the league which includes winning, not just stats which would be individual.
Bamma's argument was even if he didn't win, the performance was so spectacular, it earned MVP discussions. We the commishes did discuss it and we agreed that the Jagaurs average season does not warrant an MVP candidate.
Now, cutting to the chase a bit, Bamma continues to use Vince Young in the NFL as the basis for his argument, saying Young was an MVP candidate on a non-playoff team. Well, he wasn't. While sportswriters may have said he had an MVP type year, he didn't make the final ballot. This is why debating is sometimes frustrating, if you're going to debate, let's stick to facts. In fairness, Jason Taylor did make the final ballot from a Dolphins team that was 6-10...but Bamma didn't know that or even take time to research it.
As Wingman said, we all knew going into the season that you needed to be on a playoff team for MVP consideration, so whats to debate? Bamma sometimes doesn't understand structure, process and procedure and when you begin to make exceptions, you set a very dangerous precedence, one that this league is not in favor off, nor should they be.
As I said, everyone has a right to their opinion, but sometimes you have to consider the impact on the league when you start making exceptions...Time2Shine came into this season to do ONE thing, break the EAFL record for receptions, yards and TD's. He did it, congrats, more power to him. Our league MVP should be from a team that focused on winning.

Now that I've gotten some rest, I'm still amazed I what I saw from both the EAFL and EAFL-E. So many reasons not to play games, yet they join a league.
Here are some of the statements:
"Eating dinner with my family is more important then playing this game": So you waited till dinner time to get this game in? So, let's just assume that was the only time you could play, one dinner is now death? Ever miss dinner for a playoff game, phone call, working late? Even if you've be married or in a relationship for 5 years, that's over 1800 chances at dinner together...she'll get over it.
"My girlfriend wants to spend time with me and she's more important then a video game": Virtually a direct quote. Huh? So who's the man and who's the bitch? For all the youngsters out there, stake your claim now, or she'll own you. Give her a complete night, give madden a complete night. Now the video game won't satisfy you in bed, but you'll have no arguing and when you're done, it leaves you ALONE.
Oh wait, newsflash, Tiki just lost to DirtyBird 28-21 (Packers vs Bucs), major upset..I'll finish this in a bit...

Yeah, it's early. Why am I up, well, been up since 6:00 am, EST, why? To try and play my last game, but LB30Kid got a concussion playing street football, so according to his email didnt get home until 1:00 my time and is taking pain killers, so won't be up. Of course I didn't get that email until this morning, so I'm up.
I'm now worried about this last game. I tried to play him late yesterday, but he first said he could, then said he couldn't because he had to go to work, but that ended up with the hospital visit. If he doesn't get on this morning, we probably won't be able to connect until late tonight, which is not good. I will try and have faith and see what happens.
I spoke to Train about commishing the PS3 league. He quit on my sometime ago while being a commish of the PS2 league. No notice, no heads up, just removed himself from the league. As a commissioner, I would expect a little more then that, at least a phone call or email BEFORE it happens, so we can plan how it impacts the league. I think he understands that now and will be happy to have him oversee the PS3 league.
Now GoVols had returned to the message boards. He also quit, as a commissioner and said some very disparaging words about the league as he left. Well he's posted on the message boards and even hinted about returning. The message boards are actually his boards, he created them so time ago for the league...due to that, he was able to access the private forums. I've asked him to not do that in the future, but I think for 08, we will just move forums...I've got no problem with him these days, but the problem here is, he created the boards so they remain his no matter what. As for him returning to the EAFL, we will see. GoVol's temper is legendary, his disgust for our style of play well documented, seeing him return does not excite me at this time, but we will see how things play out.
The Jets owner, Carrottop lied to me about playing a game, so he's banned from the EAFL. His opponents got wins and I informed another league he was in, I know the commish very well. Come to find out he's got issues in that league too and is on a "short leash".
As for my games I played Edmor and lost 44-21, he was up 28-21 in the 2nd, yes the 2nd quarter and I turned it over and he went up 35-21. It was 38-21 at the half and our defensives finally woke up. My fast start lead to a quick fizzle and put me at 3-12 for the season, with my last game, hopefully to be played, against LB30Kid and his Colts.

What an evening, not sure I can remember everything, but I'll try.
First I play LB30, my last game. Now it's funny that he emailed me that I shouldn't have waited until the end of the season to play. Huh? Does he not read the message boards. I posted many times that I was taking my time this season to enjoy the last go around on PS2...Anyway, we played, I completely suck, again, not helped by 6 drops, I lose 16-6. I wish he had told me earlier he could play at that time, we had settled on 10 or 11 pm, EST, then on my way home he texts me if I can play then. I appreciate his efforts, but had I known, I would have left earlier from work and not rush home and play him right when I walked it. Anyway, it's played, so life goes on.
I got to watch many guys rushing to get their final games played. This was one of the most interesting nights I've ever witnessed. Scrappy and Foureal, spent most of the night to catch each other, then tool almost an hour to connect. Foureal is the Broncos owner guaranteed a playoff spot, win or lose, problem is, they didn't connect until 12:25 am EST, 25 minutes after the deadline, so I had to tell them, no game, per league rules. This is where being the Commish is not fun...knowing a guy could be in the post season, but where do you draw the line. 4 weeks ago the deadline was posted and many hustled to beat it, including often late InsaneCane (Giants) who needed 3 games and got them all to finish his season and win his division.
Many in the past lost draft spots and playoff spots due to the deadline, so as much as I wanted to, I couldn't allow it. I also saw wingman just sit and wait, took him 2 hours, according to him, to get the new Bears owner to play. It's amazing the excuses people come up with. I heard twice tonight that dinner with the family is more important then Madden. Ummm, what? (caveman style)...Who said not to eat dinner with your family? You've had 4 weeks to play these games, I''m sure there was plenty of non family dinner time available. Or the other good one is, the baby's in the room with me.
What? So, your little baby is with you on the last day of the season and we're supposed to do what? I wonder how these guys handle work, what do they tell their bosses at the gas station when they're late to pump that gas.You have four weeks to figure out 16 games...28 days to figure out 16 games. If you can't, cool, don't join a league. I never hear these excuses in the first week, only on the last day, so what does that tell you? People make time for what them want, and that's OK, but when you make a commitment, keep your word, period.
I heard in Europe someone was claiming to be the owner of EAFL-E and played a fake game or two...sheeeesh, they don't know who I am, as loud as I can be.
Well, I'm tired, hope I made some sense...it was a long night, long day, remembeer I was up at 6 to play a game, it's 1:20 am now...
Tomorrow, I'll continue...

NFC preview time:
NFC East:
It's InsaneCane's division if he wants it. The Giants sit at 6-3, but with 4 days to go he needs to get in 7 games on a weekend sure to be filled with cookouts, fireworks and other festivities. Cane has a history of being slow with his games, it's sad to see a good season might be for nothing if he can't finish. Pure D has overcome his 0-5 start to now be at 7-6. Attitude wise, can't stand the guy, but his stick skillz are pretty good, particularly as a cover safety. Lantz with the Eagles is the only member of this division with 16 games, which is the requirement playoff entry. I'll say InsaneCane pulls it off and gets 16 and wins the division.
NFC North
Tiki sitting at 11-5 has crushed the so-called Packers curse. Honestly there was no curse, a certain legend has a bad season with them and needed a scapegoat. YoungBoom went 9-1 with them before disappearing. Anyway, Tiki has clinched the division. Casper sits at 8-8 and could get a wildcard spot due to the 16 game rule.
NFC South
Vims is at 10-5 with the Saints, DirtyBird is at 9-6 with the Bucs. They split the regular season, but the Saints has a better division record, so even is he loses his last game, I believe it's still his division. Reviewing this I see that the Commish and his Cowboys gave the Bucs their 6th loss and pretty much taking away any chances at a division title. Vims and his Saints play the Giants. He could lose and finish 10-6, if Dirty had won out, he'd been 11-5 with a division title, but the Commish played spoiler...gotta love. Both should make the playoffs.
NFC West
It was over before it started. All-Everything DUB C sits at 14-1 with the #1 seed clinched. Edmor at 7-3 could see post season play, but needs 6 games and some wins to make it happen.
Because so many games need to be played, predictions are tough, but here goes.
DUB C (49ers), Tiki (Packers), Vims (Saints), InsaneCane (Giants), Dirty Bird (Bucs), Casper (Vikings)
NFC 1st round:
Vikings at Saints: Casper is a good balla, but the Vikings are his Cryptonite. That said, he should have enough to take out Vims and the Saints.
Bucs at Giants: Good match-up. I played them both, InsaneCane is the better balla. Giants win, big.
2nd round
Vikings at Packers: Casper has publicize that he "owns" Tiki. Well, in this game, Tiki gets his revenge and dominates Casper, Packers win.
Giants at 49ers: Good game, probably closer then many would think, but Dub C is just too damn good. 49ers win.
NFC Ship: 2-time SB winner DUB C and his 49ers take on former SB champ Tiki and his Packers. This game comes down to stick skillz and scheme. DUB C will win, in a tough battle, 49ers beat the Packers.
So, even though things could shape up differently, Edmor could get 16 and make the playoffs, Pure D could get a wildcard or even the division. When it's all said and done, DUB C wins the NFC ship to face Bamma in EAFL Season 21 Superbowl. Someone will be the leagues first 3 time SB champion, who? The Commish will give you a detailed break-down when the games appears closer to being reality...stay tuned.

So, with 4 days left in the final season of Madden 07, who's going to the playoffs with a chance to win the SB. Let's look at the AFC.
AFC East:
Mr Official with the Bills has clinched the division. MakeYouHumble with the Dolphins has returned with 6 straight wins to go from 2-6 tp 8-6 now and a chance at a wildcard.
AFC North:
Legitballa wtih the Steelers has clinched the division. Lawyerwarrior with the Bengals is 8-5 and in the playoff hunt, but took the team midseason, so his record is 3-4. I don't expect a playoff appearance from him this seaosn.
AFC South:
Moss3d U at 13-3 is the surprise of the league. He's played well with the Texans. Killa is 11-3 with the Titans and would win the divsion if he finishes at 13-3 due to his sweep of Moss during the regular season. Both will make the post season. The offensive juggernaut Time2Shine sits at 8-7 ruining any MVP chances for the Jaguar's Matt Jones. He's scored an amazing 606 point, a league high, he also gave us 480 points, also currently a league high.
AFC West:
The Burnt out Bamma is looking good at 11-2 with the Raiders. Winning out guarantees #1 Seed and 1st round bye as he's already clinched his division. The rest of the division will do well just to finish their season.
It looks like Bamma (Raiders), Killa (Titans), Legit (Steelers), Mr. Official (Bills) with Moss3d U (Titans) and MakeYouHumble (Dolphins) entering via wildcard.
AFC 1st round
Dolphins at Steelers: Humble aka MantasticD is a 2 time SB winner, because he has no PC many do not know him, but he's capable of beating anyone at anytime. Legit is a solid gamer who beat Mr. Official in double overtime in last season's SB. He has a chance to be the first back to back winner in EAFL history. MantasticD is looking to be the 1st 3-time SB winner in the EAFL. Legit won their regular season match-up 21-13. This game is a toss-up, I'll go with Legit due to having the better Madden team.
Texans at Bills: Another great match-up. Moss3d and his Texans won the regular season match-up 21-15. Mr. Official is looking to return to glory and win a ship this time. The teams are pretty much a wash, so it's down to stick skillz. Another toss-up, I'll go with the EAFL Veteran taking out the rookie phenom with Mr. Official winning.
2nd Round:
Steelers at Titans: Legit travels to Tenn to play Killa, arguably the best balla in the EAFL with no SB's. The rested Killa should take out Legit as he will be softened coming off his epic battle with MantasticD. Killa wins, Legits back to back quest ends.
Bills at Raiders: Mr. Official is a tough balla, but Bamma and the Raiders equals a lethal combination. Bamma wins and it could be ugly.
AFC Ship game: Killa and the Titans travel to the Black hole to face the legend and his Raiders. If Bamma is still motivated, being able to taste his 3rd ship, Killa will not win this one. Killa is very good and can beat Bamma, but being the current Marino of the EAFL, Bamma will be determined to keep that nickname where it belongs.
Bamma and his Raiders go the the SB, keeping my pre-season pick alive.
