Risen drums!!!!
well boys and girls It's official! I am playing some brand spankin new drums made custom from my Risen Drums boys up in Minnesota. I am happy to endorse Risen as my number one drum, and I am greatful that they have endorsed me in return. It gives a great feeling to be believed in and when the music speaks, people listen and act. I am hoping to get some photos of my beauties up soon. but i will bore you with the details.
the day they arrived we were supposed to be leaving for a show in North Carolina. we planned our depature on the arrival of the goods. after sitting around my house all day waiting the JW boys arrived at the house and together we waited for the sound of a UPS truck...we waited and waited.......3...4....finally 5 o clock came around and we saw the Brown. What can brown do for you? they can bring you some drums! it was like little kids running to the gates of dineyland. we ran to the truck and unloaded the boxes, brought them in the house and watched the foam peanuts overflow from the boxes. 24x16 inches later a kick drum emerged and the dark brown stain looked classy. the sparrow branded into the side flew into view and the classic look of 1972 emerged. vintage ludwig lugs with age and old school hand turn tension rods set my brand new babies back to an era where rock and roll was life. 13x9 and 16x16 toms set the pace for a great vintage set up. my snare is 14x7 and deep with a great tone. all in all these brand new drums reflect the glory days of classic rock and roll and they beg to be seen and heard. Risen drums are definetly sound worth seeing as the custom shop vintage drums they built me are spectacular! My drums and I hope to see you all soon!

Hey guys,

David's Dad is embarking on a fundraiser in order to raise money to renovate  a building at the University of Arkansas at Monticello which is used for campus ministry.
Please read his letter below and visit their site, in order to learn more about the project and make donations by clicking on the banner below.

Thanks!
JW

We are ready to launch "One In A Million". The success of
this program does not depend on the amount that you give;
it depends on the amount of people who give.

We are going to secure a campus ministry at UAM for the
next 100 years. We are about to raise enough money so that
we will be able to pay for all the renovations needed on
our building. We are going to raise enough funds that the
ministers who come after me will never have to worry about
fundraising. We are going to attempt to raise enough money
to begin all the programs we've always wanted to have but
could never afford.

There are lots of people who believe this cannot be done
but I believe that is exactly why God wants to raise this
money this way. Once it is done it will be obvious that it
was He who made all this possible.

Every penny that is donated will either go into the New
Building Fund or into the Student Activity and Programs
Fund. None of this money is going to my salary. Paypal
takes a 3% cut on all that we raise but that is all the
administrative costs that are involved.

I need you to go to this website; uammbsf.com. When it
opens you will see, on the right hand side bar, a heading
entitled "donations" or "donate". Click on that and it
will take you to the Donations center of the site. Click
on "donate" and follow the instructions. We are
encouraging everyone to donate $5 or more.

After you donate, please send a note to all the friends
that you have and attach this note to it. They can check
out the plans for the new building on the website, as
well. Just remember, the success of this is not in what you give but
in whom you contact. The more people you tell the more
successful we will be.

July 5, 2007 - Thursday

Richmond, Virginia

Here we are in the middle of the summer already.  We spent
our 4th of July driving from Nashville to eastern Virginia for a show
at Kings Dominion theme park.  We have played some awesome shows for
huge crowds this summer and I think we are all noticing how quick
things can get put in perspective.  This past weekend in Tulsa we
played for 50 people on a Saturday night and then for 25,000 the next
day.  The festivals have been interesting to us because this has been
our first year to play them and some of the drives have been pretty
far and it's funny when you get there and park amongst the tour
buses.  Today we pull in to the theme park and it's very humbling to
see the Newsboys have their own semi trailer and that reminded us
that we are still trying to get this band off the ground.  On the
flip side of that it has been awesome to get the play the big shows
with great sound, crewmembers, big stages, catered meals,
organization, and big crowds!
Anyway, we just wanted to let everyone know that we are still alive
and kicking.  We have tons of new music that we hope to begin moving
forward with soon.  Also, there is some exciting fall tour news that
is in the works.  We just want to say thank you to everyone who has
bought the album, came to a show, or supported us in any by spreading
the word about JW.  On to Cincinnati!

Check out some of the pics below from the Tulsa show courtesy of our friends at Jonathan Van Photography.

More pics will be available on the page tonight in a new slideshow.

May 19, 2007 - Saturday
Hello from Madison Wisconsin, we are all kind
of bummed out today because we woke this morning in
Chicago and found out that our van had been broken
into.  During the night someone broke in through the
passenger side door and unlocked the van.  We had all
9 of our guitars but some for reason they only took 5
of them. Jesse lost 2, Brian lost 1, David lost his
acoustic, and also a loaner guitar from Gibson.  It's
odd because they had enough time to get under the van
and steal our spare tire but left the other guitars
and some other stuff we had in there.  We also lost
our new GPS unit, an Ipod, and the road manager's
Nintendo Wii.  Needless to say we are all kind of sick
but they could have easily stolen the entire van and
drove off with the trailer.  We are just thankful that
none of us were out there when it happened because
David almost went down to sleep in the van during the
night.  Tonight is the last show of  week 2 and next
week should be interesting with Toby being the only
one with any of his guitars left.  The thieves did
spare Jesse's 1984 Alvaraz Yairi acoustic that was
given to him by his grandma just before she passed
away so that was a blessing.  I guess the moral of the
story is to watch out when you are in Chicago and be
checking in pawn shops for JW gear.
May 16, 2007 - Wednesday
Week 2 of the tour started last night with a show at Opry Mills Mall in Nashville.  The guys in both bands enjoyed 2 nights at home before we headed off today for tonight's show in Cincinnati.  The final shows of last week were great and we want to thank those of you who came to see us in Athens, Texas, Tulsa, and St. Louis.  Tonight's crowd in Cincinnati might have given Tulsa a run for it's money for the most enthusiastic crowd of the tour so far.  We estimated that about 6000 people were introduced to Jackson Waters for the first time during week 1 of the tour.  It's too bad we can't spend a little more time in each city and enjoy the scenery but we have a day off in Chicago on Friday so be watching for some pictures from the Oprah show.  If you are in the Midwest, come to a show this week.
