In January I had the great pleasure of being asked to write a thirty minute score for a new theatre/ dance piece by the 'Mimbre' dance company. Based on the journey three friends take with each other it is directed by Spanish clown Leandre who I have been a big fan of for years. An instrumental piece made up of seven scenes using a line up of violin, cello, double bass, drums and myself on an assortment of instruments.

Its being mixed in the last week of May and from that I hope to do a limited, special edition, run of cds. The show will be touring street festivals around Europe in the summer and then coming back to be extended in the autumn to an hour long performance premiering at the London International Mime Festival in Jan 2010.

At last after a long time coming my third album is seeing the light of day ! It wasnt in the making, that was quite swift, but more the decision of how to release it. In the end I decided to set up my own label !
Recorded in my home on the Kent Coast and around Regents Canel, London, its hopefully a more playful affair than previous releases. Obviously there is the prevailing melancholia that I feel at home with but there is also a desire to experiment and be more up. As ever it was a joy to work with all the contributors, my live 7 piece band and the guest vocalists. At the mixing desk was the faithful Mr Oisin Lunny for the first round, but due to its release getting dragged out I felt a need to revisit the record with the fantastic energetic input of Mr Sebastian Rogers. Through him it became a musical journey rather than 14 individual tracks.
