No, not on the same bill. But now that I have your attention it's time to note that the surf is rising and The Trashmen's debut New York area shows are coming right up! Do not miss what might be your only opportunity to see one of the greatest bands in the history of rock'n'roll right here, right now! And to make things even better, The Neanderthals and The Hi-Risers will be joining them for both shows.

And if that wasn't good enough already...the good folks at Sundazed Records who have done such a fabulous job with their Trashmen releases have been kind enough to press up a special limited edition live EP that will be handed out for free to attendees of these shows! The cuts include "Goofy Foot" and "Yellow Jacket" from the stupendous "Bird Call" box set (neither available on vinyl before) and never released anywhere verions of "I Call Your Name" and "Wild Thing"!

The shows also coincide with the WFMU Record Fair, so if you are not from the immediate area this would a great time to say, "Let's Go Trippin'"!

And what about Roky Erickson, you ask? We are pleased to announce that we have just confirmed Roky for New Year's Eve at Maxwell's! He has a splendid new band and alongside his current live faves, has added such Top Ten hits as "Don't Slander Me" and "Reverberation" to the set. This will be a fabulous way to end the old year and begin the new. Tickets go on-sale Friday at noon via Ticketweb and will also be available at Tunes in Hoboken and Other Music in Manhattan. A select few journeyed to Spain with Los Straitjackets. Hundreds surfed to Baja with Los Straitjackets and the Ventures. Now we bring you the best rock and roll vacation yet! Los Straitjackets Rock 'N Roll Summer Camp. Three days and nights of twangtastic guitars, dancing Pontanis, rock en espanol and midnight jam sessions all in the beautiful environment of The Catskill Mountains.

August 7th through 9th 2007
Los Straitjackets Rock 'N Roll Summer Camp
At the spectacular Full Moon Resort located in the heart of the Catskills Mountain Preserve.

Full Moon Resort is a 1.5 hour drive from Stewart-Newburgh Airport,
1.5 hours from Albany Airport, 2.5 hours from Newark Airport and
3 hours from New York City.

Package(s) include:
Three nights of live music with Los Straitjackets and special guests. Including a group excursion to Albany to see Los Straitjackets, Big Sandy and Los Lobos.
Three nights of comfortable country inn accommodations at the Full Moon Resort with over a hundred pristine acres of mountains, fields and streams to wander and explore
Delicious meals each day prepared by Full Moon's on-site chef.
Guitar workshops with Eddie Angel, Daddy O Grande and Pedro del Mar and a Go-Go dance workshop with the World Famous Pontani Sisters.*
Softball game (bring your glove), pool table, volleyball and swimming.
A closing night fan jam session (bring your axe).

Couples or pairs can choose private rooms
Single travelers will be assigned a same sex roommate
There are also several rooms that accommodate larger groups
Most rooms have shared bathrooms (it's camp after all) but some private baths are available. First come first serve.

3 Unique Los Straitjackets Shows

The Rock & Roll Summer Camp will feature 3 completely different nights of entertainment. Night 1 will be an all-instrumental Los Straitjackets show featuring your favorite Los Straitjackets instrumentals and songs from the depths of their repertoire. Let us know what you want to hear, and who knows, they may dedicate a song to you.

Night 2 will add the World Famous Pontani Sisters. They will bring a steamer trunk full of costumes and perform their unique routines with Los Straitjackets. MC Big Sandy may also be persuaded to do the "Peppermint Twist."

Night 3 everyone will hop a chartered bus to Albany to see the 'El Fabuloso" double bill of Los Straitjackets with Big Sandy and Los Lobos. There will be Rock En Espanol, and then some.

Every night there will also be an afterparty, featuring guest djs and more!
