Hi all,

Finally got the new track "Up and Across" finished - posted now.  Deep and spacey for August...

Enjoy!

Ok so I know everyone is out to maximise their publicity, which is fine.  Mabye this is going to be a bit harsh, but it's Monday morning:

Is there any chance people could stop using the "comments" section on Myspace for unsolicited graphics-heavy spam for your new release/remix/project?

There are blogs you can use to tell everyone what you're doing, and there are Bulletins which you can use to broadcast to all your friends what you're doing (although if you post the same bulletin 6 times in a day or two, expect to get blocked as you're stopping me from seeing other people's bulletins - this is music, not a spam war).

If you are going to leave a comment with a plug to your own stuff on this page (which is obviously fine, loads of people are doing very cool stuff), at least the vaguest comment on my stuff at the same time would be more than welcome...  like the section is labelled, "comments" - not "massive impersonal graphics-heavy spam".

Unsolicited impersonal spam in the comments (with no comment) will be deleted (unless your stuff is the coolest stuff ever).  Repeat offenders will be blocked!

Ok - back to the hangover...

So I did this remix a couple of months ago, and it's finally out today.

It's a reworking of Mick Chillage's "Pure Blue" track on Nice & Nasty, and there are three other remixes on the release.

The original entered the studio as spacey sax-led electronics, and the remix came out as deep melodic house...

Enjoy - I had a lot of fun doing this one!

A new mix from me - although it's practically unmixed.  (Unmixed is the new mixed!)

Instead of dancefloor stuff, this time around it's super chilled out stuff - a collection of some of my favourite chilled out electronics tracks ever...

tracklist:

plaid - "undoneson" - (warp)
cim - "comfort control" - (delsin)
bitstream - "monolith" - (signal)
cyrus - "inversion" - (basic channel)
the monsters from id - "bingo" - (signal)
move d - "in/out" - (fifth freedom)
marco bernardi - "trane" - (emoticon)
digitonal - "drencrom" - (toytonic)
digitonal - "carcause" - (toytonic)
future beat alliance - "void" - (delsin)
bola - "vespers" - (skam)

Hot off the desk... "Turning Point" is the first original track for quite a while - more coming soon...

Also there's a remix I did for Mick Chillage coming very shortly, so keep your eyes peeled!!

The new and hopefully final mix of "Departure" is now in the player.

A lot nicer than the last mix, this one is a bit more widescreen stereo, the nasty high-mids are gone, and a couple of other subtle changes to the mix.

Enjoy!

Hey folks,

I've been off and slightly busy getting married, but in the midst of all that, I also realised that I'd done a really bad job of the final mix on "Departure" - quite toppy in a particularly nasty high-mid sort of way.  Distinctly unpleasant.

So, while I thought about just trying to EQ the problem out of the final mix, I decided ultimately that wasn't really the right way to fix it - so I've been preparing to mix it again.  Hopefully it'll be mixed again in the next few days, and a new "ear-friendly" version will be posted back up as soon as it's done.

Apologies to anyone who experienced the ear-unfriendly mix!

Well... the studio is finally back up and running after 6 months odd of downtime - approximately since the Ferox 12" hit.  So finally work on new tracks has started.

In the meantime, here's one called "Driving On", which I was working on just before the studio got ripped to pieces.  I thought it was a work in progress, but listening to it now, it sounds very close to finished...

Oh, and it's a real builder, so you only really get it if you listen start to finish I'm afraid... :)

Enjoy!

Quick note to say thanks to all who came down to Electric City last Thursday.  Heaving and an amazing atmosphere in points, it's been a long time since I've seen people clambering on speakers.  Killer crowd.

Tracks getting monsterous receptions included the Quiet Village remix of FK's "Road of Life", the Radioslave remix of Azure by Slam, and "The Track" by Fabrice Lig.  "Blowback" went down really well too, which is great.  Good times, thanks EC!
