My band, Chakras, was recently nominated for a CEA. That's a Cincinnati Entertainment Award, and I find it flabbergasting that I'm now in not one but two CEA nominated bands. WhitneyB captured the CEA in 2005 for Best Singer/Songwriter, and now Chakras has been nominated for one, in the Hard Rock/Metal category.

That's pretty awesome and I'm honored to be able to play with both acts and surround myself with people who are a lot better at music than I am.

You know, I've never blogged about the songs on my myspace site, so I will.

Waiting: This is a song I did with Whitney and a friend from a different, unnamed social community. He will remain idenified as "Minstrel". Thanks, Minstrel! This song was a drum loop that we were challenged with writing a song to. I put together the basic arrangement and it sort of went from there. Minstrel wrote a seperate guitar part, and Whit wrote her own vocals. I did solo 2, Minstrel's on the first one.

Ivory Towers, Something for the Boys and Girls to Imitate, Apathy: These are songs that were part of the White Light project, which was put together rapidly in 2007. In February, my guitar player George (from Kohai) talked to me about putting together a project for the RPM Challenge - which is essentially write and record a record in the 28 days of February. So we did, and these are some of the best songs that came out of that. I'm extremely proud to have been part of this project (and to have played guitar, bass, drums, and vocals on it).

Tension Span: This is my old band "water", circa 1997. Heather Gurley, Matt Flynn, Jer Morgan and myself recorded this track at Backstage Studios in KY. This is one of my favorite songs. I loved these people, and playing with them!

Tribal: I made this song, specifically for the Vivendi Universal game "Tribes: Vengeance". There was a competition to write and record a song to go along with the worldwide release trailer for the game. This song was downloaded tens of thousands of times and represents my most commercially successful work. It was downloaded from the IGN site alone 25,000+ times, and more from other sites.

There you have it. This is why these songs are up on my MySpace site. Enjoy.

I’ve never been one to blog a whole lot. But since I’m redoing my myspace site, I figured I’d at least add something here for you to read, even if it’s a waste of your time and mine. Yay!

Just got back from a few days out in Tahoe, snowboarding with the tribalwar folks and my man Carston. Wow, what a great time - spectacular mountain (Heavenly, it’s called) and amazing snowboarding. Too much fun!

Also: I finally posted some White Light material, arguably the cream of that particular crop. Enjoy.
