In August of 2006, England's Dirty Pretty Things embarked on their first U.S. tour. They played small club dates in only a handful of cities.  Fortunately, Chicago was one of those cities, and the Glorious Noise video crew spent the day with the band before its sold-out show at Schubas Tavern.  This GloNo Video was one of our most popular, until it was recently removed by YouTube citing "inappropriate content"... not that anyone at youtube could explain what was inappropriate about it.  Because we love The Dirty Pretty Things and found them to be great "blokes", we've re-posted this video here on the whiskeybender my space site.

Whiskey Bender Productions has added another outtake from our Glorious Noise video archive. This one features Marah playing "Firecracker" during the band's early & acoustic performance at Schubas Tavern in Chicago on July 28, 2006. Led by brothers Dave and Serge Bielanko, Marah is truly on of the best rock bands around today. Check out Marah's MySpace Site to hear tracks from the band's recent digital-only EP "Can't Take It With You" and info on their upcoming album "Angels of Destruction." Whiskey Bender Productions has begun posting outtakes from our Glorious Noise video features. The first outtake is an acoustic version of the DGeneration song "Capital Offender" performed by DGeneration founding members Jesse Malin and Richard Bacchus during an October 2006 gig at Schubas Tavern in Chicago. Both Jesse and Richard put out great albums this year. Hear songs from Jesse's third solo album "Glitter in the Gutter" at Jesse's MySpace site. The DVD of Whiskey Bender Productions' "The Long Way Around: One Badass Year With Two Cow Garage" is now available via Miles of Music. The full-length documentary is packaged with a bonus DVD of Two Cow Garage performing at The Abbey Pub in Chicago in 2005 (this is a full show... not just a few songs). The fine folks at M.O.M. have given the DVD their stamp of approval by listing it as a "Cracker". This means the DVD comes with a Miles of Music guarantee that you will like the documentary or they will buy it back from you. That's pretty damn good praise!

The Glorious Noise/Whiskey Bender Productions documentary entitled "For A Happy Ending" will be screened on Monday, May 7th, 2007 at Schubas Tavern in Chicago. The documentary tells the story of The Chamber Strings who released two critically acclaimed albums, "Gospel Morning" in 1999 and "Month Of Sundays" in 2001, and seemed poised to follow in the footsteps of fellow Chicagoans Smashing Pumpkins & Wilco as "the next big thing"... until everything fell apart. The film details the band's formation, rise to (near) fame, bitter break-up and its recent reunion at the Double Door in Chicago. The story is told through interviews, archival pictures, rehearsal footage and live performances.

The screening will kick-off The Chamber Strings "Month of Mondays" (the band's Monday night residency at Schubas during the month of May). Doors open at 8pm with the film starting promptly at 9pm followed by a full set from The Chamber Strings.

The latest Glorious Noise/Whiskey Bender Productions video feature has been posted to the Glorious Noise website. Will Johnson (leader of Centro-Matic and South San Gabriel) visited Glorious Noise during his recent midwestern solo tour and played several songs for the GloNo video crew, including a new Centro-Matic song entitled "Atlanta".

The most recent Whiskey Bender Productions/Glorious Noise video feature has been posted at gloriousnoise.com. It's a two-part video feature on New York-based singer/songwriter Jesse Malin. If you don't know Jesse's music, check out the video because he's one of the best songwriters working today, and he's a phenomenal live performer. If you're already a fan of Jesse's, you won't want to miss these videos. Part 1 details Jesse's musical journey from hardcore teenager in Heart Attack through his 90's band D Generation to his current solo career. Part 2 focuses on Jesse's new album entitled "Glitter In The Gutter". Both parts feature an interview and live performances from an October 2006 show at Schubas in Chicago.
