Revivals are a very important part to the maturing of the
Body of Christ. But as a rule they can be a bit parasitic to the host church
and when they are finished the church is anemic (no blood) and weakened. We are
in the first stages of a possible revival here at MorningStar and one of my
jobs is to not let that happen. First by taking care of the home flock that God
has sent us, and looking past the revival towards occupying the land that was
captured during the revival. I am totally blessed that God may have chosen us
to host what could be a really strong move of God. But the bible says; “the
gates of hell will not prevail against the Church” not the revival. Revival is
actually meant to strengthen the church not weaken it. And I believe it doesn’t
have to weaken the host like most revivals do. My faith is we will actually
beat the odds and be stronger when it is over.

As I was getting close to the stairwell where we have worship and prayer yesterday, the thought struck me; “I wish I could be alone there with you Jesus”. Sure enough, it was just him and me. There was this mystical feeling as I worshiped there that is uncommon to me, I don’t know what it was, but I know it was real. I’d like to find a way to transfer that into a group setting, but I don’t even know how to relive it by myself, it really could get addicting.

I have been rethinking my conception of strength. I gather
almost every morning with a group of worshipers in one of our stairwells for
worship and prayer every morning. It’s only a handful but the power that is
released sometimes is much greater than anything I’ve felt on the stage. A new
song I wrote about the cross came to me last week there spontaneously. One of
the lines is; “Where only the weak survive”.

When Ricky Skaggs was with Dr. Billy Graham 2 weeks ago, he asked him what he would tell people if he ever preached again. He said; “Why I’d tell them about the Cross Ricky, I’d tell them about the Cross”. Here’s the most famous evangelist of all time, who’s lead more people to the Lord than anyone in history. It got me thinking, isn’t the Cross just a death machine? Why is it that the cross is almost all that Paul talked about? I’ve heard the cross preached many times and I still don’t understand it. And then it hit me, it can’t really be explained fully, it has to be revealed, and it has to be personal. We all need our own personal revelation of the cross and what it means.

It’s interesting to me that the bands that have taken their music to an art form level like Dave Mathews, U2, John Mayer, and a few others, all are filling stadiums and drawing huge crowds. And yet the church seems content with 2 chord, droney songs, sound alike melodies, and huge guitar sounds. I don’t get it? LEO

Vincent Delaidatti and I were talking last night about that
old song by Crosby, Stills and Nash; “Love the one you’re with”. The hook line
is; “When you can’t be with the one you love honey, love the one you’re with”.
Now I realize they were not thinking in a righteous fashion when they penned
these words, however for us as Christians, since we can’t be with the Lord
until we die, we can certainly love the people we are around. So since we can’t
be with the one we love honey, let’s love the ones we’re with.

A number of years ago I felt this (non-cancerous) thing
under my arm, it was just a bunch of cells trying to escape my body it seemed
like. But last week it would burn every time I put deodorant on. So I went and
had a doctor snip it off yesterday. We all seem to let things go that aren’t
all that bad until they start burning us. Maybe that’s why King David prayed;
“Search me Lord to see if there is any wicked way in me”. Let God search you
today. Then be willing to let him snip it off.

Have you ever had someone come up and ask you why you don’t
like him or her? The shocking thing is, it’s usually people I really like. The
lesson here is; many times we just don’t know what someone else is feeling
about us, particularly when it comes to the Lord. So if we can’t hear directly
from him, at least we can find out in the written word. The truth is he really
does like us, it’s written down about us, and it doesn’t matter how we feel,
and like is a much higher compliment than love.

There are very few young Generals. Even though they may be smarter and more up to date. Young people just haven’t made enough mistakes to learn from them. It takes years to make a General a General and many mistakes.

We should never wait for something to be “All God” before we
sign on to it. One time long ago Rick Joyner asked the Lord if a seeming move
of God was him or not and the Lord answered something like, “Oh it’s about 15%
me” (I can’t remember the exact percentage) But then the Lord said, “But that’s
a lot more than you’re used to”.
