Current mood:  nostalgic
..good times, great oldies.

papertrigger, signing off.

Saturday, June 27, 2009
Well friends, we had our first show in a while at Kung Fu Necktie last night with the band Armchair for the benefit of Weathervane and our good friend Brian Mctear.

I had a good time, and I saw others having a good time as well. It was a successful night for all. But, that is not the purpose of this blog entry...

In short, papertrigger's on fire, and like all things that are on fire, we are changing rapidly beyond our control. Two members of the band have left to seek their fortunes elsewhere, and we bid them great success in their endevours.

The three that are left are Josh Taylor, Adam Smith, and myself, Chris Manglos.

Bands go through these changes a lot, as I'm sure you know, and so we shall try our best to make the change gracefully. We have spent the last month reorganizing ourselves into a more effecient music machine, and to that end I'm sure there will be changes in the sound as well. Our immediate goals are to start recording demo's of new material as rapidly as possible, and most likely, we will be posting this material here on our myspace. Also, at some point, we are going to press some official copies of our "Snake Sale" album to distribute amongst the masses.

That is all. Thank you to our fervent supporters for giving us confidence, and our fervent detractors for giving us humility. Change can be a good thing, and we aim for that. As always, we will continue to try to make the best music on earth, with verrying success, but with great enthusiasm as always.

In this week's PW magazine, papertrigger (as well as our fellow drunken-pirate comrades drink up buttercup) are featured in "philly's biggest bands of 08" issue.

we're both "bands to watch" in the coming year.
I guess you're supposed to keep an eye out for us, in case we get into any mischief or anything.

thanks doug wallen, you're a nice guy.

Papertrigger

The five members of Papertrigger, all natives of Syracuse, N.Y., reconvened after college in Roxborough, of all places. Since then it's been a tidal wave of blog love, major-label interest, and exposure on NPR and Spin.com, thanks to nutty live shows and the boisterous Riot Lovers EP, a tankard-sloshing collection of sing-along rock spiked with piano, sax and brotherly harmonies. All that attention for the EP came before it even hit the streets, so the band's psyched to see what happens when they tour and complete an album this year. "Usually nothing happens with an EP," says drummer Brian James Dwyer. "It's exciting."

heres to grabbing the world by the tail.

Break out the herbal tea and fleece vests, papertrigger was featured on NPR's "second stage" program today (which in the past has spotlighted such burgeoning artists as Sufjan Stevens and Regina Spektor).

For the rull review, as well as downloadable segment of the show, you needn't go further than here.

cheers!

and, as always, make the yuletide gay.

CHECK YOUR PANTS.

the new RIOT LOVERS EP just got finished, and we're pleased with her.

to listen to the whole thing, buy one from www.papertrigger.com or pick one up at a show. you should definitely consider it too, because we really think this sounds great while wearing high-end headphones in your room or driving around in your car or walking down the street with your mp3 player of choice (we hired a special team of experts to fashion the music especially for those things, anyway).

plus it has pretty artwork and handmade inserts for your viewing pleasure.

say goodbye to your face.
