Hello Kelly Buchanan fans & friends,

This is Annie Burns, president of Kelly B.'s Insider Club. I'm writing you on behalf of Kelly because she is unable to use a computer in her current state.

I am unsure how many people reading this do not already know about Kelly's health condition...

On March 9, Kelly Buchanan suffered a traumatic brain injury after being hit by a ball while scrimmaging with her amateur hockey team in Brooklyn. In the weeks and months following, Kelly's health has been a roller coaster of recovery and relapse. Now 6 months after the injury occurred, Kelly remains unable to drive, take public transportation, type or read on a computer, or to work as a musician or in any other capacity.

Kelly's Injury & the devastating consequences

Kelly is recovering, slowly but surely. She is determined to work towards being able to not only walk without a cane, but to perform her music, and even play hockey again (with a helmet!).

Because so many people have asked to hear more details about how Kelly is recovering, I have reposted a letter Kelly wrote to her fellow hockey players following the injury on my website. In the letter, Kelly outlines her recovery, and begs her fellow players to wear a helmet.

It's not pretty, but it's honest, and in the end, Kelly is positive and hopeful about her experience.

Other ways to help: Gift Kelly's new album!

Many have people asked us how and where to donate money. Rather than donating straight cash, Kelly asks you buy her new album from iTunes instead. Or better yet, gift it to a friend!

Completed before her injury, and originally set for release in April of 2008, Kelly's had to postpone promoting her new album while she recovers.  When you gift her CD to a friend, Kelly keeps at least 70% of the cash you spend, and at the same time, you're be doing what she can't: helping her to promote her latest, greatest CD!

Gift Kelly's new CD on iTunes:

Or: If you'd rather just donate cash...

Donate money directly to Kelly though Paypal and entering the amount of your choice. You can make your donation via a credit card, electronic transfer (cash from bank account) or with a Paypal account.

Kelly is unable to read email or check her MySpace/Facebook.

The best way to send Kelly a message is the old-fashioned way.  Please direct Get-Well cards to:
Annie Burns
165 Hopkins Ave., #9
Jersey City, NJ 07306

And I will personally deliver them to Kelly.

One last thing, in preparation for her CD release, Kelly spent the months before her injury redesigning her website, MySpace, and getting amazing new photographs. She's been unable to share these things with you because of her injury. Links to all are available on Kelly's new and improved website!

Thanks for reading! We hope to see you all on September 10th!

Best,
Annie
