1997, we made our entry into the music arena, with a lyric, "3canal come dong with a brand new song" referring to the debut release "Blue", Now 12 years later, we say "3canal come dong with a brand new Sound" this is in reference to the new Music from the '09 Album Joy + Fire.

This album is the nucleus around which we have crafted our season for 2009. So on Sunday 18th January, this will all come together as we will launch the 12 track Album [Joy+Fire], The 3canal Show [Joy+Fire], and The Jouvay [Paradise?] at the Queen's Hall Couirtyard, St Ann's.

3canal has joined forces with Amnesty International and designated their Annual Concert ReThePublic as one of Amnesty's Small Places Tour events. The Initiative is part of Amnesty's global thrust to increase awareness of Human Rights in its 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The concert features 3canal and the cut+clear crew live fresh from their European Summer Tour as well as some special guests. Come Dong, have a time, Raise the Vibrations and Make a Difference. Think Globally Act Locally.
The event takes place on Monday 22nd Sept at the Queen's Hall, St Ann's Trinidad. Part proceeds will go towards the Jeffrey Chock medical Expenses Fund. Tickets are $150 general and $200 reserved, available at Queen's Hall Box Office.

This year marks ten years since we began recording music, in what we call a Musical Adventure. This adventure in now taking us to WOMEX in Seville, Spain!. This is a great opportunity for us. WOMEX features the largest gathering of Booking agents, journalists, Record labels, etc on the World Music scene. Every year several hundred artistes submit their music and a mere 36 are chosen. So Seville here we come!
So how does one prepare for such an important step?

We have been examining our repetoire of over 100 songs to identify the best set to exemplify the richness of music from Trinidad & Tobago. We conducted a poll in our facebook group to determine which songs people liked, and there were some surprises, among which was that SALT, according to the Poll is the 2nd most popular song! For that reason we have included that song on our Myspace Music Player for free download complete with Lyrics, and have included it in our set list.

We are rehearsing our band the cut + clear crew, in preparation for a live concert ReThePublic [Sep 22+23], which we will record to create our very first LIVE ALBUM. This album will be our main promo for our WOMEX Showcase.

Quite apart from all this we are also on a major fund raising drive to fund our tour, but more on that later.
