This year is the 5th Annual Naturopathic Gathering and marks the return to SCNM, where it was created by students to gain access to the elders of our profession to learn about and discuss the philosophy and spirit of Naturopathic Medicine.

In these 4 years of medical education, it is easy to get caught up in our heads and forget why we came to this profession. The Naturopathic Gathering provides the opportunity to reacquaint yourself with your own heart and the heart of your medicine.

 Members,

If you've taken the time to read through today's AANP news then you have an
idea of what is underway.  If not, here's the scoop......

Our very own CNDA member, Shannon Sinsheimer, has been in discussions with
Roland Perez from PBS over the last year about doing a mini-series on
Naturopathic Medicine to air on PBS in California and other markets.  With
our help, she's been able to get the AANP's attention who is now backing the
project. Once the series is complete, we will have rights to the footage so
that we can provide it to members in forms such as DVDs and web based video
that CNDA Members can use for your website.  But most important is the
awareness it will create of Naturopathic Medicine nationally.

Details about the project are below so please take a minute to read what is
near ready to happen.  However, in order to make this a reality we need to
immediately raise $10,000 to contribute to the cost of the series.

If you go to the CALND.ORG <http://www.calnd.org> there is a link at the top
you can use to DONATE to the PBS Series on Naturopathic Medicine.  A
suggested amount is $100 or $200 but any amount you can comfortably give is
gladly accepted and appreciated.  Just click on the link and you can pay by
Credit Card or Paypal if you have a Paypal account.  To get things started,
I am personally donating $200 to the cause.

Please consider giving today and if you know anyone else that might be
willing to donate a small amount, even $20, such as a friend, family member
or patient they can give using the same link at our website.

____Details on the PBS Opportunity____

Roland Perez produces a show called American Health Journal which currently
airs in 158 cities across the United States on Turners Healthy Living
Channel and on PBS.  His host, Roger Cooper, was just awarded an Emmy.
Roland has just finished a three-part series on osteopathic medicine and has
captured the imagination and universal support of his top 10 PBS stations
around a naturopathic series.  The naturopathic series will consist of  (7)
30 minute shows for a 13 week season with reruns under the Banner of
"Discovery in Alternative Medicine" hosted by PBS host Roger Cooper with  a
co-host.

Roland has secured financial backing from PBS and some of their sponsors
(including Toshiba) for the project.  Our financial commitment/match is
$80,000.  For that, we retain complete ownership rights after the show has
aired in one PBS market.  *In this case it will first run in the PBS region
containing **California**, **Washington** and **Oregon*.  Subsequently, any
PBS region retains the rights to pick up the shows.

Help us MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
