I truly honor those students that train and compete.  The martial arts are for everyone.  There is a style of martial arts for every personality.  We have over 2000 contacts on our email list.  We had less than 100 students train last month.  I understand economy and I understand many of our contact are no longer in the area.  For those that are still in Onslow county I encourage you to come and be part of our team once again.  The system is unmatched by any martial art school in this region.  The stats speak for themselves.  For example:

Once again I would like to congratulate all students that competed in the NAGA and Karate Tournament this weekend.  We had 9 competitors from weapons kata and empty hand kata to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to grappling.  ALL NINE STUDENTS PLACED IN THEIR RESPECTIVE DIVISIONS.

A special congratulations go to Jackson Beatty whom won two first place trophies.  ....Chico.... and Phil won swords (1st place) at the NAGA.

Congratulations to Sensei Evan who earned a $1000 scholarship for college this fall.

The team is a power house of martial arts.  The character education of the karate program has been rated in the top 10 character education programs in the county by NBC dateline.  The Leadership Course was recognized by the World Karate Union Black Belt Hall of Fame.  The competition team and demo teams have been recognized locally and nationally as amateurs and as professionals.

I would also like to recognize a few special students that make all the teaching and running the school a very special part of my life.  These students are the backbone and heart of the school.

Mr. Tommy

I know I always run the risk of leaving someone out and I’m sorry if I have.  Understand I am very greatful for all members of the school.

Thanks to all the instructors that train us.  Thank you to all the parents that support their children in the program.  Earning the black belt will be one of the greatest gifts you will give your children.  I feel bad for all those that will miss out on this great honor.  The confidence and discipline training teaches is a trait that will last a lifetime.

If you haven’t taken part of our special events I encourage you to do so soon.

Current mood:  accomplished

Congratulations to Jackson Beatty and Davin Turner who received their Black Belts in Kempo Karate on Saturday.  Both students have trained for over 5 years to earn this rank.  Both have been demo team members and role models for lower belts.  Both have been through the Leadership Course.  Both have been successful competitors in tournaments.  I am very proud of the progress Davin and Jackson have made through the martial arts and I look forward to more.

Congratulations also go to Mr. Dyer, Kirsten Turner and Liz Honeycutt for earning stripes on their brown belts.  They should be testing for Black Belt within the next 12 months.

We have 30 Black Belts in the system now that were promoted by Sensei Wright.  Can wait to promote 30 more.

CHeck out our pics of the group at the seminar.  Charuto is BJ Penn's "sensei"  He is a 3rd degree black belt in BJJ and a UFC and EliteXC veteran.  He was also a star in one of the Tapout shows.  HE taught an awesome seminar and for those that didn't make it you missed out.
