Can we talk about cars for a minute? Have you noticed how many car manufacturers have started churning out cars that look as much like Hummers as they can possibly make them without getting sued? (I don't know if this applies anywhere else apart from the USA....hopefully the rest of the world is more sensible).
So here we are, at a time when the topic of global warming and fossil fuels is getting scarier by the day and US troops are getting killed everyday because of Bush's oil lust (what, you thought the US went in there to save the poor Iraqi people?) and the car manufacturers are willingly abandoning the streamlined, aerodynamic, more fuel efficient styles of vehicles to build ugly square, squat boxes on wheels to pander to the morons who aspire to own a hummer but can't afford them. A few examples. Toyota get the prize for the closest rip off of a real humvee, Jeep blatently altered the Cherokee to bring it closer to the humvee and Honda have their wannabe humvee model too.
Are people buying Hummers because they're so macho and military looking? If so, I think that's in pretty poor taste too. Ask the hundreds of surviving troops who've driven over roadside bombs in Iraq and lost limbs and fellow soldiers if Humvees are really cool to drive. The bloody things are inadequately protected death traps. Or at least they were until the US decided, after many, many lives were already lost, to upgrade the armor on them.
That's it...I'm done.
