Many to Many, men on this earth.
Come to power from the day of their birth.
They grow and they thrive on thoughts from our minds.
It's really no wonder their emotions are blind.
For when they cry their tears are ice,
and when they laugh it's a physical vice.
For they know not themselves and they have no soul.
To control the world is their only goal.
The feed off our land and the sweat from our backs.
They'll take from you all or something you lack.
They live for the power, they live for the glory.
When they talk of their lives, it's a fictional story.
Yet all too soon, they're dead and gone.
Yet in their place, a new one will carry on.
Who will follow the footsteps of the past just the same.
They never will know you, not even your name.
So just remember if you ever meet any,
that one, just one,
is many to many!

This ring, I give you, has something to say.

It holds the beauty, of your own special way.

It says that I love you, it calls out your name.

Together, forever, we'll play its love game.

This ring, I give you, has powers they say.

Its magic love song, will sweep us away.

It says that I need you, and want you to stay.

My deep love for you dear, will grow every day.

This ring, I give you, has meaning they say.

Of love and friendship, it's a beautiful play.

It holds me so tightly, in arms that are strong.

Our lips meet so softly, the night sings our song.

This ring, I give you, I give from my heart.

And nothing ever, shall keep us apart.

Our minds and our bodies, will be one in the same.

I love you my darling, more and more every day.

Hey Everyone,

I am so proud and excited to announce that my latest CD The Awakening is officially available on CD Baby, ITunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and other web sites starting today.

This has been a labor of love and I have so many people to thank for this wonderful project, I don't even know where to begin.  But Thank you to everyone out there who made this possible.  The music was re-mastered by Rainbo Records in LA and they did a fab job.  Stacey Austin and her beautiful The Awakeing Painting was a work of art so fitting of this CD cover and the way the digi pack and included poster came out was great.  Fred my co-producer for his tireless help, my wonderful family who supported me ever bit of the way and Big Al Bowman & Suzanne Griffie who showed me so many possibilities for the future, thank you to you all.

Thanks again and everyone be sure to pick up your copy of The Awakening at CD Baby today.

Peace Love and Much Happiness - Today Tomorrow and Forever.  MARK

Lullaby (Pray for the Child)

Music, Refrain & Verse Modifications by Mark Barnes

Verse 1 & 2 by Anonymous, Verse 3 by Jane Taylor (1806)

1. Rock-a-bye baby, in the treetop,

When the wind blows, the cradle will rock,

When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall,

And down will come baby, cradle and all.

2. Now, hush little baby, don’t say a word,

Mama will buy you, a mockingbird.

And if that ole bird, refuses to sing,

Then mama will buy you, a new diamond ring

R. Pray for the child, so humble and meek.

Pray for the child, the smiles they seek.

Pray for the child, the hope it instills.

That friendship and your love can cure all their ills.

3. Twinkle, twinkle, bright little star,

How I do wonder, what you are.

Up above, the world so high,

Like a diamond, there in the sky.

R. Pray for the child, so humble and meek.

Pray for the child, the smiles they seek.

Pray for the child, the hope it instills.

That friendship and your love can cure all their ills.

That friendship and your love "will" cure all their ills.

CHRISTMAS MEMORIES

Music & Lyrics by: Mark Barnes & Mark Barnes Music ©2008

The snow is falling on this Christmas Eve.

The old familiar carols play.

The presents wrapped,

and tucked beneath the tree.

The Angel looks down,

upon me.

The fire's burning,

And the light are low.

My dear I have you in my arms.

Recalling all of the memories,

of all my Christmas Eve's.

The joy that they bring,

the love that I feel.

Go swirling all throughout my head,

a tear goes falling down my cheek.

Of mom and her cards,

and dad with his tape.

Of little things,

my sisters did,

to make this holiday sweet.

Of lights on the house,

and the storefront displays.

Of turkey and

of mistletoe,

of waking on Christmas day.

The snow's still falling on this Christmas Eve,

and dear you're still here in my arms.,

Past memories fade,

as I realize

I'll make,

more memories,

with you.

Merry Christmas

It happens to the best of us,

when we're really unprepared.

It hits us right between the eyes,

like bombs falling from the air.

Verbal sounds from distorted mouths,

expand from ear to ear.

Exciting hearts to kinfolk tortures,

a burden hard to bear.

A voice beseached the heavens,

a voice cries from the night.

The spirit in the soul of man,

decides who's wrong or right.

A world at war with itself and time,

and the puppets there who commit the crimes.

It is said that if your pure in heart,

That good will stay and evil depart.

Yet the beast in man goes beyond,

and the forces do nothing but fight.

Maybe someday when our devil is gone,

we'll be able to sleep at night.

The Prayer (for the Cure)

Music By Mark Barnes

Lyrics By Mark Barnes and Michael D. Dowdy

God, I look to you, for comfort and for strength,

I see all around suffering, but yet I see great faith.

Say a prayer, for our Mothers,

let us say a prayer, for all who’ve gone.

A prayer to end the heartache, the pain and the tears,

a prayer for the children, and those, we’ve have loved.

Oh dear God, Please guide us.

Put your courage, in our hearts

Into you, we put our faith in.

And in Miracles, We still believe

God, they look to you, for comfort and for strength,

they see all around suffering, but yet they know great faith.

Say a prayer, for our Daughters,

let us Say a prayer, for all who’ve gone.

A prayer to end the heartache, the pain and the tears,

a prayer for the children, and those, we’ve loved.

Different faiths, different colors,

stand as one, for the cure.

Sharing hope, and compassion,

such precious gifts, from God above.

God, we look to you, for comfort and for strength,

we see all around suffering, but yet we feel great faith.

Say a prayer, for our Sisters,

let us Say a prayer, for all who’ve gone.

A prayer to end the heartache, the pain and the tears,

a prayer for the children, and to those, we’ve loved.

...and have lost.

Say a prayer!

I LOVE YOU ©2006

Music by:
MARK BARNES

Lyrics by: MARK BARNES & FRED ZIMMERMAN

I love you, I love you,

Let these feelings show.

I love you, I love you,

Let these feelings grow.

Yet there within my heart

A feeling deep with sorrow grows

It's calling out your name,

But you don't see the tears it shows

It cries to me inside,

Let me be, let me free.

You don't know what it means to be with you.

I love, the way you make me feel.

I love, the way you make me smile.

I love, the way you make me see.

That I Love You.

I love you, I love you,

Let these feelings show.

I love you, I love you,

Let these feelings grow.

And still within my heart

A feeling deep with wonder grows

Of the joy that love will bring

And the hope you'll see it show

What I see there is your eyes,

Takes me far beyond the skies.

I can't image life without you there.

I love, the way you make me feel.

I love, the way you make me smile.

I love, the way you make me see.

That I Love You.

I love you, I love you,

Let these feelings show.

I love you, I love you,

Let these feelings grow.

It's your special day Nana,

and I want you to know,

Happy Birthday dear Nana,

and that I love you so.

Oh, the wheels on that bus,

that went round and around.

A bushel and a peck,

and your hugs round my neck.

And when I look back,

when I was a boy.

Just 5 years old,

with tears in my eyes.

And the candles were lit,

the cake in mom's hands.

Singing happy birthday to you,

and doing everything I can,

not to blow them out,

for you to quickly.

And to make it last,

to show you we care.

I know you could hear me,

as I sang loud and strong.

Even though you were sleeping,

you were there….you were there all along.

It's your special day Nana,

and I want you to know,

Happy Birthday dear Nana,

and that I miss you so.

All the times that you read,

all those books that I like.

When I was scared, you were there,

with your kisses good night.

And when I look back,

when I was a boy.

Just 5 years old,

with tears in my eyes.

And the candles were lit,

the cake in mom's hands.

Singing happy birthday to you,

and doing everything I can,

not to blow them out,

for you to quickly.

And to make it last,

to show you we care.

I know you could hear me,

as I sang loud and strong.

Even though you were sleeping,

you were there, you were there all along.

I know you can hear me,

as I sing loud and strong.

Even though you are sleeping,

you'll be here, you'll be here all along.
