Hey, thanks to the fans and friends that let us know about this Newsday top 10.

"3. Easy Anthems, "Easy Anthems" - Philip and Vanesa Jimenez have created a hard-to-define album - perhaps the best adjective is "beautiful." Tracks such as "BB Shooting" and "When R U Gunna Break?" make this a perfect rainy-day disc." -NEWSDAY

We were in a drugstore on Halloween and the whole place was decked out for Christmas,,,, Santa and Rudolph decorations and songs were everywhere.
Ah, here it is, another capitalist X-mass for the whole fam. What can you do?
Then we thought, hey, it would be interesting to get together with some friends and record more traditional hymns and carols,, some stuff that explored spirituality, songs of praise, proclamation songs, songs that shout out for unity of all nations and the sole,,, things like that.
We though maybe,, record a few tracks to put up for our fans on our site, and that we could give out as a sort of homemade gift this Christmas. With hope, it could counter balance the hustle bustle of it all,,, at least in our home,, but more importantly, if there is a way, turn our attention toward the much more needy of this world we share.
At the same time, we'd been struggling with the idea of putting together a full band for the Easy Anthems project, and thought this would be a great way to try the idea out. So, we called up a few musician friends we admire & love working with. They all said they wanted to be involved.
Two weeks later we had a full length record, and when we listened back we found ourselves being deeply moved by carols and hymns we had heard a thousand times before,,,, but somehow discovered a new relevance for in our lives.
We are not selling it. We are sharing it. It is called 'HARK!' and you can download it for free on our website. If you like it, pass it 'round. We are also making up hard copies purely to raise funds for the poor, sick, and less fortunate this holiday season.
Love and happiness,
Philip & Vanesa
