Hungry For My Baby's Love

Ain’t looking for no midnight snack
Don’t need no pat on the back
So if you think I’m grumbling
It’s just ‘cause I’m hungry
For my baby’s love
I just can’t get enough of it

Sometimes I’m slow and sometimes I’m fast
Sometimes I can hardly go ‘cause I’m running out of gas
So if you see me stumbling
It’s just ‘cause I’m hungry
For my baby’s love
My baby’s love

And it don’t take no uranium
To make this power plant glow, no no
If my heart starts cooling
Can’t be fooling around
It’s got to be high-test love
Don’t you know

So if you see me pallid and gray
Maybe it’s just because I’m fading away
Ain’t good for nothing
If I’m hungry for my baby’s love
Just can’t get enough

So next time I’m feeling fatigue
I think by now you know just what it is I need
Ain’t no use in mumbling
If I’m hungry for my baby’s love
I just can’t get enough of
My baby’s love
Yeah I’m hungry etc etc etc.

12/08 Americana CD of The Month
By Barry McCloud

When I listened I was on a time journey back to my folk club and folk agency days back at the end of the 60's.
Del's voice is a mix of Jack and Chicken Soup; edgy yet feel good. Hearing him and I am reliving the essence of Stefan Grossman, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Mungo Jerry and then I hear the Lovin' Spoonful in full glory and then someone is playing the harp and lo and behold it is old John Sebastian actually playing what sounds to me like
a Marine Band.
There's also some great bottleneck from Tommy Burroughs that takes me back to Mike Chapman. Man, this is one of the best CDs to cross my desk. Next time Del, get your next CD to me sooner so that I can rave quicker!!

ALBUM REVIEW: Goldfarb's "Up To My Neck" a must-have for purists
By David Malachowski

..............................

Delmark Goldfarb of Portland, Ore., is a singer, songwriter and guitarist and a bit of a blues historian. His nine-song CD even sports guest appearances by Woodstock legend John Sebastian (on harmonica) as well as North Mississippi Allstars’ Cody Dickinson on drums.

Goldfarb’s aching raspy voice just floats over finger picked acoustic guitar in “Shoot the Angels Down."

This fare is infectious – David Bromberg comes to mind, as does maybe Dan Hicks. “I Need Your Love” actually swings, powered by slide guitar and brushes and Goldfarb’s laconic verses and lazy voice. Other highlights include “Don’t Bring Me No Flowers” and “Portable Man.”

The album is a must-have for purists.
