Dear Friends,
Please have a listen to this week's episode of Radio KUL with Simon Lee and Alvin where you'll hear me, Lo-Fi Sugar playing guest host.

Simon Lee and Alvin are podcasters and trance DJs from Malaysia. Formed in 2007, their style is melodic, vocal, and uplifting mainstream primetime dance music. Over the past 3 years, they have rapidly put Malaysia on the map as a global destination and an Asian home to trance music. On the radio, you can hear them each week on the official Simon Lee and Alvin podcast, Radio KUL, through which the duo brings you your favourite electronic dance music in a non stop mix. This extremely successful radio show continues to win the hearts of music lovers around the globe through its diverse playlist of both mainstream and exclusive tracks from both local and international DJs and producers by working with record labels and unsigned artistes.

Darlings,

A very talented animator/aritst/director has just released our first stop-animation music video. His name is Charles Pieper and you should get to know more of his work. The young man is brilliant. He is also very dedicated to his work and (in our humble opinion) he has really captured the essence of one of our soon-to-be-released songs, called "Waltz To Montana"

Consider this a little visual taste of what is to come on our full length album called  "Quadrilogy" which will be released later this year.

We love you

YEOW!!! A beautiful release from another Vandit artist, Kuffdam. Lo-Fi Sugar is honored to have contributed some silky vocals to the track.

A little promo ditty about the track:
Dark, decadent and utterly delicious, our favourite Scottish DJ/producer Kuffdam’s latest release The Last Time is definitely on our hot list for summer tunes.  With a laundry list of top shelf supporters and tracks so hot, they threaten to melt the decks, Kuffdam knows precisely how to push his music to the very edge.  Back with the next installment for former Kuffdam & Plant alum, this vocal trancer, stands as yet another reason why this talented Scot is at the top of OUR list.

Showcasing singer/songwriter LO-FI Sugar whose work on Paul van Dyk’s most recent album In Between was absolute dance music perfection, this collaboration is one you won’t want to miss.  Lush, dark and beautiful, the track strikes a perfect balance between the electric energy of pumping beats and the ethereal beauty of Heather’s distinctive vocals.  And though it can be easy to overpower such soft vocals, Kuffdam manages to draw out the full beauty whilst weaving a soft web of melodic perfection around it all.  Make no mistake, this is truly a shining example of what vocal trance is supposed to be!

With a killer remix by VANDIT masters Reaves & Ahorn, The Last Time takes a slightly more aggressive approach as this rocking duo kick it up a notch.  Yet the harder edge seems to suit this dark edged little track, bringing out yet another facet, all while keeping true to the spirit of the original. But don’t listen to us, let your ears be the judge!  Just be warned, once you crank the music up, you won’t wanna turn it back down!!

Most wonderful Paul Van Dyk has joined forces with dance elite Jon O'Bir, Kyau and Albert and Super 8 and Tab and will release a new remix album this month called "Hands On In Between"

One of the songs being released is a remix of "Castaway" (one of Lo-Fi Sugar's contributions to the In Between album)!!! It's a beautiful remix and samples can be heard on PVD's myspace page : www.myspace.com/paulvandyk

Here's the full album description:

This latest installation kicks off with Talk in Grey; a stunning collaboration with indie-rocker Ryan Merchant whose retro-pop vocals are at once sinfully masculine and intensely emotive. Evoking only the very best of a genre which so obviously strikes a chord with van Dyk, this mix is sure to be seeing heavy rotation from LA to Bombay as fans croon along to the wicked chorus!

Next up is a classic Jon O'Bir interpretation of Castaway featuring the ethereal voice of LA native Lo-Fi Sugar. And like all his productions, this gorgeously nuanced remix distills the velvety energy of Paul van Dyk's original while creating an intense wash of reverb laden vox and powerful basslines. With its intoxicating vocals and brilliant re-visioning by O'Bir, its impossible to imagine a better match!

Rounding out the latter half of Hands on In Between are two of Paul van Dyk's three album collaborations with singer/songwriter Ashley Tomberlin. Originally known for her work as Luminary, their tracks New York City and Complicated leave audiences continuing the journey where Luminary left off. Often fragile, but always honest, with Super 8 and Tab on remix duties NYC carefully departs from the moody sirens and city sounds of the original while managing to stay true to its emotional roots. Complicated also receives a nuanced rebirth with Kyau and Albert who draw out the trancier side with gorgeously melodic flourishes and a heavy nod to some of the original elements that gave Complicated such a unique flavour to begin with.

Vinyl out 7th of August, watch out for the full package with 4 additional remixes available as digital downloads by September all around the world!

3 bits of News:

1) The Night Divine Video produced and directed by Jeremy Jed Hammel and the Lady Random team was accepted to view at the "Dances With Films" independent film festival in Los Angeles. It is a great accomplishment and we have JJ Hammel to thank for it :)

2) "Set On the Prize" is a brand new Twist My DJ records (www.www.twistmydj.com) release available on Beatport.com. It is a collaborative effort, between Lo-Fi Sugar and a most wonderful DJ Ceeryl out of France. There are 4, count 'em 4, mixes available. Listen, choose your favorite, and by that sh*t!

3) Lo-Fi Sugar is currently working with THE BEST PRODUCER IN THE WHOLE WORLD (as far as Heather is concerned), Jean Marc Brissat aka Briss on brand new songs. It is a slow, delicate process, but we promise to have new songs for you by next year. And boy, oh boy, are we excited!!!!
