With not working right now, I have the opportunity to get a little more riding into my days.

We have open arena at church on Thursday evenings. So Sam and I get some practice and relaxed riding time along with GREAT fellowship!

Then on Fridays, we now have Team Penning Practice.

We are having a great crowd come and we all have tons and tons of FUN! I am very impressed on how wonderful Sam is doing.

Yes we have tons more to polish on but Sam and I are getting the hang of things and LOVING the Penning!

Here are some pics from this past Friday night.

And we got two penned! Way to go girls! No one got three all night.. All we could get in was two. Decent time as well. Not too shabby for just starting out with the penning - LOL

Saturday evenings are our Team Roping and then Bull Riding events. Sam and I carry the Christian flag for our color guard and then we help out with chasing the bulls back to the chutes. At first it was a bit scary…but I love my Sam! He knows which bulls to push and which ones he will NOT mess with. He knows! And again we have so much fun! Got to tell you it’s a major adrenalin rush! LOVE IT!

Sunday we went to church, had lunch then went to Van & Holly’s House to ride some more.
They are a sweet family from church! Their little one (Lane) is about the same age as Lulu and they played together and it was so cute to watch them. Lane got his Mommas horse and Lulu on Sam and they walked around their arena…..Don’t they look so cute!

So we had a very busy weekend but any time I get to spend on the back of my horse….be it playing or working those cows…it’s all good!

Would love to invite everyone out to come play on Friday for Team Penning………………………

School is back and this year is a HUGE mile marker for us..........
Lenzy had her first day at Pre-K! It literally seems like just yesterday we were changing diapers and cooing and awing over our beautiful grand baby.
Well....she is going up so fast and she a such a breath of fresh air for Justin and I!

We packed up in the truck to head to school.... She was so excited!
All the way there (A whole 5 minutes - LOL) she kept asking "Are we there yet?"

I took the camera out and.......well........

You can just tell by the expression of her face!
When we went shopping for all her new clothes and supplies, we had a hard time finding a "back pack" to meet her liking. She wanted something different then everyone else. She begged me to make her one of my "wrangler bags" but they were gonna be too big. So we improvised...........Went to Wallie World and found the perfect size bag and you guessed it....I had to "BLING BLING" her bag.
And she choose on her own what was put on that bag! She is my Little Cowgirl Lulu for sure!

Once we get to her school, off we go. Hand in hand! I was so proud of my Lulu. She was also proud that her Popo was able to go with us. He was our handy photographer - LOL

She went right in and plopped herself down and started making friends right away.
That's my girl!

By 3:00 it was then time to get our girl from her first day of Pre-K!
She chatted all the way home on how she loves school and can't wait to go back!

Little does she know that she will do this for another 12 years......hopefully she will have the same wonderful attitude year after year!

GREAT GROUP! This was the first ride for Jesse (Kim B Hubby) in a long long time. He was riding their new horse Bo. Bo came off a race track nad he did AWESOME on the trails!!!! From what I hear - poor Jesse is sore from all the riding -LOL.

We got thru the ride with NO MIS-HAPS!

At the end of the ride, we had the oppurtunity to get a group pic thanks to Jim having his tripod! We lined everyone up and got a GREAT group pic!

Enjoy the pics..........................................

What a day! We had our Texas Trail Riding Group monthly meet and Greet at San Jacinto River. Can I just say ---FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN!!! We had 14 members there - Myself and Tanner, Kim Christian, Christi Hester, Judit Dabis, ManWai Bjarnason, Pamela Rosenberger, Kathy & Ron Owens, Cathy Hamm, Kimberly Barker, Dawn & her niece Kimmie, and last but not least Chrystal. What a nice turn out!

Once everyone trickled in and parked, we all saddled up & headed for the water. Boy was it was hot! Everything went very smoothly all day. Once we got down to the river bank, we (I-lol) decided to get a group photo of the gang. The photo is missing 4 people - myself, the photographer, Chrystal, Kimmie, & Dawn who got there later on.

Everyone besides myself & Kim C were "newbies" to the river. They were calling themselves "The River Virgins" - LOL So at the end of the ride EVERYONE got a ribbon for their new experience - LOL

Like I said previously, everything went so smoothly and great. No one came off their horse or even got too wet for that matter. There were a few mushy holes we sunk in, but for the most part we all did great. The water was nice and cool even though that sand got HOT!

After venturing up the river for awhile, we decided we needed to take a short rest break in some shade. Some of the horses today were getting a work out they have never had before! Rest time was over and we then headed back down stream to the trailers. During the ride I had mentioned that there were 1-2 Bald Eagles nesting in the river and then low and behold..........................a Bald Eagle flew right over our heads and landed on a branch WAY WAY high in some trees. Thanks to Kims photography, we got a few pics - LOL It was just so awesome!

We get back to the trailers and I see a Montgomery County Sheriff Patrol Car at my trailer and my heart sunk. But it was my hubby. He's a deputy for Montgomery County and my first thought was oh no what happened. He had stopped by in between calls and was trying to play a prank on me by taking the trailer gate off the stock trailer. But hehehehe I caught him. He thought we would have been riding for a longer time. It was too funny. I guess I got him instead of him snagging me .

I unsaddled poor Sam and gave him a rest. I had brought a watermelon for after the ride. That was refreshing! Everyone visited and ate watermelon and relaxed. It's such a great feeling to know I am meeting wonder new "Horsey" people!

Everyone started loading up to leave but poor Kimberly had a few problems getting her cute Appy loaded. So after some pulling and tugging and pushing (LOL) we FINALLY got her in the trailer. As Kim and I (last ones there) were about to leave, here comes Dawn, Kimmie, & Chrystal. They had gotten to the river late and still decided to go ride. I am glad we got to meet up with them and visit.

We ALL said our goodbye and headed for home - FINALLY. GREAT DAY!!

..

It starts on very very late Friday night. I'm talking with Karen and we decide come rain or sunshine we are riding in the morning! The weather here has been so crazy. Heather who owns Rafter T Ranch was online as well and we have been talking about going to check out her ranch, so at last minute we decide to go see Heather and watch her at work.

I load trailer and get over to Karens to get her and the horses (Sam & Pepper).

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket (Pepper)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket (Sam)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket We got a kick out this...Pepper is sooooo big to poor Sam - LOL

Everything going great. We are both so excited about FINALLY having the oppurtunity to ride. We get gas and head for Rafter T Ranch. What a L-O-N-G drive but SO WORTH IT!!!!!!

We get horses unloaded and saddled. Heather and her 2 boys get saddled as well. She has great boys! They are both such gentlemen and sweet.

So now we are off - Yepee......................

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

BEAUTIFUL trails! Heather... now I understand why you don't come out to the 2666 trails too often. With these trails in your backyard...................................

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

WOW............................

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Can we just say we had a BLAST!!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Here are Heather's Boys........such a great pair! They kept us laughing the whole ride !

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

More fun......................

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I had to get this pic on my blog. Heather has her companions as she rides on the trails. This is her lab who just HAS to get in every mud puddle!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Heather had warned us that she would have to rotate horses. Karen and I didn't care ..... heck as long as we were riding-lol!!!

Here is Heather on a VERY tall Throughbred she is training. Poor girl would NOT listen at first and Heather had to have her Circle Cirlce Circle. Hehehehe. We got a kick watching.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Heather went from a tall horse to this wonderful little paint. She was a cutie!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We had to have a picture time in a batch of sunflowers out on the trails. Like I said BEAUTIFUL trails!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Me & my faithful SamPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Karen and Pepper

I couldn't resist getting this photo........................Poor Heather on the little paint and Karen on her huge Pepper - LOL

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

So after going on the trails two different times, 4 hours later, and about 10 miles later we get back to the ranch and cool off and relax a little before heading out to the Ranch Rodeo in Cold Springs. Well Karen and I decide to drive into town to grab a bite to eat so we can give poor Heather and her family a chance to get ready for their rodeo.

Man is it great to be in aircondition and fill up on food! Now we are get ready to go to Ranch Rodeo to watch Heather and Hubby & Monie and her other half compete in the rodeo. BUT...........................our luck ran out!

Karen had followed me in her little car so if we needed to run into town we didn't have to unhook truck. What a great idea! we never left the ranch until time to eat and head to Rodeo. KAren started searching for her keys to leave and then ...........................yep you guessed it!!!! She had locked her keys in her car-LOL!!!!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Not did she lock them in the car but the ignition!!!!! hehehehehehe

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Thank goodness for great roadside assistance!!! All she had to do was make one call and they had someone come out! Unfortunately it took longer for them to get into the car than it did for them to get to us -LOL. The wrecker service guys had to get the manuel out to get in - LOL.....

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Poor Karen was sooooooooooooooo embarassed ! Thats OK Karen - I got a great story out of it

we now get to the Ranch Rodeo . It was great!!!!

Here are Heather & hubby, Monie and her other half getting ready for the Mugging Event.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It all starts on Friday.

I start getting everything all packed and ready for the ride. I am so excited because I haven't been out riding since the Beach ride back in April or May.

Everything seems to be going well until I notice that my tire on the trailer is FLAT. Ok no problem. I start to air it up and continue packing the truck up. After an hour, the tire is NOT aired up. So now panic sets in. I fantically start thinking of who to call for a ride or even the use of their trailer, but it's midnight.

Now Saturday morning comes around..............I HAVE THE GREATEST HUBBY. He got up an hour earlier than he had to to fix my tire problem BEFORE going on duty for work at 6:00AM! All so I could still ride! I LOVE YOU HONEY!

OK. So the tire is all fixed and the truck is loaded and I am ready to go............................Then BAM! It's lightening & thundering and wham..............it starts RAINING. I go in and look at the radar and see that it's a good size storm but it should pass. I call Kim and we all decide to let the rain pass then still meet a little later.

The rain stops and we FINALLY get out to ride at about 1:30 pm. Jim was already saddled and ready to & Kim was in the process of saddling Moon as I drove up. So I get out and haul butt to get Sam saddled and ready. As I am getting Sam ready, here come Dot & Debbie. They had come out earlier and hit the trails. So we all visit and say our goodbyes and then Jim, Kim and I hit the trails. FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!

NOW WE ARE ON THE TRAILS - Yepeeeeeeeeeee! I can't tell you how excited I was to be out. I would gone out while it was raining! I have a poncho and Sam doesn't mind getting wet-LOL.

As we are on the trails.....Kim & Jim sent me on to the front. Clueless I go on. They set me up! I was the official trail clearer for that day. I GOT EVERY SPIDER WEB YOU COULD IMAGINE! I HATE spiders. You talk about shaking in your boots. I was shaking from my head to my toes - LOL. Of course, Jim and Kim got a kick!

The weather is great! Hot and mugging but who cares at this point - we are out riding!

Poor Jingles had to "CIRCLE, CIRCLE, CIRCLE". He would get jittery whenever Sam cames up behind him.Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

NOW............. we are all having a blast!!!! We get to the pond area and BOOM! Before I could get the camera out, Jingle had decided to lay in the water and Mud. Jim was soooo fast! He hopped off and stood in the muddy water a little stunned. He joked that he had to dump his water logged boot. At least it was not Sam and I this time - LOLPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketHere is the aftermath of Jingles getting Jim wet!Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Sam and I decided to stay on the side lines......

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

And off we go again..........Enjoying the trails tremendously! We come to an open field and decide to let horses munch and we TRY to take a few pics.......................

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Me & Sam

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Kim & Moon Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketJim & Jingles

Once we all did our photo thing, we were on the trail again - YEPEEEEEEEEE. All the trails are grown up horribly! Everything is looking different. Even for Kim. She knows these trail like the back of her hand. That being said, we get to a point on the trail that a huge gully cut into the main trail. Kim says that things don't look too familiar and she turns around and heads back the way we came. Jim looks down at the gully and says that it was a steep drop and that there was no way to get through.

Sam and I are always up for anything - LOL. Those of you who know me, I take Sam into and through EVERYTHING! So down the gully we go and up to the other side and catch the trail. Well Kim and Jim say to go on and see where it goes and that we will all yell and stay in touch.

Sam & I go and all the time we (SAM & I) are away from Jingles & Moon, Sam is yelling at them to make sure they can hear us. It was so funny - you had to be there! Sam and I follow the trail and it finally came out on the red road and there comes Jim & Kim. We follow the trail and it leads us right back to the trucks & trailers. WE ALL HAD A BLAST!!!!!!! Riding the trails out in the forest is the greatest! Next time you all will have to come and join us!

SATURDAY 10-28-06 Halloween/Birthday RIDE

It was a beautiful day. Hooked up my friends trailer up (as I sold mine) and loaded Sam up and headed over to Dot's (A great hilarious lady who was throwing a B-Day party/Halloween Ride)

I was dressed as Zorett. I had my purple cape, glitter pants, my gogo boats, and even had a minnie sword - LOL. I had a make shift hat which was smaller than your normal Zoro hat - but hey I was ZORRETT!

I was going to wear a purple mask but couldn't get it to work so instead Kim helped me tie it on Sam so he was in costume as well!

We had 10 riders plus a tractor pulling our wagon.  The wagon was called Bubba's ambulance service. It had the hay for the horses to snack on and an IV drip with wine for us to sip on if we got thirsty.Ann's Husband rode in the wagon due to him being in a wheel chair, plus he was our official picture taker. He was dressed as a hobo. The driver of the wagon/tractor was dressed as a paramedic. He is married to Debbie who was dressed as our crazy mad hatter. She tried riding her small white ass Fluke-but constantly slipped off as he is just a standard size donkey -LOL.

She had put a blue graduation cap and gown on him so he could be our "smart Ass".Then we had Ann as our lady of the 50's with her poodle skirt, peddle collar, neat shoes and bobby socks.  She even wrapped Molly (her ride) in a glittering Halloween garland.Next was Lucy as a nun. Nothing like a Nun with boots - LOL Her hubby was an army officer in disguise. Then Kimmie was a country hick riding her dancing mule Boodacious.  Then we had Melinda who dressed as a Holstein Cow. The hostess Dot, had a costume as an old lady carring a baby who was Dot. It was so funny. As soon as I get some photos I will load them. It's way too hard to explain her get up! Then Kim was the Butcher! She and I painted her horse Willie with round steak, rump roast, t-bone and horse tips, he had a red wound on his forhead and of course his throat was painted red on both side. She painted a sign an put it in his tail that read USDA 'Eat Me'. She had her meat cutting jacket and it had Meat Union # 12 ½ on the back painted in purple (Dot's ranch's name  is 12 ½ more or less). She did this to see what Dot would think.

We rode around the neighborhood and went trick or treating on our horses.  We had such a blast!

We even stopped at the neighborhood corner store and for treats the owner gave us all drinks. Everyone took tons of pics and stopped to say "HI".

By the time we all got back to Dot's place I had started feeling bad. I changed out of my costume and then Kim helped me with rasping Sam's feet. I then loaded him up and headed home.

By the time I got home I was running high fever and went straight to bed.

As for the others, I heard they had a blast. They barbequed and had a campfire and chatted and drank some more - We I could have been there!

Will upload pics as soon as they get to me!
