VIA is
more than a restaurant, it's an innovative food and bar venue located in the center of Buckhead's upscale retail and residential district in the Eclipse Building. It breathes new life into the Buckhead restaurant scene. The stylish restaurant cater to a professional crowd they can enjoy world-class cuisine and cocktails in an attractive, sophisticated modern relaxed environment.

Owners John Frasier and Rick Seaman sought inspiration from their years traveling to world-renowned restaurant and lounges across the globe. The owners spared no expense when creating the $1 million+ venue that serves as an anchor to the re-burgeoning Buckhead district. "We really wanted to create a destination spot for professionals who desire good food and appreciate superior design," says owner John Frasier.

To compliment the menu and fresh ingredients interior designer Patti Krohngold drew inspiration from crisp white linens and a midnight blue sky. "I want it to feel like a breath of fresh air when you
enter," say Krohngold. The floor consists of white tile and blue glass with navy blue walls that accentuate the oversized light fixtures and chrome accents. The 3,200 square foot, multi-level space boasts a 40-foot bar and custom-made wood burning ceramic brick oven. The giant 40-foot Prussian blue granite bar is the spot for Buckhead professionals to mingle with other patrons while ordering drinks from the expansive list of fine wines, cocktails, liquors, beers and spirits.

They hired Shaun Doty (owner of Shaun's and formerly of Table 1280, MidCity Cuisine and Mumbo Jumbo) to consult on the menu. Via brings simple, yet inventive Italian-inspired cuisine to Buckhead. Focusing on fresh ingredients that are complemented by the amazing oak flavors the custom-built oven produces, some of the favorite wood grilled entrees include: Alaskan Halibut, Free Range Chicken, Fennel Crusted Rack of Lamb and of course the signature wood-fired pizzas like the Quattro Formaggi. Consulting Chef Shaun Doty created the menu centered around the custom-made oak wood-burning ceramic brick oven that serves as the focal point for the dining room as well. The menu includes oversized salads, and a fresh meat and seafood selection.

Peachtree Freethinkers supports and encourages responsible drinking so access to public transit (MARTA, BUC, etc.) is a factor when choosing a location for our social mixers at restaurants and bars.

"Glorious Fourth" Lake Hypatia Gathering!
Saturday, June 30 - Monday, July 2, 2007

Every year many freethinkers get together at beautiful Lake Hypatia, Alabama for a fun filled Fourth of July Weekend! Celebrate freethought and Independence Day with the Alabama Freethought Association, a Foundation chapter, at its annual "Glorious Fourth" weekend at Lake Hypatia, the unique freethought "advance" (not "retreat").

Primitive camping is available on the upper and lower campgrounds (local motels a few miles away), swimming in the lake or Cady Creek natural lagoon, fishing, paddle boats, dining at the lakeside Pavilion, great speakers and most of all the experience of making new friends, renewing old friendships and mingling with fellow freethinkers.

Swimming, paddling, boating, hiking, poetry-reading, relaxing and socializing are all on the agenda at this child- and student-friendly event.

Speeches take place in the spacious, air-conditioned Lake Hypatia Freethought Hall overlooking the Foundation's Atheists in Foxholes monument, a lake and piney vista. Inexpensive catered meals are held at the beautiful lakeside Pavilion.

Send an email if you would like to join other Peachtree Freethinkers for this weekend adventure.
