What to do with fabrics

Think of all the things you can do with a piece of fabric! There are many things to do other than sewing clothing.
You can make easy curtains by sewing a seam on each side and making a loop to hold the curtain rod.
You can place a piece over an old bulletin board to create a better look to an old friend.
You can hang a piece of fabric on your wall to give it texture and color. Or put a piece in a picture frame to give visitors something to talk about. Just so they don’t spread the word that you are crazy, you could always tell them its from something your grandmother had.
You could make pillows for your couch, quilts, doll clothing, doll furniture upholstery, doll pillows, pet pillows and blankets,

Q. What is a Star Note?

A. A STAR Note is a note with a STAR (*) in the prefix or suffix position of the serial number. These notes are typically used to replace a note damaged during the printing process to maintain the correct count of notes in a serial number run. Packs of STAR notes are sometimes released when the supply is greater than what's needed. Since STAR notes are much more uncommon, they are prized by collectors.

Q. What is an Error Note?

A. From The US Error Note Encyclopedia: "A Currency Error is any note that does not meet the minimum quality standards of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing but still somehow manages to escape being pulled during the many human and mechanical inspections." These errors include; cutting errors, folds and tears, inking errors, missing prints, etc. Check your notes and look for anything that's different.

Painted Recycled Spoon

 Reduce Reuse Recycle… Craft It!

I love to work in my craft room from time to time. One of my favorite things to do is to take a "trash" item and turn it into something new and unique.

Take this Painted Recycled Spoon that is pictured and an example. Spoons, forks and knives are often found dirt-cheep at garage sales or thrift stores. Take them home, bend them, paint them, add some embellishments, and you have created something new out of something old and unwanted.

Kids also love to create things using random items around the house and by using those item that are normally tossed away, you save money on craft materials, and kids get to explore further with their imaginations.

Some things that I've used in my Recycle Crafting projects are pop or beverage cans, bottle caps, old buttons, scrap pieces of wood, bowls, jars, mirrors, t-shirts and more. My eyes seem to pick out the beauty of a tossed item before it becomes too familiar with the trash can.
