So a lot has been up in my life since I last "blogged." I notice more and more people doing this on different sites and blogging about whatever is going on. I don't know why blogging has become such a regular thing these days but I guess in a way it is kind of like getting shit off your chest. So anyways, what has been up with me? To tell you the truth a whole shit storm of things. I have been traveling the world and seeing so many things I never thought I would, I have been writing new songs that I am extremely proud of and excited for, and for the first time in a long time I am thoroughly enjoying doing a headlining tour. My life has taken new steps towards being in a really great position. On a downer note, back in December my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. I haven't spoken much about it because to be honest it really affected me to know that this was happening. Of all the people in the world my mom is the least deserving of something as terrible as this, unfortunately I feel like thats how it always ends up, all of the undeserving people somehow contract this and the people who have no compassion for their community or the people surrounding them are free to do as they please. I am not saying that I think that all the bad people in the world should get cancer, I would never wish harm on anyone. I guess sometimes life is just fucked up. Anyways, 2 days ago my mom had a mastectomy and the doctors say that things went ok (aside from a few other complications). We are really lucky and blessed that she caught it early enough to get rid of it. Now it is off towards recovery and speaking out to people to let them know to constantly check for this. In lieu of all this going on I have been wanting to do something beneficial for the organizations that are out there to help find a cure, so on March 27th I will be playing a festival that benefits the American Cancer Society. It is at University of Pennsylvania in Philly, and is something that is very important to me. This is a bulletin I posted about it :
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will be performing at University of Penn in Philadelphia on the 27th of March. This is a benefit for the American Cancer Society, an organization that I back whole heartedly. It would mean the world to me if you could clear your schedule and make this event a priority, I know times are tough so anything you can do would be much appreciated not by just me, but by the people whose lives are being saved by the donations for research to find a cure. Thank you!
-Shane

For tickets:

RelayAtPenn. org and click 'Sign Up,' pay the $10 registration fee, and

I guess that is sort of an update of my life for now, I always feel awkward writing in things like this cause who the fuck am I ? What makes me so important that I write in a blog about myself every week? I am not knocking the people that do it. Good for you if you enjoy writing and letting your friends know what is up with you. If you guys really enjoy hearing what is up with me let me know and maybe I will do more of these things and let you know about my crazy life with my crazy friends. Hope your all healthy and happy, think about the show and try and make it out.

love,
Shane

Hey all you wonderful people! My new cd "When the Flowers Bloom..." is rapidly approaching and in celebration of it we decided to do something fun and artsy that will get your brains ticking! In association with I-Surrender Records and FriendsorEnemies.com comes the Live in Love Photo Project. We give you the tracklisting to the new cd and you in your most creative way take photographs of what you think the song titles are about. Make them passionate and meaningful and you just might win. Well what do you win shane? The answer my friends is a private one on one concert with yours truly where I will play you the songs off the album and give you a little story tellers information into the album and what it means and the stories behind it. Go here for more information! Good luck and happy photo taking!! Don't forget be creative and passionate and you might get the win!!!!
Love,
Shane POR!
