Come Sunrise is on the Grammy Selection Ballot for Best Contemporary Folk Album (I tried Americana, but they only wanted "full electric bands"!) If you're a NARAS voter or know one, I hope you will enjoy some Come Sunrise tracks, here or on my website, or otherwise, let me know!
Some tours in the works:
John Laird of the Americana Agency is arranging a Northwest U.S tour in March 2010 for myself and the wonderful Miss Rachel Harrington! Looking forward to heading north again.
Bob Butler and Claire Stein of Grapevine Music have agreed to arrange a overseas, summer tour after Come Sunrise's 2010 release in the United Kingdom. Hurrah! AAaargh, I'm off to Cornwall, huzzah!
Many thanks to you all and Best to you and yours,
Rita

The Sisters Folk Festival was gorgeous and wonderful, the other finalists were all incredibly talented. (Holly O'Reilly sadly could not make it for health reasons--very best wishes to Holly.) Can't believe I got called the winner but I did, and in this business, I figure I'd better let the world know! It is a great honor.
The festival itself is very worth visiting, as is the town of Sisters, Oregon and all the friendly people in attendance. I'll be heading back there next year, and hope to see some of you there!
Best to you and yours, Rita

RITA HOSKING/Silver Stream: Remember when you wanted to like Gillian Welch or Iris DeMent but there just wasn't something you felt you could grab onto? Hosking takes it to the next level of the game. Maybe it's because her organic elements weren't crafted by a major label and really are organic. A rising bluegrass queen with strong folk/rock elements and an appreciation for all things country, her latest gets higher marks than the usual DIY recording because it's running on a lot more than good intentions. Loaded with verve, spirit and out of the box energy, you don't have to be a hardcore bluegrass fan to play this often and loud. A top shelf recording all the way. http://www.midwestrecord.com/2008/02/04/020408DOWNLOAD RITA HOSKING ON ITUNES
