Tomorrow marks the exact 2 year anniversary of FAA. On Sept 10th, 2006 we had our first show with Pash, Here Today, Rocky's Revival and The Byzantines. Since then, we have put on 61 shows with approximately 97 different bands. Most of these shows have centered around touring bands and have featured local high school and college bands for support. Starting in November, this format will change dramatically. Instead of booking shows to fit a touring band's routing schedule, FAA shows will now take place only twice a month and on the same dates every month. The result of these changes will mean that these shows will focus less on out-of-town bands and more on developing young local talent. Quality out-of-town bands will still play FAA shows, but on more of an invitational basis.

For now, we will host shows on the 2nd weekend of every month at the downtown Rappahanock Regional Library and the last Saturday of every month at The Third Floor. The library shows will be FREE shows and will be about local high school talent ONLY. The Third Floor shows will also feature local high school bands, but out-of-town bands from DC, Richmond and touring bands whose tour schedules bring them through Virginia on the last Saturday of the month will be invited to join the bill.

For out-of-town bands, please take note of these changes when requesting shows. If its not for the last Saturday of the month, we can't help you. Additionally, because there are such few shows happening, dates are filled months in advance.

For local high school bands, these changes represent good news. There are much more opportunities for us to work in new high school bands now. If you're in a band and want to play, please email bookingFAA@gmail.com.

We're open to booking any genre of music, but will consistently say "No" to bands who are sexist, racist, homophobic, excessively dogmatic or who promote violence, hatred or destructive behavior.
