A lot of things have changed in a very short time. If you're a fan of horror and fantasy, check out my website. It's been given an extreme makeover. I posted the new prologue from "Dead Seed" (just click 'stories' on the left and then 'horror' and then 'dead seed'). Also in 'stories' is a sample chapter from my upcoming novel, "Dies Irae," and I'm posting an entire story: a vampire parody called "Vampires! (and other demons...but we like the vampires more)." There's several chapters up for that story and I plan on updating it soon, though, due to my busy schedule, I can't update as often as I'd like. There are several things new at my website, so go through the whole thing and check it all out. Also, in case you haven't heard, I have rewritten "Vampires Don't Exist." It is now called "Dead Seed." It's the same story, just better written, complete with a prologue, fresh chapter one and epilogue, new scenes and deleted scenes. Also, the writing is better. I killed a lot of the adverbs I had in the original book for one thing. The sentences flow smoother than before. I don't guarantee this version to be perfect, but I do guarantee it to be better. You can preview and order the new VDE, now called "Dead Seed" from Lulu. Thanks for your time, everyone. Enjoy the new stuff :-) --R. Vance

Howdy everyone, I'm a former Texan so I can say that because 'Once a Texan, ALWAYS a Texan.' Am I right, Texas People?! Ha. Okay, sorry--lack of sleep has made me a little goofy. This is just a quick update to let everyone know that I'm not dead (unfortunately, right? -lame joke) nor have I forgotten Yuwie, Myspace, Xanga, Livejournal or anywhere else this update may be posted. See, the thing is: I got a part-time job at one of the local dollar stores here. Though it's not a full-time job, it has kept me very busy and by the end of the work day I'm exhausted. BUT, tomorrow is my day off, so I'm updating everything and trying to get some more writing done. "Vampires Don't Exist" Update: I'm a little over halfway through the rewrite. I'm still very satisfied with it and I hope you all will be, too. Because of the new job I haven't been able to work on it as much as I would like to, but I'm dedicating most of the night and all of tomorrow to VDE. I hope to get a lot finished. If not tomorrow, my next day off is Wednesday so I'll get more done then. Hopefully I'll have this revamped version finished by the end of November so you guys will have another option for X-mas presents or *insert whatever Holiday you celebrate in December*. "Dies Irae" Update: ...Guess what! ...Still not finished -.- My editor (I call her "Mom") is slacking off. I'm considering just taking my sisters' advice and edit it with that. I'll start the final editing/spell checking/proofing process as soon as I'm finished with the revamping of VDE (that way Mom still has some time to get her rear in gear). Then DI gets sent off to publishers. I'm going to try and find a traditional publisher for DI instead of using Lulu. However, if I get more than about 15 rejections, I'll just go ahead and use Lulu again. So, to recap in simple terms: I'm very busy. Love to all, R. Vance

Hello, any readers out there? Ha.
Well, I'm still waiting on my editor to finish "Dies Irae." She's not a professional and is not being paid therefore she has no deadline...which sucks for me, but eh.
I've recently been employed by a local Dollar store so I can possibly get a social life and finally have money to spend. I'm only part time so I'll be able to write still. I'm going to be super busy though, juggling a "real" job, writing two books, networking, and advertising. Plus, there's dating and social activities. Dating is a nightmare. Oh, and I'm looking into taking some writing classes in order to polish up some query letters (oh, and to learn some things, ha).
I'm going to be alone for Thanksgiving because I'm working out of the home now and am not allowed to take time off between November 15th and January 1st. The family is all going up to Grandmas and leaving me behind. How sad, huh? Oh well, as long as I get my green bean casserole, I'll be happy. I don't like most of my family members anyway :-P ....ha, kidding. Sort of. And, having the house all to myself for a few days means the house will be quiet and I can get more writing work done. Yay me!
Okay, well I guess that's it.
Take care, R. Vance

"Dies Irae" is almost ready to be sent in to publishers! I finished the second round of editing and proofing last night. Now, I have a few people who are going to read it for me and point out errors and whatnot. Once these two people are finished, I will correct any mistakes and then send it off to two MORE people to be proofread. Once I get it back from them, I will fix THOSE mistakes and then "Dies Irae" will FINALLY be ready to be published.
I'm thinking it should be complete by the end of this year and published by the beginning of '08. I'm very excited :-)

I have released my first collection of poems, featuring two from my book, "Dies Irae" (coming late 2007/early 2008).Description:A collection of mostly dark poems, conceived in the mind of the author of "Vampires Don't Exist."This book holds several different genres, including: Paranormal, fantasy, horror, love and heartbreak, which means there's something for everyone in this collection. Not every poem has a rhyme pattern; some are free verse, though still deep and weave a web of emotional connection with the reader. If you're a lover of poetry, this collection is probably for you. If you hold an interest in the macabre, this collection is definitely for you.
Available in coil-bound paperback or download only from Lulu.com.

Hey, this is just a quickie (ha ha) letting everyone know that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth or forgotten about anyone or anything. I'm still working on "Dies Irae" (it's a long book!), but I have less than 100 pages left to edit, then it goes off to be proofed and then another round of editing. I'm really hoping to have this published by the end of this year or beginning of 2008. I'm also working on a collection of poetry. With several genres, this book will appeal to everyone who loves poetry. It's release date is expected to be sometime by the end of this month (July, 2007). It will be availble HERE. Take care, everyone!

I can't believe I forgot to post a blog here! I sent out a bulletin announcing the release of the second "Dies Irae" trailer, but in the midst of the excitement, I overlooked the blog! Wow, I feel dumb. ANYWAY, we actually finished this trailer on New Year's Eve. If you caught the bulletin, you'll know that. That means I was able to keep my promise: I had the second trailer out for the New Year! Happy 2007, everyone! Please, watch the new trailer for "Dies Irae (Day of Wrath)." And please note, this is a BOOK, not a movie. Also, please rate this video by choosing stars and/or leaving a comment at youtube. Thanks, everyone! Just push "play."

The New Year [2007] is creeping up on us. I had promised that the new "Dies Irae" trailer would be out before the ball dropped on New Year's Eve. I would have been able to keep that promise for we had almost finished the trailer today. We were were working on the last 3 frames when the computer decided to lock up... ...and we hadn't saved the work we had done for the day (in the excitement and anticipation, we just forgot, I guess).
Since my dad doesn't work, he's here all day and on the computer with the movie maker for a good portion of the day, so I'm afraid the release date for the second trailer has to be pushed back. I don't know how far, if we can get ahold of the computer for a couple of hours, we can finish it, so hopefully my parents will leave for the afternoon on one of his days off.
Bad luck...I'm really depressed about losing what we did. Hopefully it will still turn out to be a decent video.
Wish us luck!

First, have you all seen any of that meteor shower that's going on right now? I've seen four already tonight and it's not over yet. I'm going back out in a little while. (December 13th 11:17pm).
Okay, on to business. We had another scare with the music video today. Windows Movie Maker is the suckiest suck that ever sucked (I think), but it's all we have because we're not very computer savvy here...well my dad is, but he has his own job, I don't want to bug him with mine.
So yes, my sister actually had some free time to work with me today (she's always swamped with school so we only get to work on the video once every two weeks if we're lucky), so we decided to work on the trailer. We opened the saved project and start listening to the music and we realize the sound is off >.< After about two hours of precious wasted time, we finally figured things out and fixed it and were able to progress about four hours worth of our time which is about two minutes of the video. I would like to say that we're about three quarters of the way finished with it, but since problems happen, I will not give a specific release date. But I do hope it will be finished by the end of the year.
We put in some cool pictures, which I will be posting on here soon, so please keep checking back. I see plenty of people view these blogs (no comments), so I know you're reading it and that's all that matters to me!
I really hope everything turns out okay because I'm really working hard on both the video and the book. I've learned so much since I wrote VDE and I believe I've improved. My readers think so as well, so, yay!
I have also constructed a 30 page map/character biographies/other information. I doubt I'll post that though (major spoilers), that's just for me.
Welp, (yes, I said 'welp'), I'm going to get back to watching the stars and then it's back to work!
I'll update again soon.

p.s. I've recently heard Christina Aguilera's new stuff, including Candyman. I must say the new sound is a surprise. Candyman reminds me of the Andrews Sisters' Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, which is a great song. I love the old stuff :-)
