Hi Everyone -
Warm greetings and blessings to you all!

May you be filled with lovingkindness.
May you be safe and protected from all inner and outer dangers.
May you be well in body and mind.
May you be at ease and happy.

(I seem to be gravitating towards “double” newsletters; I was away for most of November, and will be away for most of January too. Hmm... Let’s see what unfolds in the months ahead... :-))

Life is getting VERY interesting for me these days. TRUST and SURRENDER are moving beyond being words in my mind and are becoming a living, breathing reality in my body. NOTICING - being with what is, without judgement - is too... My Virgo mind would love to be able to tell you WHY this is happening, AND I think that the best answer I can give you is that I’m now clearly stating my intentions and handing over the HOW of them to Mother/Father/God/Higher Consciousness/Love... Is what I’m feeling an answer to a prayer? I would say YES... Whatever the reason, I am MOST grateful for all that is unfolding in my life, and it is my intention to continue to SHOW UP, be as fully present in every moment as I can be, and to let go of the HOW...
With this in mind, I offer you a quote and a video. First, the quote (from Abraham, through Esther Hicks): "In your action, you lose sight of the vision; you lose sight of your trust in the process, and you just bang around in a sense of futility. Hold the vision and trust that the Universe will acclimate to your vision. Hold the vision and trust the process." Second, the video: http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/elizabeth_gilbert_on_genius.html - an invitation for us all to keep showing up. May they both inspire you as deeply as they inspire me. (THANKS to my dear friends Monika Becker, for the quote, and Zoey Wren, for the video. If YOU have suggestions for inspirational media to share in a future newsletter, please drop me a line at nathenaswell@me.com.)

REPORT

Here are my highlights from the last month or so:

- Performing at THREE new churches - CSL Kamloops, Symphony of Life (Ojai, CA), and CSL Edmonton - and returning to Unity of Nanaimo to musically support author and guest speaker Aman Motwane. (SO happy to be with you again, Aman!) My heartfelt THANKS to the ministers, music directors, musicians, sound technicians and congregations at each of these communities - it’s an honour and a pleasure to serve you, to be so warmly received by you, and to be building relationships with you. :-)
- Performing three Elvis classics (“All Shook Up”, “Love Me Tender” and “Hound Dog”) in “Sentimental Journey” (a fundraiser for the Spiritual Centre for Dynamic Living). It was SO much fun to see the surprised look on the faces of those who only know my gentler Sunday morning musical identity! THANKS to Barb Brolly for ALL of the effort that she put into making this show such a success. :-)
- Touring CA with The Euphorics. There’s something magical about four people singing together with open hearts. THANKS, gang, for all that you teach me on AND off stage. :-)
- Performing at my dear friend Zoey Wren’s “Make Me A River” CD release party. THANKS, dear Zoey, for shining your light SO brightly that night, and for the honour and pleasure of making YOUR music with you. :-)
- Performing solo at St. Paul’s Labyrinth. What a treat it was to sing and play from my heart for TWO HOURS on my own! AND, somewhere in the middle of the experience, I had an “AHA” moment: that THIS is what my next CD will sound like - !!! THANKS to all at St. Paul’s for the opportunity and for the inspiration. :-)

Hi Everyone -

Warm greetings and blessings to you all!

May you be filled with lovingkindness.
May you be safe and protected from all inner and outer dangers.
May you be well in body and mind.
May you be at ease and happy.

(Sorry that I’m a little later than usual this month - there’s a LOT going on. I’ll get back on track by making this a “double” newsletter.)

October: After the fresh start of September, with new routines now well established, a time to notice and to give thanks for all that is unfolding. While I make it my practice to do this as often as I can, (Canadian) Thanksgiving Day is my favourite holiday and a special time for me to express my gratitude. (In 1992, I chose Thanksgiving Day as the day to leave Montreal and to begin my new life in Vancouver, knowing that I would then have one more reason to celebrate the day every year; and now, 17 years later, I have MANY more reasons to celebrate it.) I am truly grateful for everything that is unfolding in my life, and I’m excited about stepping ever more deeply into the fullness of who I am. Thank YOU for being a part of my journey. :-)
With this in mind, I offer you this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DhHXoIC0iU - an invitation for us all to step more deeply into appreciation for ourselves and for all that is. May it inspire you as deeply as it inspires me. (If YOU have suggestions for inspirational media to include in a future newsletter, please drop me a line at nathenaswell@me.com.)

Hi Everyone -

Warm greetings and blessings to you all!

May you be filled with lovingkindness.
May you be safe and protected from all inner and outer dangers.
May you be well in body and mind.
May you be at ease and happy.

May: For me, the major life lesson continues to be about deepening, and the importance of patience, persistence, and perseverance. In the last month, I’ve had the very good fortune of re-connecting with two old and cherished friends from Montreal: John MacMaster, the leader of my first professional musical group (“Vision”, a Christian rock choir) and now a world-class operatic tenor (http://www.johnmacmaster.com/); and Steve Sims, facilitator (www.iasis.ca) and now an author of an exciting new book (www.riverofawareness.com/). Both of these men have given me some valuable perspective on where I’ve been and on where I now am, and I’m happy to finally be able to see them as what they’ve been all along - my brothers and my peers. THANK YOU, John and Steve - I dearly love and appreciate you both.
AMEN for the powerful men in my life! Courtesy of one of them from The Mankind Project (http://www.mkp.org/), I offer you this video: http://www.globalonenessproject.org/videos/agameforlife - a powerful statement about patience, persistence, and perseverance. May it inspire you as deeply as it inspires me. (If you have suggestions for inspirational media to include in a future newsletter, please drop me a line at nathenaswell@ me.com.)

March: The arrival of spring and new life. Hi Everyone -

Warm greetings and blessings to you all!

May you be filled with lovingkindness.
May you be safe and protected from all inner and outer dangers.
May you be well in body and mind.
May you be at ease and happy.

February: The month in which we celebrate LOVE. May we honour this month by first loving ourselves, so that we may then more fully love all those around us.
This month’s video offering exemplifies this quite beautifully: www.thelastlecture.com. (Click on “Watch The Last Lecture” at the bottom of the left-hand column.) It’s the last lecture given by Professor Randy Pausch before he died (less than a year after this lecture) of pancreatic cancer, and is truly an act of love for himself, his family, and his students and colleagues. (The video is about 90 minutes long, AND please trust me when I say that you’ll be very happy that you made the time to watch it.)
BIG thanks to my dear friend Nancy Mortifee for this month’s video. If you have suggestions for videos to include in future newsletters, please drop me a line at nathenaswell@me.com.

UPCOMING PERFORMANCES

BIG NEWS: In March, I’ll be performing at the Affiliated New Thought Network Conference (in Phoenix), and in May, I’ll be performing at Harmonizing With Humanity’s Autism Awareness Music Fest (also in Phoenix). Please take a minute to read the announcement below about the HwH Fest, and see if getting involved with it and with HwH resonates for you:

"Announcing Harmonizing with Humanity’s first-ever live Music Festival in Arizona!
AUTISM AWARENESS MUSIC FEST
May 2-3, 2009
I’d like to share with you an organization that I’ve just been invited to be part of. It’s called Harmonizing with Humanity and it’s very important on the scale of supporting different causes.
If you live anywhere near Arizona or feel inspired to travel to be part of history in the making and are interested in attending one of the most unique music festivals of our time (while supporting an important cause), this weekend is something you will not want to miss!
And… as a beloved fan you also have a great opportunity to be exposed to other like-minded artists from the positive music genre (17 Indie musicians) who will share the stage with one big national act soon to be announced.
Also, Harmonizing with Humanity’s first album is being launched in mid February showcasing Indie artists and original songs.  “The Life That’s Chosen Me” will be their first project initiative to create a vehicle for donations that will go back to schools and organizations (for special needs children) that depend on funding from private sponsors.
Click here for more information and to sign up for our mailing list (don’t worry we won’t be bombarding you) to be part of a growing music community that I would love to share with you. We’ll be doing two big events per year and we need your support to get this grassroots effort started.
This is a great way to start the year off by supporting music and all different causes at the same time. The May event just happens to be about supporting autism. They are now having talks about creating musical tours to raise awareness in cities across the country. If you are interested, you could request your city and bring famous musicians right to your home town!
CLICK HERE TO READ ALL ABOUT MUSIC FEST 2009 AND KEEP UP TO DATE TO FIND OUT WHO’S SINGING AND SPEAKING, AND REGISTER YOURSELF.
http://www.HarmonizingwithHumanity.com
Since this music festival supports autism awareness, please forward this to any friends who would like to support this cause."

NEW WEB SITE CONTENT

As well as updating the calendar on all three of my web sites, I’ve:
- updated my website design software, which has enabled me to increase the size of my web page “windows”. (Sorry that my background images look a little strange at the moment; I’ll be fixing that ASAP by replacing them with higher resolutions of the same images.)
- added a new photo (of Sandra Dawn and I) to my web site, and to my MySpace page;
- got a new e-mail address, so that I can keep in touch with you at home and on my new iPhone (!). It’s nathenaswell@me.com.

Happy New Year, everyone. Go with love!

With love and gratitude,
- Nathen
