Hey everyone, Just letting you know that we have a new shirt design in the making, for our new song, Hallow's Eve. Here are some preliminary examples: Photo 1Photo 2I still have to do some work on them, but the general idea is there. Now, we need everyone's help in making this shirt a reality. Because I used an image from IStockPhoto, I need to buy the extended license for it, which costs about $220. To offset this, I submitted our old Faith of the Fallen design to 6DollarShirts.com. If I win 1st place with this shirt, I get $500, which we will use to make these new shirts. I NEED everyone to go vote! Help us make this new Hallow's Eve shirt a reality! Click here to create an account and vote! Remember, 6 is the highest, so make sure you click 6! Thanks everyone, wish us luck! Any questions of comments, let us know. Curtis

Well since the other homos have actually posted something maybe I should too.
I have updated the site for our upcoming starter tour in Alberta. We may or may not start the first week in March but it will be either those two. As you may or may not know I am expecting my first baby on the way so we would like to tour before that time. I have posted the shows but have yet to book any venues or bands but we are in the process and will update as soon as we know more.
If you know of or would like to book any of these shows with us please contact us, or if you even feel obliged to call Corey a homo...please...the board is always open.
Rock on.
-Kris

Current mood: aroused
Hey all, just thought since I never do this maybe I can have a crack at updating you guys in the DO world.
We've finally finished our song Hallow's Eve which I think I can speak for the rest of the band when I say that it kicks major ass. This song shows the progression of songwriting for the band and really defines what we are trying to do. The riffs are tight, the song has a great breakdown and a wicked solo section. The lyrics and singing/screaming are awesome as well and for the first time in a long time there will be a clean section with clean singing. This song is like 6 months in the making (post band wars) because it's been hard to get us all in the same room and write/practice our shit. We all had a busy summer and now we are back on track and ready to kick some major ass. In other news we have a show coming up with Sparky and a bad ass band call Endast from Montreal this tuesday Oct. 20th. This show will be epic so make sure you get down to check it out! We also get to unveil Hallow's Eve to the world so don't miss out!
So that about wraps up my update. Take care and keep it Metal!!!!!

Well, I figured, it was about that time that I update on the happenings at the DO camp.
For those of you who do not know, we won Band Warz this past spring. It was a great accomplishment for us, and Corey won best guitarist, so that is awesome. But, I can't help but wonder... what now? One option I suppose is to go use the $1500 recording we won for Pulsworks Studios. We figure we could record 1 song with that, because of the way that we record.
Also for those of you who do not know, Zakk is back from treeplanting, much earlier than expected. For those of you who did not know, Zakk left the day after Band Warz Finalz to Alberta to plant trees, make money and such. Because of this, our plan was to take the whole summer off of shows, and just concentrate on writing songs and learning covers, so that one day we might be able to do a 2 night weekend at the Roxy or something. Now that Zakk is back, I suppose we can do that same thing.
So really, not a WHOLE lot has happened in the last 4-5 months, I suppose we should start planning a fall tour through Alberta, if thats what we want to do. If anyone wants to help us out with that, let us know, because we sure could use it, considering none of us had ever set anything like that up before.
I'm off to work, hurray!

Just letting everyone know that this past Sunday, January 4th, 2009, we had our very first professional photo shoot. The photographer was none other than Daniel Belhumeur, from Thresh. When I found out he is a photographer as well as a rocker, I knew we had to get him to do our pictures. That, and he is also very good at what he does. Anyone looking for a good photographer, check out his (and his wife's) website: www.studiobphotography.ca. Some awesome stuff on there. Now, we were originally supposed to do 2 different shoots, 1 interior, 1 exterior, but being that it was -40 outside, and Dan's camera's shutter froze, we couldn't do the outdoor one. Needless to say, it was postponed to a later date. The interior shots turned out awesome, from what we could tell afterwards. We did solo portraits with and without instruments, and group shots, with/without instruments. Dan will be doing his magic on them for the next couple weeks, so we should get them soon. Once we do, you can bet that I will be starting on our ACTUAL website, as well as revamping the plain old MySpace to use the new pictures. That is all for now. Curtis

Well, now that the New Year is upon us, I felt it was time I updated.
It has been a few months since our last show, but don't worry, we aren't dead. Kane had finals all of December, and was studying/being cool for those. Zakk went back to Alberta for the whole month of December to be with family. Corey, Kris and myself were putzing around Saskatoon, mostly doing promotion for the EP that came out in October, and writing new riffs.
At first, it was hard for me to get going on new riffs. I hadn't realized how inside-the-box my thinking was. I was primarily focused on fast down-picking style riffs, but thankfully, my perceptions have changed. In the last week or 2, I have been jamming out on some sweet alternate picking riffs that are just grooving and hard to play (if you haven't noticed, I tend to sway towards the difficult to play riffs, cuz I get bored otherwise). Even though my main influence was the whole Sacrament album (Lamb of God), I feel I have incorporated my own style into the riffs. Excitement towards riffs!
I can't wait to get everyone back into town, so we can start jamming again. It has probably been a good month and a half since we were all in the same room, and I must say I miss them dudes. The electricity that floats around the room when we start writing awesome shit is just awesome. I can definitely say that there will be lots of electricity in the coming weeks of writing.
Well, that is it for now, I think. I hope everyone has had good holidays, and a happy new year and all that noise. Don't be scared to let us know you are still out there as well, comments and messages are always welcome!

Current mood: excited
Just got the news... We got the opening slot for 3 Inches of Blood and Evile at the Roxy on October 20th!
It will only be 5 or 10 bucks at the door... which is super awesome, considering the rest of the tour is going for 25-35 bucks for tickets.
Also, we are slated to be receiving our complete, pressed, and awesome EPs back from Vancouver's Progress Marketing.
I am going to be scheduling an interview with Planet S, to talk about the show, a tour we setting up for next year, and our upcoming EP.
Things are looking good so far... I hope to see you all out at the show on the 20th! And don't forget to bring an extra $10 to pick up one of our cds!

If you haven't yet noticed, our newest songs are uploaded to MySpace for your listening pleasure. 5 songs, Dead Lust, Born By The Blade, Pay The Piper, Addiction, and Broken Wings, all recorded with Chris Douglas of Sparky, at his studio Toneshift Audio.
We have spent alot of time and effort (not to mention money) on these songs, in writing, pre-production, recording, mixing, mastering, and whatever else there is to do with the making of a CD. The final step is to send it off to get pressed in Vancouver. With the artwork complete, now we play the waiting game.
I am also going to try to get the songs on iTunes and other online music stores, but I don't actually know how yet, so I will keep you posted on that.
Good listening, and see you soon!
