WVU (and Coach Stew) have caught a lot of heat over the past few days, as evidenced on our board, but this week vs. Marshall provides a chance at redemption. With many fans fearing the worst, your ever-positive WVUTalk poster hopes that Stew can turn it around this week. God knows we'll have to.

Since I like to blog about the bright side of bad situations, we have nothing to hang our head about this day. Underdogs until the end, even Fox announcers and former OU head coaches had to finally admit that Oklahoma was overmatched.

No doubt about it we looked great - and how about all that West Virginia love at the end of the game? Owen isn't a facemask destroying robot, he's a lover of the Wild and Wonderful just like the rest of us. And how about Bill By God Stewart?

From the mouth of Tony Caridi - it's a great day to be a Mountaineer...WHEREVER YOU MAY BE!!!

This has been a fantastic year for WVU football, but its been filled with downers. A BCS bowl is huge, but when you sit back and look at the expectations we all had its a kick in the ass. Now the salt in the wound is that White and Slaton will likely leave for the NFL because they aren't about to learn a new coach's system.

This hit makes it hard to finish strong in the bowl game, but hopefully the players can make it happen. We have alot of talent in the pool at WVU, and we can't put up with the never-ending "coaching carousel" Rich Rod kept putting us through.

Feeling the need to close on a positive note, Belien is 4-7 at Michigan this year.
We got Coach Huggins after we were all crushed that Belien left. Who's next for WVU? We don't have the answer, but we're a program you can't keep down for long.

There's a silver lining, here people.

Lets take some joy for a moment and remind ourselves that while Pitt won the battle, they've continually lost the war and they couldn't smell a bowl game even if it were played in the Petersen Events Center.

Wannstedt got a contract extension, which means we can look forward to a bad Pitt team until 2012.

Moving forward, our beloved 'eers won the Big East title outright and will be playing in a BCS bowl. Probably the Orange Bowl vs. Virginia Tech, another great rivalry.

We've got a lot of time off between now and the bowl game, so try not to think about last night's "nightmare" (as Coach Rod put it) and look forward to a prestigious bowl appearance and another opportunity to show that the 'eers don't quit.

Upsetting VT would go a long way into cementing our status at the end of the year and prepare us for a high preseason ranking next year.

Our team will be older, stronger, wiser and better prepared for the National Title hunt. And remember, Pitt will still eat shit. --> -->
