Hey everybody hope you folks had a super week end.
"Super Bowl" what a game. My team lost, but they put up a real good fight.
I don't really follow football season, but Super bowl is what I enjoy the
most and I always go with the underdog. It makes it more exciting
for me. Of course I got to be ready for the man bashing from the
guys that chose the obvious. It's all good man and it's all fun.
"The Boss" ROCKS!!!! He was on fire. Saturday I did a gig at the 10
year celebration of the Battleship Missouri. 10 years of being in
Hawaii. I haven't been to the ships site before and only been to the
Arizona once when I was a kid and it's presence is pretty fantastic.
You should check it out if ever get the chance. The gig was great
and the weather was perfect. Sunday after Duke's I went to a
special peek preview of Jimmy Buffets 'Margaritaville" right across
the street from Duke's. I took my good friend Bill Hale and the guys
in the band(Jon, Lopaka and Stu) and we got to experience Jimmy's new
dig. Pretty impressive and very Jimmy. Got to go there when you're
in paradise. We got up played a few songs to bless the stage that
Don Ho use to perform on and wished Jimmy a big welcome(Aloha) to
Paradise.

The place is sic. The band guys split up and checked the
place out. I just got to say I got some great guys in my band. They
rock! Bill and I hung out for a little bit had a cheeseburger(in
paradise) and then walked down Kalakaua Avenue to get to my car and a
most awesome thing happened. I ran into a guy who has a little
street stand and he recognized me and stopped me to say "hi" and
mentioned how much he loved my music. Really nice guy has a very
nice vibe to him. Anyway, I looked at his stand, it looked
interesting and he started to tell me what he does. Check this out
he writes and draws on a grain of rice, that's right writes and draws
on a grain of rice. Pretty amazing! He then offered to make me
something and this really blew me away. He said he'd write my childs
name and birthdate on a grain of rice. Well I told him I have twins
he said no problem. Well I witnessed it and it blew my mind. He put
my daughters name, a heart and the birthdate on one side of the grain
of rice and he put my sons name, a peace sign and his birthdate on
the other side. Then he put it in a plexi-glass tusk shaped tube
added baby oil to preserve it, capped it, put a leather cord on it
and gave it to me. I was so high just from receiving this from a guy
right of the street(no pun intended) with a super-natural talent and
a kind and friendly disposition. That's "Aloha." I looked at it
put it on and it made my day. I consider it an heirloom that I can
pass on to my children... well their twins so I'll have to go back
and purchase another one. It's most definitely worth it. By the way
he was on The "Blieve it or Not" show. You might of seen him. If
you ever get a chance check it out it's amazing cool.

As for my friend Bill Hale he's got a new book coming out for all you metal
heads. It's called "Metallica: The club days." He actually
travelled and photographed their early days and got to hang with
them. Bills a World class photographer and you got to see his work
especially the pix in this book. I feel so fortunate to have some
really cool friends. By the way Bill works myspace for me. I got
more to tell you, but I'll leave it here for now. Next I'll tell you
about my next project. I'm really excited about it... "The Wild
Hawaiian 2."
Till then...
Peace, Henry
