Current mood: indescribable
Wow, ok, this is very tough. After some difficult deliberation, I, Jim, have decided to move back to Athens, GA. While we've made many great new friends across KY and have enjoyed playing around the state, I've continuned to become more and more disatisfied with living here in my small town where I feel like an outsider. Unfortunatley, Bryan and Ulises have commitments that will keep them in KY, so Cigarello will be on an indefinate hiatus. As most of you know, the three of us have been playing togther for almost twelve years now and walking away from this band is the hardest choice I've ever made. I love these boys like brothers and rest assured that we are parting on the best of terms. Reunion shows or a full-fledged reunion are certainly not out of the question for the future, but for the next few months, I know that we'll all be busy trying to find new directions and creative outlets. Please keep coming to this site to hear our music and leaving us comments, it means more to us than you can immagine. If any of you guys can make it out to the Dame in lexington on Dec. 27th, please do so and help us say goodbye (for now). Again, I apreciate all the support everyone has given us the past five months. This page will continue to be active and will depart any news about us that pops up! I love this band and my bandmates and have enjoyed making cigarello music for the past decade plus! Thanks... JIM

hey ya'll. Man, has it gotten cold or what? Here in KY anyway, its very frigid. I geuss five years down south eroded my resistance to father winter.
well, we went to columbia KY for the very first time to play at lindsey wilson college and it was fun. I felt like we played pretty well and the kids seemed to be having a good time. There was this Dj guy name DJ BOOM. Have you ever seen a performer who is so bad, you kind of suspect its all a joke, but when they stop and never reveal the joke, you just feel sorry for them? well DJ BOOM is one such character. This guy was Hilarious. Some one should give that guy a reality show
we booked our first show at the Dame in lexington! This is a club we've been trying to get in for a while now, so even though the show is two days after chrsitmas and no one will be in lexington at the time, we still took the show. Anyway, thats the news for now, look for some more shows soon! -JIM

man, nothing is better han playing for people that actially apreciate your music. I really had a great time in somerset once again the other night when we travelled down there to play our space opera. believe it or not, people seemed to really dig it. My highlight of the night was watching everyone in the audience turn the page of the lyric sheets all syncronized (god, i cant spell for shit). anyway, i know we'll try to be back in somerset before to long, the kids there are great. they remind me of me and my friends in high school. We're playing in louisville tonight @ Za's pizza and pub. you know it's funny, we've been runing around brdstown rd for like ten years now (on and off) and this will be the first time we've ever played there. pretty cool.

Current mood: chipper
I just wanted to touch base with everyone and let you guys know whats going down in Cigarello-ville. We have been dusting off our space-opera in preperation for our next somerset show. We havent played this bad boy anywhere for quite a while (never in KY) and we're excited to see how it goes over. It still is clocking in at less than 30 minutes so we have a few other surprises up our sleeve for the show as well.
We're still having a great time rehearsing in the old tobaco barn. It sounds really good there, plus the scene out there is pretty private which is nice. The other day, we went and bought some BB guns. As I'm sure you can figure, those have been our favorite toys lately. I'm a great shot i'll have you know! (for those of you that know me personally i'm sure you see the humor of me with a gun)
other than that, rock on friends, and we look forward to seeing you out there! JIM/Cigarello

Current mood: blank
the month of october was quite a busy one up to this point and now i think we're going to slow down a little for the last two weeks of this month. We're going to record some of the covers that we've been working on so maybe they'll make their way to myspace. I'm still thinking about starting another cigarello page to showcase some b-sides and what not. I still like this site as an introduction to Cigarello, but i want to get more out there to the friends that we're making along the way. To be honest with you guys, i feel kind of crappy right now. Sometimes living in the wilds of KY gets a little boring and my guts yearn for the cracked sidewalks of athens again. anyway there should be some exciting things to come in the next couple of weeks. Current mood: satisfied
♥Just got back in from somerset. (its 1:30 am, not too late.) What can i say? We had a REALLY great time bringing the rock to the somersetians in the know. The day was looking kind of shitty for minute. We got a late start and ulises had to drive seperatley, but we got there in plenty of time and, if i do say so myself, rocked the house. We gave away some of our new lighters, which for a limited time, we will continue to issue for free to all that attend our show. A few lucky people picked up some shirts and CD's. ( i say lucky because we're running out of t-shirts, but don't worry, we'll get some more.) We hope to be back in somerset in just a few months and play again for our new friends down there and also make some more! Thanks to you guys that were there, if you read this, hola back at us! ohh yeah, i'm not sure how many people are actually still rerading this thing, but i would really like for ya'll to rate some of our songs tgrough our media player. We don't have many ratings and i'd love to hear what you guys think of the other songs. ohh yeah, while i'm thinking about it, i'm thinking of starting another page where i can put some of the other songs from the record, plus live songs, demos and b-sides. a myspace page where the music is in more of a rotation. I like this site, it operates well as an introduction, but now that were making a lot of friends out there, i'd like to give you guys some more love, some more music. wow, now it is getting a little late, geuss i'll sign off here, but email me or comment or whatever. Thanks somerset! JIM/Cigarello

Current mood: happy
Man, when we got back from athens, we were exhausted. It must be said that we had a really great time there. We arived at about 11 in the morning on saturday, just hours before we played the katrina benefit out in the mall. Playing during the day is a little weird, but it was nice to play under the open sky. We made some new friends and handed out our new cigarello.net lighters. Then we CRASHED!!! I couldn't even stay awake that night for the boxing match, and you know that means something! Let me take this opportunity now to tell you guys how much we love our hostess in athens, maleah!!! Man, this girl sure treats us right. I know she'll never read this because she never gets online, but if you know her, tell her we said 1000 thanks to her!!! The the show on monday night at the 40 watt was a blast! Echo Canyon really played well and set the stage for a great evening. I know we all had fun during our set, we even premiered our cover of crazy train to tremendous response. (many told us it was the highlight of their night.) what can i say, i knew after the canyon's set that we were really going to have to bring the rock. Now we're back home for a few days before setting out again for somerset and the great indie kinds down there. can't wait to see all the summer-heads, ta ta... JIM/Cigarello

whew, the covers are still a work in progress, but we're gearing up for a big month in october. First we head back to our former and fond home of athens ga to play a few shows there. (Plus we're even going to squeeze in a few of those cover-sessions while we're there.) Then its off to somerset for a show i'm really looking forward to. And finally, we play the big marathon shows at bluegrass tavern in our for-real home town of bardstown, ky. Then its only the 16th! So yeah, get out and see us while we're stomping around! Current mood: geeky
We spent last night practicing some of the new cover songs we've been working on for our oct. shows in bardstown. I have to admit it was a lot of fun! So far we've worked up about five of the eleven or so covers we need. (any suggestions for the remaining six?)
We also just booked a show for athens!!!!! YAY. Obviously, we love going back there so i jumped at the oppportunity to play a benifit for katrina relief. We're going to play the mall, one venue i never thought we'd play there, so that in its self is exciting. Plus I'm really looking forward to seeing all our friends there and see how things have been.
We're also still gearing up for our show in somerset! I've been getting in touch with some people out there and so far the response has been really positive. The venue sounds like a really cool place. i think we're going to make alot of friends down there.
thats all for now, keep your comments and messages coming- I love them!-JIM

Current mood: busy
We're bummed to let you guys know that our show scheduled for sept 15 at the rudyard kipling has been cancelled. No word yet as to when we can reschedule, but we will try and keep everyone posted. In the meantime, we're getting ready for our show in sommersett and also we're working up a whole bunch of covers for our shows in bardstown. (any suggestions!?!)I think a lot of people will be surprised to see some of the songs we work into our set(s). They're pretty eclectic, but we're smearing a little cigarello over all of them! Thanks for reading this, and as always, feel free to leave us messages and comments, as we love hearing from you guys!!!! Till next time...JIM
