As most of you know the Mutual Appreciation Society ran its glorious course and has come to an end. Without question, some of the most fun times i've ever had were wild sunday nights at duh Casanova. May its memories rest in all you fine people's hearts.

But now it's time for something new!
Yesssss, totally new!
Jaguar Ride is here!
and it debut's Sunday, March 16

Joining me for this endeavor is the young and spirited Carlos Bermudez, fine liquor connoisseur, crowned prince of budget rock and purveyor of all things Spats! Watching the kid dance the jitter bug to Gary Glitter wold melt even the coldest of hearts! (This has never actually happened, but if it had...)

So what are we gonna play??? Here is a short list of name dropping...
(Red Cross, Swell Maps, Television Personalities, Roxy Music, ESG, Penetrators, Milk'n'Cookies, Wire, Wizzard, Teenage Head, Simply Saucer, Roky Erickson, Chicory Tip, Toy Love, The Clean, buzzcocks, Only Ones, Protex, The Gorillas, Can, Brian Eno, Scientists, Wipers, Zeros, Alex Chilton, Chris Bell, CHROME!

Sounds gooood right?????

So what's the deal with Jaguar Ride?? What's the tunes like, dude? Can I dance to it? Are you go play anything i've ever heard before????

--The idea is to play tunes from the original "New Wave." Not New Wave as it's thought of today, like the Cars or Blondie or Flock of Seagulls. More like way back when starting in the mid seventies when all this new music that was faster and louder and stupider than all the junk cloggin up top 40 Radio was labeled the "New Wave" by mainstream music press. The term punk didn't come around til a little later. I know, i know, this really nerdy but it's what i do.
Anyway we're expanding on this labeling and covering lots of ground and ranging from the mid seventies to the early eighties, including such popular genres as proto punk, punk, post punk, power pop, glam, glitter, umm Rock and Roll? It all makes sense to us, so just come on out and find out for yourself!

---I think you can dance to any form Rock and Roll

---Most Dj's don't try and be obscure to impress people (or do they?) it's just a matter of entertaining oneself by playing songs that they themselves are big fans of. These songs fill our hearts with joy and we just want to spread them to the world in hopes everyone else will get the same joy out them. It just so happens that we are huge music nerds an listen to a lot of music so there is always a chance the non nerd hadn't dug so deep to find some new tunes.

Yup yup, we're kicking the bucket, but this ol' jalopy has still got one more ride left in her. We're bummed, but ready to move on. We've had tons of fun doing it, and hope others have too.
So, it would mean a whole lot to the two of us for everybody who ever has come out before to one of our parties to come one last time!! We really hope to make this last party supremely exceptional!

So the party is THIS Sunday, January 20th, and of course it is at the Casanova Lounge. Please come surly, colorfully dressed and ready to dance.

This will also be a farewell to Brother Dylan as we see him off to his new adventures living in Nashville. Be sure to give him a farewell noogie or wet willy or any other gesture of affection when you see him.

It's the monthly Mutual Appreciation Society, Hoory Hurrah!

We've done it before, we'll do it again, but the end is sight!

There are but a small handfull of Mutual Appreciation Parties left and after that we'll leave it to the cosmos or some other method for misinforming important decisions of what to do with our monthly date with the 'nova.

SOOOOOOOOOO, anyone who has enjoyed this little party we do in the past,  do feel free to join us this sunday for the grand old time we strive to achieve.

In order to make this posting more interesting I wanted to find a particular Utube video, but I got sidetracked and ended up with six. hah. Anyone out there bored? Scroll past the flier.

Well, one year has indeed come to pass since we (the brothers simon) started our joint venture with the Casanova lounge to bring friends, passerbys, bar flies, and like minded individuals together through our unsettling fascination with them crazy sixties sounds, and we'd like to say that it's been one hell of a god damn good time!

Shit, it's been fantastic!

And now we're ready to throw our biggest, and without question, best party yet!

So, Sunday April 15, 2007 be sure to get yourself down to the Casanova Lounge (on Valencia, at 16th st.) for one hell of a Hullabaloo! A super Shindig! A seriously righteous Ready Steady Go! A bountiful Bonanza!

As usual we'll be playing those far out psyched jams and fuzzed out garage gems the first half the night, and closing with our own brand of sweaty floor filling soooouuuulll.

Daaaannnnnngggg! Let's hear your requests! Leave a comment with your choice number on this month's flier in the picture section! Don't be shy, if we've got it, and it's good, we'll play it!And there will be surprises! Surprises you will take home with you and remind of the fun you had! If you can't tell from the length of this writing, this is not to be missed.

Juuussst goooooo duuuude!

HI, I want everybody to meet Pete, he's the guy on the flier. He's from the moon Titan, you know, the second largest moon in the Solar System that has recently been photographed displaying seas of some unknown liquid very possibly being water and able to support alien life!?!!! Well, Pete flown a long ways to party with us, so come say hi and we'll all do the Watusi together. Just be mindful of his busy hands.
Casanooooooova. March, eiggghhhtteeenth. That's a Sunday of course.

i know it has been some time now, my friends. another month has passed, in which we have all been waiting idly for this day to return. in a month's time we celebrated our day of admiration for those we love, and experienced great rainfall, which broke into sunshine.

on sunday, february 18, myself and robbie are going to cart a bunch of our records to the casanova lounge* and let forth a flood of sounds. there will be authentic specimens from the bygone age of the ol' 1960's, with rhythm and blues, soul, garage, pop, and psychedelia all represented. we hope to make you cry, cheer, shout, and dance all in one night. this is an emotional gathering of the highest and most enjoyable sort. all of us friends will be together, experiencing this as one!

i'll see you brothers and sisters, sunday night, and 9pm. we depart at 2am. and remember you needn't pay admission!
