The City Park and Rec. Department has made many improvements to the City Parks and Neighborhood Pools over the last couple of years.

Gile’s has done an outstanding job writing grants for new playground equipment and helping to improve the parks with the assistance of his maintenance crews.
It is wonderful to see the children and family’s playing together outside on the new playground equipment.

The neighborhood councils and various other Great Falls Citizens have raised thousands of dollars to improve their parks and neighborhoods, through Bake and Yard Sales.

The residents of Great Falls have also stepped up to the plate to pay for the badly needed repairs at the neighborhood pools through the mill levy they voted on and passed.  The Mill Levy which was voted on and passed included all three (3) Neighborhood pools: the Mitchell Pool, the Water Tower Pool, and the Jaycee Pool.

Making improvements to these pools and keeping the fees low has increased the number of people swimming at the neighborhood pools.
Why?  The children can afford to go to them.

This is the reason we must OPPOSE the $1.00/person increase in open swim fees, especially on children under the age of 18.

I believe by keeping the fees low you will continue to see an increase in children and adults that swim at the neighborhood pools.

This in turn will result in increased revenue. (Low Fees = More People)

The older children will be upset, but they will more than likely pay the higher fees for the water slide, and/or the wave and flow rider once they are at Mitchell Pool.  Many of them have jobs and can afford the increased prices.
Businesses and organizations will also be able to afford the pool rental fee increases.

Learn more about what is going on in your City, State and Nation, and do NOT be afraid to pass the information onto others.
An open government is an honest government.
I would like to thank everyone for their feedback.
People may have a different point of view on a topic, but if we take the time to listen to these views, we may learn something in the process that will benefit us all.

The City Park and Rec. Department is a valuable asset to the City of Great Falls. The staff at the Park and Rec. Department work many long hours to organize and manage events and activities that residents of Great Falls take for granted.

We all love the City of Great Falls.
That is why we serve as volunteers on the various boards, councils, and committees trying to improve it.

Wouldn't it be great if everyone could

Bailout Solution for the Big Three (3) Ford, Chrysler, GM

If the Big Three (3) auto makers want money here is a WIN, WIN solution for the TAX PAYERS, AUTO DEALERS, AUTO MAKERS, and the people who want America to go GREEN

Issue a $15,000 tax credit to every TAX PAYER.  The tax credit can only be used to purchase a fuel efficient (50 MPG or better) vehicle from Ford, Chrysler, or GM.

If the bailout money is coming from the TAX PAYERS, then they should reap some of the rewards.

First tax payers would be able to afford to purchase a NEW fuel efficient vehicle.  This would lower the amount of money spent on purchasing fuel, and/or paying for repairs on older vehicles.  The money saved could then be spent on other goods and services.

Second the auto dealers would be forced to start selling fuel efficient vehicles that the tax payers are demanding.

Third the big three (3) auto makers would be forced to start making fuel efficient that the tax payers are demanding.  They would receive millions of new orders for fuel efficient vehicles, which in turn would keep millions of people employed.

However, the big three (3) auto makers will still have to get their spending under control.  They should start by getting rid of their private jets and purchasing plane tickets like everyone else.  Then they need to take a good look at how much money is being spent in their current union contracts.

If the AUTO UNIONS do not care about what happens to the future of the Big Three Auto Makers and to everyone else in America, then maybe it is time to get rid of the Auto Unions!

Wake up America !!!
Stop the government handouts for Big Business!!!

Fuel efficient vehicles SHOULD be powered by natural gas, and/or batteries and designed using American ingenuity.  They should NOT be powered by TAXPAYER bailout money and designed using American Union greed.
