How do,

This Friday sees Uncle Pedro play for the first time Upstairs at the Garage, or the "Relentless Garage" as it is now known in the shiny new world of corporately sponsored music venues. Not wanting to fall foul of our new overlords, but is calling a drink Relentless the wisest marketing move? Surely that would suggest a beverage that is to be endured, rather than savoured.

Regardless... uh hum... here goes.

Being a singerist in a indee-wronk band, rockin' the main stage builds up a helluva thirst. That's why Uncle Pedro only drink... etc. etc. Bring on the dancing girls, the jaunty theme and the gravelly voice over tossing words around  like "stamina" and "energy" like they had always meant to be followed with the word "drink". Fade out...

Right... More importantly than all of that, Friday is SILVER ROCKET, and we're MORE than happy to endorse this club night - which has us, the brill Cove and more indie-rock floorfillers than you can shake yo' ass at - till the cows come knocking to be let in.

Current mood:  surprised
Very last minute, I realise, but... we are playing this Saturday
(28th March) as part of an evening's entertainment at the Hackney
Empire where we are appearing alongside new perennial stage buddies
Pocus Whiteface. And it's FREE, FREE, FREE!

Alas, it is not in the actual Theatre bit itself but in the Marie
Lloyd bar where undoubtedly the pre-show drink crowd will be both
shocked and appalled at what they've walked into. We will aim to
please. Orders for sludge metal jams for the interval will be taken at
the bar.

Deeeeets! -

Blind Baby Animal @ Marie Lloyd Bar, Hackney Empire

Happy knew, yeah? Yeah! Awesome. Now, to business. Despite saying/not saying that we would not be playing for "a while" due to some of our other more grown up endeavors, we sometimes have an offer arrive in the bulging postbag that is our gig offers errr... imaginary... uhm... postbag that we simply cannot refuse. And not the Marlon-Brando-Putting-A-Severed-Horse-Head-In-Your-Bed kind of offer we can't refuse thank goodness but the Play-An-Awesome-Silver-Rocket-At-The-Buffalo-Bar-On-January-16th-Please-Thank-You kind, you understand. And so who are we, with our non-existant, not really bulging at all, imaginary postbag to say no to that. So it is with boundless joy that we can announce that our first gig since August will be on Friday 16th January at the Buffalo Bar at the outstanding Silver Rocket club night with some other bands yet to be announced. Given their track record they doubtless be great (us excluded, of course. *Blush*). And perhaps you'll stick around for their club night after the bands pack up and free the stage for some shape throwing to obtuse rock and pop records from throughout the ages. Dan has done this at Silver Rocket before and highly recommends it if you're into that sort of thing. Uncle Pedro ALIVE with others tbc at Silver Rocket Buffalo Bar Highbury Corner London N1 1RU (Right next door to Highbury & Islington tube and the bus stops at the end of Upper Street, Islington) £5/£4 with flyer available from the "get in cheap!" page on the silverrocket.org website (or even join their mailing list to get in for £3). Doors 8-about 3/4ish. Bands finish up around 11.30pm usually. More infos available from www.silverrocket.org, myspace.com/silverrocketclub and our own website, myspace, facebook things.

Hi!

Just to let you all know about our forthcoming gig on the 19th of
October. Buffalo Bar plays host to the monthly Silver Rocket club
night and if it's like any of the other times I've been to you can
expect awesome bands (clearly...) and a club night with a more
outward looking playlist than your typical indie/rock night in
town... in their own words - "think songs by the pixies that aren't
debaser" - you get the picture. And anywhere where you can shake yo'
ass to Shellac in public and not feel totally ridiculous is to be
highly commended.

We're really chuffed to be asked to play and highly recommend coming
along for it.

Friday 19th October
Silver Rocket @ Buffalo Bar
Highbury Corner
London, N1 1RU

Right next door to Highbury & Islington tube, beneath The Famous Cock
pub.

8pm - late

With Wry and more...

£6/£4 with NUS or flyer available from their site if you follow the
"get in cheap" link here.

Been a while huh?...We're breaking silence to let you know about a rather exciting festival we've very kindly asked to be part of. All-round awesome gig put-onners A Badge Of Friendship are organising two all day festivals on two weekends at Imperial College Union in July and taking part are some mighty tasty bands including Meet Me In St Louis, Gin Panic, Soeza and the wonderfully named Geordi La Force. And Us. 7th and 28th of July are the dates, with yours truly on the 28th for an all day affair with 9 other tasty acts of the independent rock variety and DJ's from Drowned In Sound playing from noon on, all for £10.

Tickets are available in advance from seetickets from this link here.
PLEASE NOTE... tickets will not be available at the door and you are kindly asked to book in advance if you wish to attend either date.

After all the unexpected excitement a couple of weeks ago, and to celebrate the imminent return of Spring, Uncle Pedro are coming back to rock your face.

A Badge Of Friendship presents an evenings entertainment at the Vibe Bar in Brick Lane this Tuesday the 20th March. We'll be opening for Headcases who are traveling from France and stopping off on their tour of the UK. The whole thing starts off from 7.30 and... it's free to join in the fun! We'll do our best to stop Vince having a curry beforehand and so prevent the inevitable funk which would consequently emanate from his person but we're making no promises. Gas or no, this one will SLAY. Do not miss it.

Oh, and then there is the small matter of the record. April.... hopefully. If Dan gets his act together. Abuse and grief can be directed at him in the usual places
