WolfeBlitzer is pleased to announce the return of Bill "The Bossman" Thompson as drummer. As some of you know, Bill had played with us previously but had to step down for personal reasons. Fortunately for us, things change and we are happy to have him back. The Bossman has always been a great friend to WolfeBlitzer, even filling in occcasionally at gigs if needed before circumstances changed to allow his return to the fold. Welcome back, Bossman! We are currently looking for bookings and hope to be out at a club near you very soon!!

Hey fans and friends: It's been awhile so I thought I'd drop a blog to catch y'all up on some of our happenings. Sorry for staying away from MYSPACE for such a long time. While it's exciting to communicate with everyone, there's a lot of smack that goes around this site too, so to maintain a peaceful spirit, I like to take a break from time to time.
As many of you already know, Ben Matthews is no longer a part of our project. I don't want to spend a lot of time on the details of his departure, we'll say that it was mutual. We've known Ben since he was just 13 years old playing open mikes and saturdays at Guitar Center. We took a big gamble working with someone so young - long story short, our gamble did not pay off. The break up was not friendly, that's unfortunate because it could have been. Unfortunately, there is a business side to music and some folks don't do very well with that part, I will leave it at that. We would be open to discussing this part privately with anyone who wishes to.
The good news is that we now have a KILLER rhythm section. Chris Peterson on the drums, Taylor on the bass, Lee on guitar is a very rock solid combination. It is so exciting to hear the music played at the right tempo and consistency. We are so very inspired by this teams tenacity and dedication to our music, the level of confidence is undisputable and you'll be able to tell when you hear us play next. I've also been SWIMMING and losing lots of inches! But even more importantly, the constant cardio of swimming has given me even more vocal control and power. I had a recent bout with severe allergies that took away my voice for about a week, but I'm back stronger than ever now!
We have a backlog of original tunes that we'll be working on adding to the set and recording in the near future. We love the studio and "givng birth" to new productions. We are also trying to branch out to new venues and regions. Likely we'll be featured in the upcoming LONESTAR RALLY in November and that is very exciting indeed!
You know WolfeBlitzer, we get down but never out - our hearts get sick but we never die. While there's breath in me and Lee and we are together, there will be WOLFEBLITZER - mark it down. We are always on the radar, so we are always a target, attention is attention. We'll stay focused on the prize, we love those who love our kind of metal and we'll die trying to please them and ourselves. take care everyone, life is very short, live it up and FORGETTA BOUT IT!
Val :)
p.s. we are looking for another guitarist, but we are in no hurry, the next guy has to be the right guy. We need an adult teamplayer who works hard, can rehearse 3 times per week, gig 2-3 times per month, pro gear, transportation, job, can share room rent and not adverse to travelling regionally and ultimately overseas. I like a guitarist with a very, solid right hand rhythm chunkier than hell, but he needs to play leads (not during the verses though). Send em our way, thanks so much and stay cool.

SO YOU SAY YOU WANT TO DO METAL? If you aspire to do it well, you better think long and hard about what you are requiring of yourself. It takes much more dedication and sacrifice to do it well than most people think. It's not "money for nothing and chicks for free" - anything worth having takes WORK, TIME and DEDICATION. You might have to endure abuse, disrespect, rejection and heartache - you might have to cut good friends (bandmates) loose if they're not on board with the direction the music is taking you. It can be sad and everytime it happens, a piece of your heart goes as well. But, if you know in your heart you were put on this earth to serve the metal, the promise of the prize calls you and causes you to carry on with the banner waving high. Those who fell by the wayside may never fully understand what they forsook, most of them probably don't care, but that separates the soldiers from the posers.
Take heart, metal soldiers. This is for you. You may trudge along day after day, dreaming and perfecting your craft. You may not get noticed, you may not get the respect you deserve, but there are little eyes and ears watching to see how you will handle the down side of this journey. Everybody loves the spotlight, the cameras, the high fives, but when the rubber hits the road, when things get difficult, what are you really made of? Can you rise above the wanna be's, the nay-sayers, the posers and say "this is what I was meant for and no one or nothing is going to stop me EVER." If you were meant for the metal, your love will show in how you apply yourself EVERYDAY and in EVERY circumstance. When this road ceases to be all fun and games, that's when the world sees what you're made of. Sometimes greatness comes by much sweat and many tears - I wouldn't trade it for the world - it'll make the victory that much sweeter.
I love the metal, I love those who love the metal. Metal won't wait - we serve it while we still have the breath in us.

We all know Texas has some great women AND we all know Texas has some great metal music! On Friday, June 9th, FBI Rocks Club #1 will feature 4 great metal bands fronted by 4 of Texas' best women of metal. The show is the brainchild of Val Seals, front woman of Houston's WolfeBlitzer. WolfeBlitzer has been around the Houston Metal scene for about 4 years now and has made it's mark in the local music scene. The band has just completed the recording and mixing of it's first full length cd, tentatively titled "Lonely World". The bands demo "Metal From the Ashes" continues to gain international recognition and it's popularity is still spreading throughout Europe.
In addition to WolfeBlitzer the June 9th show will feature Austin heavy, IGNITOR, featuring the great Erika Swinnich on vocals. Erika has been likened to her idol, Rob Halford. Those who have ever seen IGNITOR perform will attest that the songs and the show are well worth the price of admission and will be remembered for a long time to come.
Also on the bill is a band that is relatively new to the Houston scene, Silenced Within. Silenced Within is fronted by the lovely goth queen, Sloanie. The music and the performance are mezmerizing, you will not be able to keep your eyes off of them nor will you be disappointed. They are described as "SILENCED WITHIN IS A WILD RIDE OF THEATRICAL GOTHIC PERFORMANCES PLUS EPIC SURREAL SONGS."
And finally, inner loop discovery, La Sed will open the show. La Sed was a band founded in Puerto Rico and grown, developed in Texas. Ashlen Court is the female front of La Sed and her free spirited performance style is a rare find. The band is said to sound like "Evanescence meets 30 Seconds To Mars meets Dave Matthews Band meets System Of A Down!?!"
You go girls, we love our Texas Women of Metal, let's prove it on June 9th!

I won't any time soon! Lee and I vowed to collect as many "retro" metal cds as possible. We had like, the albums or tapes (showing my age), but we would like the cd's. We got Helloween, Accept, Lynch and the stuffs probably starting ooze out of us now. Face it, our (generation's) music was the best and if you don't believe your generation's music is the best, you ought to look into becoming a part of the generation who's music you love :)
I have to say Houston has some metal savvy people, some of us are hiding, we know you're there....come out and play some metal! The good shiznit! There's a good market when we're all together! Let's draw attention to Houston, we have the shtuff to back it up!!!! Houston is under-appreciated, I've heard some very amazing music here....I've only been here for four years, but if someone asks where I come from, I say Houston now, with pride :)

Learning some interesting things while undergoing this line up change. Folks we thought were friends are really not so at all. Others we thought of as acquantances are really pulling through for us and extending unprecedented kindness (special thanks to EPIC, VICTIM and SIX MINUTE CENTURY) . I've been hitting the stage recently with other bands (as guest) and they respect that WolfeBlitzer is moving forward. But........
I won't name names, but there was someone who expressed that they didn't think it was appropriate that I was making guest appearances representing WOLFEBLITZER since (they thought) technically we are not a band. What this (former) "friend" failed to note was that this band was started over 10 years ago by Lee and I in L.A. - AND that no matter where we go or who plays with us, we are still WOLFEBLITZER. While we will always retain a position of respect for those who join our band, the project is the brainchild of Lee and Val Seals and we will nurture it until WE say it's over.
That being said, we are very excited about the progress of the band. Since there are still a few loose ends to tie, we won't be specific here about who will be joining us. But, lest friends and foes wonder, you can expect a new cd in the next few months and we have two shows booked for August 19th and last Saturday in September.
Doesn't sound to me like we're limping around lost, much to the dismay of those who rejoiced at our "demise" - pa-leeeeze!
Comments eluding to the supposition that this band is over simply fuels the fire more and makes us even more determined. So - bring it! We have a lot of good years in us - do not ever underestimate our desire to continue to do what we love....it's a force that can't be squelched by a few nay-sayers. Folks would do well to just watch and wait because there is much more to follow! Much, much more.
To be continued..................peace out. Val

Well, the dust has settled a couple of days since the unauthorized announcement was made that the band, WolfeBlitzer got pared down to it's core, Lee and Val - that's where the band began and, officially, that's where the band stands now. But, lest any fans or foes be interested, the band has every intention of carrying forward with it's usual flare. We have many plans and have been continually writing and developing new material, some of which is going in surprising directions.... but never fear, we love good, crunchy and heartfelt METAL! METAL is what pulled us out of our 9 to 5 stupor and lured us back into the world of the FANTASTIC! We want to thank the Houston music community that has stood behind us and continues to encourage us along. Some of you are stepping up to the plate, but there are only two spots left in the band, so we can't have everyone join - For those of you who do not get in - we promise to come and support whatever you are developing - as many know, Lee and I are supporters of the local rock and metal scene. We truly love our friends and fans and want to tell you WolfeBlitzer is not over, but lives as long as Lee and Val Seals are alive and together. Take Care Everybody! To Be Continued...............................................

EYESORE SO HIGH
When attack is in your contemplation
Atomic bombs can sacrifice a nation
Acts of contrition, A million conditions,
See the exhibition as it rains!
I soar so I above it all
I can see a thing or two from here, I'm tall!
Can someone show me a better way?????
Down a rocky, convoluted road
A weighty stone to throw, A mighty heavy load to tow
Tear down the graven face of stone,
The visage of holy fire, the only one that you desire
I am tethered down beneath it all
I can smell a thing or two from here, that's all –
Can someone show me a better way?
(It's the hope of us all)
And still we carry on anyway
And we do okay
Or so we say……
(break)
When your freedom is your destination
A building block defining your creation
Acts of precision, A million decisions,
Sealing your mission once again!
I soar so I above it all
I can see a thing or two from here, I'm tall!
Can someone show me a better way?
(He's the Hope of us all)
And still we carry on anyway
And we do okay
Or so we say……
