Current mood:  enlightened
Just added a live recording of the Mountain of Power live rendition of Free's "Fire & Water". This song was never recorded in the studio and only played live at Sweden Rock in 2007, the only ever MoP live show!
It was recorded by Swedish Radio and is now free for download!
Line-up on this track:
Mikael Nord Andersson: vocals (verses) + guitar right
Chris Catena: vocals (chorus)
Janne Stark: guitar left
Nalle Påhlsson: bass
TrumPeter Svensson: drums

A slight change of plans in the mixing. Pelle Saether will do the trick this time around, too and he has started doing his magic. The first reference track prooves Vol 2 will probably kick the butt of Vol 1 (which is not easy). However with these musicians, this sound wizzard and these songs, what could possibly go wrong?

Current mood:  jolly
It's been a long road, but I think I've got most of the riffs nailed down as demos :-)
Now it's time to start finalizing the demos, arrangements, singers, guest guitarists etc. There are some AWESOME guys already on the "team", but there are some more spots to be filled.

This time I've also combined two or more songs into one, plus snuck in some sneaky riffs from other tracks :-)
Here are the tracks (all of them may not end up on the actual CD):
1. Struck Down/25 Hours/Come On Over (Yesterday & Today)
2. Bad Penny/Keychain (Rory Gallagher)
3. Indian Dawn (Electric Sun)
4. Oh War (Max Webster)
5. Waves (Resurrection Band)
6. I Stand Alone (Blackfoot)
7. Money (Leslie West Band)
8. Urban Guerilla (Sammy Hagar)
9. Dirty Weapon (Trigger)
10. Talkin' Bout A Feeling (Mahogany Rush)
11. Bedroom Thang (ZZ Top)
12. Monkey (Trapeze) (dedicated to Mel Galley who selected the song, too)
13. Makin' Magic/Makes No Difference (Pat Travers)
14. Sister Madness/Checking Out (Ozz)
15. Reasons Love/This Kids (UFO)
16. MoP 2 (instrumental original)

I did try out some more stuff that unfortunately didn't make it, this time, by Ocean, Diamond REO, Dirty Tricks, Cain, Thundermug, Bang, etc. Next time maybe? ;-)

Mountain of Power Vol 2?
Yes, of course!

I've already started looking into possible songs to cover on the next volume. There's a lot of possible contenders in my book: Trapeze, Armageddon, Max Webster, Thundermug, Legs Diamond, Resurrection Band, November, Robin Trower, Rory Gallagher, Stray, Night Sun, Brownsville Station, A Foot In Cold Water, Angel, Axis, Bang, Hard Stuff, Mother's Finest, Nutz, Paris, Rex, Detective, Dirk Steffens, Styx, Thin Lizzy, Tractor, Trigger, Leslie West Band, Crack The Sky, Geordie, Walter Rossi, Boomerang, Cain or why not another track by Moxy, Goddo, Captain Beyond or Point Blank?  To name a few.

Well, the process is just started so the field is yet wide open. I'll start demoing stuff as soon as I have time off from my ongoing recordings and bands (SALT, Constancia, Sir Lord Baltimore), start bouncing stuff with Joe "The Groovedawg Mastermind" Romagnola at Grooveyard Records, decide on which guests to ask etc. Like Vol 1, this is a labour of love, and each song has to mean something to me, and I won't cover stuff that has been covered a hundred times before. I want the unsung songs that I used to sing (well... play, that is).

This time I will not limit myself to only include only Swedish guests singers/musicians, that field is open, too, and I've already been in touch with some highly interesting people!

The process has just started, but I'm already looking forward to doing this!

Current mood:  awake

A chain of events has now resulted in a new band formation. As you may know Six Feet Under/Baltimoore singer Björn Lodin sang on two tracks on the MoP album, Micke "Nord" Andersson played guitar and sang on three. We also did a great show at the Sweden Rock Festival this summer.

Well, one thing lead to another. Björn asked me if I was into forming a new band, and we asked Micke. The result became the foundation of the new Baltimoore line-up! A new album is in the making and should be finished before new year. Björn and myself have been beating our musical writing brains and come up with some really cool groovy melodic riffing!
