Category: Life
I’ll try to keep this short and sweet because at the end of the day, it’s only rock n roll and I’m pretty confident that the sun will still come up tomorrow after you’re done reading this. Being in a band is a lot like being married. You spend most of your time together, you experience lots of highs and lows and from time to time you argue. Sometimes though, unfortunately the bad ends up outweighing the good and the only thing left to do is to get a divorce. (Trust me, I have first hand experience in these matters.) The sex (playing live?!) may still be good, but the rest of the relationship is beyond repair and deep down, you know that it’s time to turn the page in your life and start a new chapter. So it is with a heavy heart, that I’ve decided to leave Teenage Casket Company. The band I started back in late 2003 and the band I got tattooed on my arm in 2004. I’ve had some fantastic times and some rough times too, but I regret nothing. Even though the band has only seemingly been part-time since 2007, it’s still been a big part of my life and I can assure you that it’s a major wrench to let it go. But situations change and people change too. But of course, life goes on and I’ve taken the tough decision to move on too. I had wanted to stretch out my involvement with TCC until at least Christmas, but unfortunately I can no longer do that. So my farewell to the Coffin Kids will be on Sunday September 27th at The Vic Inn in Derby. I’m not going to shill like crazy for this gig and make a big deal about it, but if you’ve ever cared about TCC, then it’d be great to see you there. Let’s make it a night to remember baby. Whatever the guys decide to do, I wish them well. And it goes without saying that you’ll still be able to catch me treading the boards with The Dangerfields, so please, shed no tears for me! Thanks to all the fans and my friends worldwide from the bottom of my heart. And may the music of TCC live on forever. "Is this the beginning of the end, or the end of the beginning?" Give thanks, stay positive. Jamie Delerict - 9th September 2009

TrashStock 2009 - You were all awesome!! Thanks to everyone that came out, sang along and hung out with us. To Jaimz & Michelle and all the Bands - thanks for having us! For those who didn't make it - here's a taster of what you missed!! 'Don't Look At Me Like That'
It’s August which means it’s time for Trashstock, Nottingham’s finest one day rock festival. This year’s event has had its share of hiccups along the way, a change of headliners, two of the bands splitting up, last minute transport problems and a brilliantly crafted practical joke by the band whose homecoming after two years is the most anticipated event since the return of Jesus of Nazareth! Event organisers James & Michelle Wright (Riot Promotions) have had their work cut out dealing with all these problems but as usual they’ve sailed through the storm unbowed. Teenage Casket Company, are back together for the first time (with original line-up) in two years and with a couple of gigs under their belts already they cruise into Trashstock via Wales where the afore mentioned practical joke took place. Promoter James ‘Riot’ Wright was informed that TCC had had an altercation and split up, a totally plausible ‘con’ which he swallowed whole. Thankfully this was all just high jinks and with a massively enthusiastic reception Nottingham’s very own prodigal sons were genuinely cheered onto the stage as if the messiah himself had entered the building. With no new material written yet TCC crank out old but gold favourites such as 'Don’t Look At Me Like That', 'Cocaine', 'Mirrors & Wires' and 'Ain’t got nothin on me' pleasing the masses in abundance. GD Man Of Metal Blog'Cocaine' Now judging by the flock of female fans rushing to the front of the stage for the next band, I was a little worried I was going to be watching a punk/rock version of Take That but thank God I was wrong! Ok yes, Teenage Casket Company look like Poison and yes they try for the whole arena sound thing and yes you could be forgiven for thinking Seven was actually the TARDIS and you had been taken back to the rockin’ eighties but oh boy it was fun. Actually no it was Fun with a capital F. This band gives you sleazy rock riffed music that oozes the eighties feel and makes you smile with their energy and humour ridden lyrics. Bloody ace! Midlands Rock Review
'Mirrors & Wires' The much anticipated return of Teenage Casket Company is upon us and I'm not disappointed. I've never been disappointed with them and it was like seeing them 3 years ago. Good and Solid. 'Don't look at me' was a brilliant way to start off their set considering that Jamie Delerict is wearing a t shirt that says 'Cunt' with an arrow pointing to none other than Rob Wylde (the cheeky banter between these boys never ceases to amaze me). As always my favourite Bass Whore, Laney74 is on top form and blows his amp! Feedback or not, welcome back boys! Komodo Rock'Aint Got Nothin On Me' The long awaited return of Teenage Casket Company is upon us. Promoter Wright introduces the band and mentions that the promoter from TCC’s gig last night in Wales did a wind up by commenting that Rob Wylde threw his beer at Jamie Delerict … this proved to be the wind up … however, 3 bands off of the bill would have been a shambles. TCC ripped into trademark track ‘Don’t Look At Me Like That’ and the mass assembled crowd went bonkers. ‘Cocaine’ from TCC’s EP ‘Eat Your Heart Out’ went down a treat. It was a set of ‘The Hits’ (aka the most hook laden songs in the TCC songbook). All bar the nasty feedback, its good to have them back. Pure Rawk

Hello fiends. Long time no speak. Sometimes no news is good news, but this time we do actually have some tangible news. News that you can feel, reach out and touch! All TCC members have been flapping their gums and talking to each other a lot more than usual recently, trying to figure out what we want to do and how we want to do it. And honestly, if we even want to do it all! It's been a long time since our last live show (July 2008) and even longer since the original four of us got together and kicked it on stage. (November 2007!)
I know that most of you know our story. If you don't, then I recommend reading some old blogs, or better still, our own individual blogs. I don't think that any band in the UK worked harder than us between the years of 2004 and 2007. But quite simply, we hit the preverbial glass ceiling and try as we might, we just couldn't break through. We accomplished a lot in a short period of time, but we always had our sights set a lot higher. Eventually though, we all got burned out and even though breaking up was discussed, we agreed to just go our seperate ways and do our own things for a while. However, we all agreed to keep the TCC flame burning.
So now, I'd like to confirm that Summer 2009, TCC will indeed be getting back together for a few shows. This time though, it's different. There is no expectations. No big record deal to chase. No management fuck-arounds. No putting all our eggs in one basket. No money? No problem! We're doing this because we miss playing the songs, we miss playing together and aw shucks, golly-gee.... We genuinely miss our fans and the die-hards that have always stuck with us. That's the truth.
Please remember, if you don't read it here, it ain't happening. We might go back into the studio before the gigs and we might not. We may tour the UK for two weeks or we may just play a couple of shows. We may book more tours after this or it may be the last time that you see us. No promises, no expectations, just a good time. And if you have a problem with that, please fight Rob Wylde.
So, on August 8th 2009, we return to the festival that we made famous, the event that we headlined in 2005, the UKs greatest annual rock n roll spectacle: TRASHSTOCK. More news to follow.... Maybe. ;)
Jamie Delerict.
PS. Happy Birthday Jerry Only!

Hey all... Laney here...
First up, here's what we've been up to and got coming up.....
Rob Wylde is still busy with SINS OF AMERICA over in Boston USA. They've just released their debut CD which can be ordered through their MySpace Page. The SINS have one show left in 2008 and can be found rocking the house on December 10th at JR's in Rhode Island. Then Rob will be doing a solo acoustic show at the ADC Center in Southbridge, MA. There's sure to be a few TCC Tunes and some rock classics thrown into his set so get along if you can.
Metal Sludge recently did their world famous '10 Questions' with Rob and you can read his no holds barred answers HERE
Finally, Wylde was lucky enough to get to the SELL OUT TRIXTER Concert in New Jersey recently and can be seen in the crowd here! You don't know how jealous I am over this!!

Check out the write up with our old friend CC BANANA who bumped in to Rob at the show.
Jamie is still keeping busy with Irish Rock Legends THE DANGERFIELDS and they're still on track to record their new album early next year.

Spike is currently working with Nottingham band OVERVIBE. Some of you may recognise their Lead Singer / Guitarist as Si Aljewicz who played guitar along with Laney and Spike in COURTESAN back in the day! The band are currently writing new songs and looking for a new bassist to complete their line up but you can add their MySpace Page right HERE.
I've had probably my busiest year yet touring with just about anyone who'll have me! I recently completed my second UK / European Tour with THE BULLETBOYS and it was an absolutely awesome experience. You can read my Diary right HERE if you have time.
To end the year I've got two shows with DIP. The first at Junktion 7 on December 18th (more on that later) and a final Christmas Show at The Royal Oak in Cotmanhay as part of the Revolution Night.
*****************************************************
So 2008 is nearly over and Teenage Casket Company have stayed pretty much silent other than our 'One Night Only' show at J7 back in July. For those that missed that gig most of the songs are HERE
This year has gone so fast and you wouldn't believe the amount of people who have asked me... 'So, what's happening with TCC?'
I've tried to give the most honest answer which is 'I don't really know!'
I'm sure a fair few people out there think we've split up and aren't together anymore and that's not true. As things stand right now, Wylde will be returning from a year in the USA this Christmas and work will begin on new TCC material. He's told me he has a shed load of songs ready to go which I'm looking forward to hearing. What 2009 will hold in store for us though I return to the words 'I don't really know!' We'll be picking what we do next - very carefully.
Things have changed so much over the past couple years. Things are very different in 'our scene' or whatever you want to call it, the music industry in general and even between the four of us as a band. We've each moved on so much personally since our last tour and we each have different agendas and priorities so who knows?
I'm excited about the prospect of another TCC Album, personally I think we owe it to ourselves and to the few of you out there who constantly ask what we're up to. We've had people say they'd love to work with us on making it as big and exciting as possible which is really cool. So we'll see what happens.
Thank you all so much for your patience and continued support both in TCC and everything we are involved in. It really means a lot to each of us.
As Jamie put it so brilliantly a while ago... 'The TCC Flame still burns!'
*****************************************************
Finally, most of you may have already heard but one of Nottingham's premier music venues is closing down at the end of the year. I don't know the whole story and reasons behind it but it will be a very sad day when Junktion7 closes it's doors for one final time on New Years Eve. TCC played their very first gig there... we played there 3 times on The Erotics Brawl For It All Tours... headlined the very first TRASH-STOCK festival and played the sell out event a couple of years later. We have A LOT of memories invested in that place.

I hope you'll all join us for one last blow out Riot Promotions show on December 18th as DIP take to the stage along with our friends Patchwork Grace, Zen Motel, Disarm and the James Warner Prophecies. Best of all this gig is Free as a thank you to everyone!
See you in 2009!!!!!
Love to you all....
Laney

It's available to order right now at Amazon and other places like that. I'll let Noel, the author give you the details:
Hey Jamie (& crew),
The Band Name Book (in which you are proudly and prominently featured) is finally available! It is now physically shipping to bookstores in North America. It may take a few weeks to make it out of the respective warehouses and onto shelves at the larger chain stores, but it is available through Amazon online as of yesterday.
The distribution company hopes to sell additional European and Australian rights in October at the huge Frankfurt Book Fair. Meanwhile the book will appear as a Christmas gift selection in a South African book club catalogue.
Review copies are being sent out as I type, so watch for those in your city's newspapers and in the music magazines over the next few months.
The book looks fabulous, thanks to your contributions, and I really hope it heightens interest in independent music in general, and Band Name Book bands specifically.
If you go to www.myspace.com/bebopamoeba, in the Pics, I've posted a "Featured In" The Band Name Book jpeg that you're welcome to grab for your website.
Thank you, thank you, thank you once more for your generous contribution to this project. Drop me line occasionally and let me know what you're up to.
Now...I'm popping the champagne cork and spraying all of you. Congratulations, we made a big, shiny book!
Cheers, Noel.
That's all for now folks, STAY POSITIVE! Jamie D.x
