CAIN-DIAZ FILMS Press Release Contact: Robert Haines FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Phone: (206) 427-6876 9 A.M. PST, May 5, 2008 LOVED ONES TO FILM IN MT. VERNON, WA MT. VERNON, WA, MAY 5, 2008: Loved Ones" –a vampire tale– is currently filming in Mount Vernon, WA. Produced by local filmmakers Cain-Diaz Films, "Loved Ones" will star Daniel Roebuck (US Marshals, Devil's Rejects), Brett Hunt (Numbers, Boston Legal, True Blood), Chuck Williams (Girls Next Door), Camden Toy (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and Duane Whitaker (Pulp Fiction, From Dusk Till Dawn 2). Synopsis: Loved Ones is a contemporary Vampire story set in present day Seattle. Serbia (the son of an Oracle whose father sat at the right hand of Zeus), once roamed the earth as the man Judas Iscariot, and is now the leader of an entire race of Vampires. His goal, as it has been since the crucifixion of Christ, is to bring into captivity, enslave, and feed upon the entire human race. Taw, a retiring Police Detective whose life up until now has been filled with car chases, shootouts, and family barbeques, is currently up against the biggest foe of his life. The question, however, is whether this foe is Serbia or himself. The suspense heightens as Taw is placed in the precarious position of choosing between his lovely wife Beth or the beast who is determined to bring evil upon all of humankind. With characters such as the sexy and seductive Hillary, the off-the-hook Vampire slayer Gus, the hot and sultry Isabella, a junkie-pimp called K.C., the meek and mild Mr. Tingle, a street-hardened cop by the name of Tony, and Taw's loving wife Beth, you are bound to be able to relate to at least one person… even if you aren't yet a Vampire. With an all-star cast that is filled with seasoned actors, Nashville singers, and some of the best makeup, costume, and tech people in the movie industry, this is a film you won't want to miss. However, it does come with a warning of sorts: "If you are faint of heart or pregnant, do not watch this movie, because it will disturb you". Synopsis: Beth Raymond is traumatized when she witnesses the gruesome deaths of two friends just days apart. Even more disturbing, she knows that both of them had received chilling cell phone messages--actual recordings of their own horrifying last moments. Impossibly, the calls were received days before they died, but each death occurred precisely when and how the messages foretold. The police think Beth is delusional--except for Detective Jack Andrews, whose own sister was killed in a freak accident that bears a strange similarity to the deaths of Beth's friends. Together, Jack and Beth work feverishly to unravel the mystery behind the ominous calls. But even as they get closer to the truth, Beth's cell phone begins to ring with an eerie tune, and the readout displays: "One Missed Call."
Robert's and Brett's Review
We hereby dub "One Missed Call" as "One Missed Movie!" We never bothered to go see it because it looks REALLY stupid and we had better things to do. We're changing our format a bit, so instead of us seeing every single wide-release that comes out, we're instead seeing only the ones that we feel like watching (basically all the good ones and popular ones). We've seen so many absolutely terrible and pointless movies in our time because of our previous rule (see all wide-releases) and quite frankly we deserve to VETO certain movies, especially when those movies don't even make it into the Top 10 of whatever week they're released. Some movies are just total wastes of time and we're busy guys who have better things to do. So, we will still see MOST of the new movies that come out (including more limited-releases now that we're picking and choosing what we see), so stay tuned for more good TPR reviews of the popular movies that we're all looking forward to.
Overall Rating: None. Re-Watch Value: None (but we may watch it on DVD if we're really bored one day).

Synopsis: Juno (Ellen Page) is a whip-smart teen confronting an unplanned pregnancy by her classmate Bleeker (Michael Cera). With the help of her hot best friend Leah (Olivia Thirlby), Juno finds her unborn child a "perfect" set of parents: an affluent suburban couple, Mark (Jason Bateman) and Vanessa (Jennifer Garner), longing to adopt. Luckily, Juno has the total support of her parents (Allison Janney and J. K. Simmons) as she faces some tough decisions, flirts with adulthood and ultimately figures out where she belongs.
Robert's Review
"Juno" is a whip-smart drama that's chock-full of dark comedy as well. Ellen Page's performance was top notch and truly a pleasure to watch. Plus, the supporting characters were really enjoyable as well. It was nice seeing Michael Cera again (I loved him in "Superbad"). I thoroughly recommend "Juno" to everyone who loves dark comedy and intelligent family and social drama. Heck, Ellen Page's performance alone is worth the price of admission. The rest is just gravy on the mashed potatoes. Mmm… gravy. So yeah, GO SEE THIS MOVIE! You'll be glad you did!
Overall Rating: 4 Teenage Pregnancies (out of 5). Re-Watch Value: High

Synopsis: In 1935, 13-year-old fledgling writer Briony Tallis (Saoirse Ronan) and her family live a life of wealth and privilege in their enormous mansion. On the warmest day of the year, the country estate takes on an unsettling hothouse atmosphere, stoking Briony's vivid imagination. Robbie Turner (James McAvoy), the educated son of the family's housekeeper, carries a torch for Briony's headstrong older sister Cecilia (Kiera Knightley). Cecilia, he hopes, has comparable feelings; all it will take is one spark for this relationship to combust. When it does, Briony - who has a crush on Robbie - is compelled to interfere, going so far as accusing Robbie of a crime he did not commit. Cecilia and Robbie declare their love for each other, but he is arrested - and with Briony bearing false witness, the course of three lives is changed forever. Briony continues to seek forgiveness for her childhood misdeed. Through a terrible and courageous act of imagination, she finds the path to her uncertain atonement, and to an understanding of the power of enduring love.
Robert's Review
"Atonement" is being nominated for quite a few awards, however I always rate movies based on their entertainment value, not their technical merits. Sure the cinematography is really amazing and there were some exquisite long, continuous, sweeping shots. However, that does not excuse that fact that "Atonement" was painfully slow and boring for a good 3/4 of the movie. I almost fell asleep towards the beginning because nothing was happening. Then I forced myself to stay awake and after about another 30 minutes I almost got up and left because STILL nothing was happening. I forced myself to sit through the entire thing and when it was over I couldn't wait to get out of there. Some of the stuff towards the end was pretty cool to see, but getting to that point was so ridiculously boring that I honestly would've rather walked out, went home and popped in a DVD of something else.
Overall Rating: 2 Atonements (out of 5). Re-Watch Value: NONE (just too slow and boring).

Synopsis: The iconic monsters from the two film franchises wage a brutal battle in an unsuspecting Colorado town.
Robert's Review
There's a reason that every synopsis we've seen on "Aliens vs. Predator – Requiem" is practically devoid of information... the story is totally retarded. It's about a pizza boy who hates his job and gets beat up a lot by the school jocks because he likes the main jock dude's girlfriend. Yeah, I'm being serious… I'm not making this up at all! The aliens and predators are just randomly thrown into this retarded storyline and serve as comic relief almost. Most of the movie it total fluff and it's so terrible that I couldn't help but to laugh at how bad it was. What's even funnier is that all the actors are C-Rate actors who look like B-Rate actors. Every one of them looked like someone more famous… like they all got cast from some celebrity impersonation casting call or something. Overall, this movie sucked royally, but it was so bad that it was actually funny… so at least now you know what you're getting yourself into if you go see this movie… so see it at your own risk and loss of $10.
Overall Rating: 1 Pizza Boy (out of 5). Re-Watch Value: NONE
