  In Glorious Technicolor

A few assorted album reviews here...

"Possessed of a quirky showmanship that nestles somewhere between Ben folds and David Bowie, Paul Jeans is perhaps the most unlikely of show-offs.  In the guise of Jeans goes POP! the Newcastle man sounds possessed of more than the standard pair of arms - knocking out piano melodies while thwacking a bass drum and flitting between microphone and mouth organ.  His odd arrangements never become novelty, however, and he delivers his songs with genuine heartiness."
STOOL PIGEON

'In Glorious Technicolor' is indeed glorious and showcases his breezy way with a piano riff, his unshowy but warm-glow vocals and his mastery of melody. The album is never predictable – he takes tunes around some unexpected but delightful detours"
THE CRACK

"If you own Hunky Dory by David Bowie, this would snuggle in nicely next to it in your CD collection."
SUNDAY SUN

"You need Jeans goes POP in your life...Easily the best release of the month!"
NARC.

"It's safe to say that Jeans goes POP! is a unique artist - Full of originality and wit and sharp enough to dispel the one man band stigma and make it cool as fuck"
SHAM

"a thoroughly impressive debut. In Glorious Technicolor is everything it's title suggests"
ANIMAL RIOT

"a tour de force of jaunty, uplifting and catchy melodies with just the right amount of quirkiness that makes JgP! a maverick of his trade."

I found a few nice reviews whilst scouring the internet

FACT MAGAZINE .co.uk
Frevolution Festival, Newcastle

A particular highlight is Jeans Goes Pop!'s inimitable one man show. Playing keyboards, kick drum, tambourine and kazoo, Paul
Jeans performs beautifully heartfelt pop that should soon see him transfer his considerable local success to a national stage.

BBC TYNE online

The more I see Jeans goes POP! the more impressed I become. His imaginative narratives, quirky stage presence and his enviable gift for delivering outrageously appealing melodies in such a simple way could have me waxing lyrical about him all day.

Easily one of the most imaginative and inventive artists the North East has to offer and clearly full of enigmatic promise. If only there were more singer-songwriters like him. Outstanding.
