yep, it's quiet right now (which is rare haha) and betty and i are just laying around making phone calls..  actually, she's asleep cause that's what she does i guess?  haha ok anywho, WE WE'RE ON THE RADIO!!!  holy cow man!  i realize this may not sound that cool.. but we're the type of band that watches 'that thing you do' together before practice haha.  seriously, i just left a message with the program director at xl1067 thanking him for the spin, and i really feel like we need to capitalize on this opportunity.  what i mean is, we need to blow up those phones and try to make it happen again.  here's the info..

hey friends!

the show at the social is two days away and we are so excited.  we've been going flyer bananas all over town and we're really looking forward to a nice turnout.  ..actually, before i continue, i know it seems like things are quiet over here, but we are very much alive (and still very loud haha).  we've been writing a ton as i mentioned last time, and we moved around the practice space for better..  vibes?  i dont know, im putting a video together of a recent things and i'll try to get it up asap.

speaking of vibes, i have to touch on this brand new stuff..
i mean, it's like three in the morning and i just finished my first pass thru 'daisy'.  it was really something, man.  seriously.  so weird and cool (to me).  i am so proud of all these bands we grew up listening to.  so fresh and tasteful.  thrice is in the same boat.   they're growing up a lot and i find it really cool to follow their progression.

i just realized some might think it's lame to be rambling on about this stuff, but it's what i like, so i dont know.  my b?  haha

it's late.

so ya, if you're free on wednesday night (WEDNESDAY SEPT. 9TH, 2009), we really hope you'll join us at the social for some fun!  there will be lot's of new faces and new music (including a new song we're calling 'bandits and rebels') so come hang and we'll get down to it.

anyway, we're not to worried about it.  we've got this show on the 17th (that's the 17th mind you) and we can't wait.  what was once a jumble is now looking just fine..  and with our show at backbooth on the 26th, august has turned into a fine month indeed.  soldier city legend seems to be doing quite well and we're stoked they asked us to join the fun.

i just wanted to keep you posted on some confusion we've had this month.. haha.


first off, our show on the 16th @ plaza theater is actually our show on the 17th @ plaza theater.  the whole thing has been out of our hands from the start but we're trying to do our friends in vega a favor so we are going to do our thing as usual.  it's unfortunate we haven't been able to promote as we usually would tho.  also, our show on the 13th @ solid sound in pompano has been cancelled.  doubled booked.  just our luck haha.

that being said, the 14th @ the dugout in miami is still on w/ our friends in manhattan roar.  we always like traveling when we can (or are allowed haha) so we can't wait to meet some new faces and hang out for a bit.

you know, the great thing about this life of ours is that it keeps us on our toes..  adaptation is the name of the game at our camp..
exciting times.

anyway, you may have noticed the fancy new layout we've put together..  --actually, WE didn't do anything.  i just annoyed conner while he figured out how to build it himself.  see, that company that built our old site just sort of disappeared, but the conman stepped up and came through with something sharp.  nice work dude!

but ya, lets talk about this new tune!
we call it 'burn it down love' and i think it came out great.  we've been working on a lot of new jams with chris and this is one of about four or five we're tossing around for a new e.p.   maybe like a christmas time thingy?  i dont know.  we're sorting it out..   anyway, we really hope you like it.  you can download it for free and share it with all your friends or whatever you want to do.  that would be cool tho haha.  .. come to think of it, we must have given out a whole box of cds at the summer poolza party (which was the stuff by the way, rainy, but fun.fun) so, if you got one you should burn it and spread it around.  or dont..   you know how it is. haha

i mean dang, what a crazy month.
first of all, FMF was the most fun we've had in a while.  our show went well, our friends did well, i frickin met the guy from rookie of the year.haha.   it just a really good time (despite the rain).  cant wait for next year.


anywho, we've got a ton of stuff going on and i cant focus.  the johns just left for chris.gill house to track guitars and im sitting here trying to do this.  focus haha.   but ya, we're documenting the recording really well and we'll be throwing up some pictures and all that jive in like a week.

totally, and here's why..
on may 14th we are going to be playing fmf @ backbooth for the first time.  this has been a major short term goal for us this year so we are really proud of ourselves and even more excited for everyone else.  so many good bands.  i mean, the whole festival rocks the socks, but our night will be especially delicious.  the royal, quiet science, the still voice, camerae..  i mean frick dudes.  so much fun.

anyways, as i mentioned before, we will be doing some special promotions with our flyers this month so make sure you hang on to one if you see them.  we've got cool new stuff like stickers and posters and we finally have cds to give out without feeling stupid haha. but ya, i'll write more when we get all these orders back and i can breath for a sec.. til then, you should start getting very excited.  asher roth is playing right after us so we can all go chill with him and drink and stuff.   i love college.

anyway, we just just got back from a bit of a bummer in ft myers but were stoked cause its time to focus on the 16th.  this show is going to be rad..    and i know, its all i ever say.. come to this one, dont miss it, blah blah but seriously.  we are taking a new look at expansion and we are determined to get new people out having fun with us.  we were so frickin wired last night coming home that we spent 3 hours hashing out/ranting about our battle plan haha.  it was nuts but we came up with a lot of fun ideas, like contests and give aways and such.  i mean, like i said, just brainstorming, but we're excited to share with you soon. 

we're printing up flyers tonight and we'll be on the offensive until the 16th.
get pumped for this show..   for real.    the royal, manhattan roar (had a blast last night haha), beneath city streets..  its gonna be the shit.
