Turn up the amps, burn the acoustic guitar, add a little swagger and play it like you mean it. That's how.

We've been throwing Things Go Up in our set every now and then it's a great track from Seasick Steve's album Dog House Music. I put this video together from some of the footage of our recording session at Chuckalumba earlier this year.

Once you're done with the video go get hold of a copy of Dog House Music. It's an awesome album and it's everything a blues record should be; raw, painful and from the heart.

Here's the dude himself playing Things Go Up.

Yep, album pre orders are now available for £7 here and there are T-shirts for £8 available in a mass of cosmic colours and sizes here. We're also doing a deal if you buy a CD + T-shirt for £12 if you're thinking about buying both (Guys, Girls).

So you get the album on time orders for Movin On and the combo deal will be sent a couple of days before release date for those in the UK and worldwide orders will be posted a few days before.

There's also another song from the album available to stream from our website right here and if you sign up to our mailing list you'll also be able to download it. In the not too distant future (i.e. a couple of weeks) there will be exclusive content from our June 09 recording session at Chuckalumba made available for those that join the mailing list as well. I just happened to glance at our last.fm page the other day and noticed we'd hit 666 listeners. I'll have to keep my eye out for other interesting stats in the future.....1066 listeners.....2001 listeners....

That's Right!

Our debut album Movin On will be released on 30th October 2009. Prepare yourself for a 10 track, 52 minute epic musical journey of songs about living the good life, fire, growing beards, girls, aliens, loneliness, pirates, love and so much more. It was recorded in June this year under the warm Dorset sunshine with the aid of mead, ale, cider, whiskey, early 90s dance classics, fat sheep, the psychedelic Jungle Book and of course a little bit of Tom Jones.

Check out the website for a new video of the track "Fire" and have a listen to the title track too: http://www.trippywicked.com

yarr

Me and Pete have recorded an acoustic version of Sea Shanty. You can hear it on our ReverbNation profile here, it's the first song in the list or you can click this link to open up a little music player in a new window.

Check it out and let us know what you think.

A little while ago myself and Pete wrote a tune for our awesomely talented friends at Karrot Animation which they have used for their current showreel. We roped in Simon from Ground Dust to help out with some super shuffley brushes and snare too. It's very different from the usual stuff we play though it has had a live airing at a couple of our acoustic gigs.

Check out the Karrot Animation website and it's the music that plays along with the showreel at the top of the page.

Be warned - if you do listen to it you'll be humming the tune ALL DAY LONG!

We are gonna be live n loud 27th May 2009 at South of the Border, Old Street, London. It'll be our last gig in these parts for a little while as we have some plans for June that involve Dorset, Caravans and 16 track tape. Intriguing eh? We are on first so get there earlyish and we'll be blasting out a couple of new songs too.

It's a little short notice I know but I'm sure one or two of you lovely people will be free. A poster is being put together by the talented Mr Mindzap aka Jack and we are going to be giving away 20 of these beauties for free on the night. I'll update this post with the poster as soon as it's ready.

For those that are interested here are some links to the gig...

There are various places all over the internet where you can hear our music and I've listed the best here. They will all be updated with any new music and videos we produce so you'll always be able hear anything that you want.

Places to Hear

Everything is on Last.fm and I would thoroughly recommend heading over there to check us out and then checking out some of the associated artists. It's an awesome service and I use Last.fm a lot for discovering new (and old) music.

All our music is also on ReverbNation which is another great service and they have extra stuff like widgets (see below) that you can grab for yourself and put on your own website if you desire.

Of course we have our stuff on our MySpace and Facebook pages but I doubt anyone uses either of these as their music player of choice. Finally there's iLike if you use this site.

Places to Buy

Lowering the Tone is now on iTunes, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com and a multitude of other digital online stores. If you use another place to buy mp3s then it's probably there. Both iTunes and Amazon sell mp3s DRM free now.
