If you name is in parenthesis it means that I still do not have your official stage name as of yet, and most likely do not have any links for you as well. Which is important as the website will soon be uploaded with performer info. We have less than 30 because this is the first competition, and we wanted to account for any miscalculations that may arrise. Remember, just because you are going early, do not get discouraged. This was a random drawing, and it will not be counted against you if there is not a strong crowd presence early. However, it can't hurt to have your support there early, so get on the horn now. For your supporters.... here is an online code for your fans to save $3 on presale admission. When they go to purchase a ticket, they can type in the promo code SYTYCR. Online admission link is... http://www.showclix.com/shows_listing3.php?event=3680 Here is a general run down of how the evening will unfold. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. Check In: 8pm - 8:45pm Check In is mandatory. If you do not check in, you will not be permitted to perform. Don't be late. Special circumstances may arrise, in which case you have my number. Text 911 if you need an immediate response. Emergencies only please, "I'm running late" is of no concern to me and I'm sure the other contestants will approve of your disqualification. After you have checked in, leave at your own risk. I would strongly advise against not leaving. It will be your responsibility to make sure you are aware of when you will be taking the stage. If I were competing, I would also like to get a good look at my entire competition. There will be a person at the stage steps with a clipboard at all times. If you are unsure if you have time to smoke a cigarette etc... ask. You will only be asked to report to the stage once. If you are not beside the stage when your name is called, you will be skipped and will not compete. You may only have seconds to respond if the person with the clipboard is unsure of your whereabouts. I can not stress how important this fact is, because there is always someone in every show that lets themselves wander or does not believe that they will be skipped. 8:45pm - 9pm Quick briefing and questions period. 9pm - 9:30pm Relax, prepare for the competition. This would be a good time to network. 9:30pm First performer will take the stage. This is going to happen at 9:30 no matter what. If you don't want to perform in front of an empty floor, make sure your support is there. Each performer gets a max of 3 mins. Any performer exceeding their 3 min limit, will be greatly penalized. 12am First round will conclude. Keith Murray will perform. Judges will meet and decide who advances to the second round. 1am Up to 6 audition finalists will be announced and advance to second round, random drawing will determine the order of the final 6. Each of the finalists will then perform 8 mins each. Once again, over 8 mins will be greatly penalized. 2am Final 3 will be chosen and announced to advance to the finals, 1 will receive a $300 audition prize, as well as other donated prizes. Remember, professionalism is a very important judging category. You may have all the skill in the world, but without the right attitude, you will never advance. This goes for the competition, and in life in general. I wish everyone good luck, and we are all very very excited for the competition!

Then support.
Why should I put you in one of my shows, if I've never met you, have never heard any of your cds, never seen you perform live, etc...
Every day I get around 5-10 messages from people looking to perform @ my upcoming shows. Check an older blog to see how many people have performed for me in the past, and add another 20-30 names to that list, and you will see just how many people I have worked with.
So with around 100+ performers in my rolodex, I really don't need anymore contacts.
However, I will say this. That doesn't mean I'm not always looking for more performers though. After supporting and giving many a shot on stage, most of these groups have gone away. Either they don't perform anymore, or they just never come out and support my shows anymore.
With very big shows coming up from the likes of De La Soul, Cypress Hill, etc... You won't want to miss the next chapter. If/when you do come out, talk to me. I may not have long to talk, but I will always give you 5 mins of my time and listen to your cd later on in the week. Don't stop there, that's still not enough. Come to the next show, and then the next. That's when I will ask you to do a show, and only then. If you have performed for me in the past, but haven't seen me in over a year... chances are the reason I'm not contacting you anymore is because I have no idea if you still perform or not. If you still perform, I should be seeing you @ my shows right? Getting texts, emails, etc... about my next show right? If not, now you know.
Hope to see more familiar faces, as well as new ones at my upcoming shows.

Current mood: angsty
Once upon a time music was regarded as a form of art. To some it still is. To others its just a form of entertainment. Today's youth are parented by this entertainment. Whether music or television, society is being driven by those that control what goes over the airwaves and on our television sets. We don't choose how they entertian us, they choose. No longer is the art of music being decided by the masses, its being decided by the few. Often we are force fed clay "artists" who were molded for the soul purpose of making them more money. Companies like Clear Channel do not improve the quality of music. They support it's demise. Right now one of the most popular new artists on the radio is M.I.A. For many of us who hate industry music, we already had all of her albums, especially the one that is getting her radio play now... only we had it 2 years ago. Yes that song is that old. The industry is in trouble. They lost touch with the art form that is music. Now they are scrambling to catch back up. For now they will take the obviously advanced artists in this new wave of music, but soon... they will begin to create artists as well. M.I.A., Santogold, Cool Kids, Wale, Kid Sister, etc are all deserving artists. How long will it be before they make another Nelly. The first person I consider being a 100% industry created rapper. While I am happy the artists that I like, and have booked / worked with in the past are now finally going to make the money they deserve. Another part of me is scared. Scared that the industry will create artists like they are now like the pathetic Soldier Boy, Plies, etc... Thus ruining about the only new music coming out that I can even still stomache other than the occasional Indie Rock groups.
If you think that what Clear Channel has pushed on it's stations for the past decade is still art or worthy of being called music. Then don't bother paying entrance to a museum. You'll be satisfied with the art work at your local chain resteraunt or cheap hotel.

Category: Parties and Nightlife
Alright... I'm going to describe the night as best that I can.
Nick and I both had our different duties on the night. Mine was to drive back and forth from the airport to Skully's, to the costume stores, and restaurants to make sure our DJ's were taken care of. Nick's was to get the party going and make sure the decorations up.
So after I picked Nada and Catch up from their hotel naps, we had some Rossi where Jokers of the Scene met up with us. Food was chronic as always so we walked back to Skully's preparing for debauchery. Nada and I had already planned on getting outta control.
By the time we got to Skully's there were already many people dancing. 100 people had already been clocked at the door... all this by just barely past 11.
Now this is where things start getting interesting.
Even the early crowd was tanked. Didn't matter, the barely legals showed up that way. Mostly in teeny skirted costumes, never noticing their skirts were completely exposing their thongs. Nope... didn't take any pics of that.
So we all start getting tanked to catch up with everyone. Tom a host from Cinci seems somehow obliterated already. Instead of hosting, he's signing karaoke on the mic, much to the dismay of those in attendance. Once we mute the guy the dancing erupts. People are throwing me props towards the Cinci DJ !dentity left and right now. However, Nada requests some minor hype, and the guy is once again on the mic. This time around he is doing much better job and you can tell the guy is trying. I mean, everyone is now going pretty wild and singing. I can only image what it would be like if everyone had a mic as well.
Hottub chicks also begin joining in on the mic shouting, and some dude strips down to his boxers and begins swinging from the stage curtains and hanging speakers before he finds more interesting in humping the floor and air wildly.
Hottub does their thing, with only 1 of the actual members there. There were still 3 of them... just only 1 was a real Hottub. Abrezy I believe her name was, was very cool, hype, fun all that. The other two... mean mean mean!!! One of the girls was so nasty she left a sidekick at the bar at the end of the night, doors are locked, and they wait till she goes home before they admit they found the sidekick. No joke... mean chick had it coming.
So where were we.
Alright, let's skip to Catchdubs. He's up, he's rock'n Nada is jock'n. Girls love that guy I'm serious. This is where it gets wild. Somehow a bottle of raspberry vodka makes its way to the stage and we begin passing it around until it's tanked. Costume party time!
So we gotta get this costume contest going. I mean, costume $$$ is a must. That's BAD on your name to promise $500 and not give it out. Skully is surprisingly drunk cuz he's having a wild time too, but he makes up 6 envelopes for me.
Now it gets tricky. How to stop the music without a riot! The answer that I found out was that you can't. Not with that crowd! So I pull the 6 best that I can see in the crowd up, and attempt to have a vote. They cheered for the first costume... but by the time I said second costume is... the riot began. Nobody would cheer for the contestants, they just wanted Catch to spin. People started throwing plastic cups and it started raining beer and ice. Mini mosh pits erupted in nearly every corner of the room with people demanding the music returned. So I did all that I could... voted on the costumes myself and got that shit back on. However not before losing my keys. That sucked.
So now with the dance party back under way, people regain some sort of civil ness, but the ice continues to rain down on the crowd. People start throwing parts of their costumes and parts of other people's costumes. Fake drawn on tattoos and makeup begin to bleed and run all over everyone's bodies from the beer and liquor showers.
That's where I blacked out. People were dumping drinks down each other's throats and all over each other. I seriously think the outside cash bar got looted because somehow a sea of beer and liquor made its way inside the place. The next thing I knew, the lights were turned on and the door staff was screaming at everyone to get out. Which wasn't working... at all.
We finally got cleared out, settled up, and it was off to the after party's. Nick took a crew to a house party north of campus, I took one to the Gypsy Cafe. That's where I begin to get mum on things. You just had to be there to experience the great times until 5 in the morning. Props to Dinosaur and Dave Espionage for that killer set down in the basement... HUGE props to Gypsy Cafe for letting a wild crowd in there in the first place. I thought they would be mad at us... but exact quote from the manager.. "you guys really know how to party!".

Category: Writing and Poetry
It's been a serious debate lately in my head.
I don't wanna... but it almost seems as if I should.
Then again. I might just make a private profile out there somewhere and give it out just to my close friends. Erase all of my reg pictures on this site... and go back to the old way. When Schoolboy was still faceless.
What do you think? I'd much rather have my name and what I do be known, than my face. Just doesn't seem to be the way it's done this day and age though. Seems like if I blasted my face all over Myspace, on my own posters, and all that lame stuff... there'd be a LOT more people out there who know who I am. Is that really a good thing though? Depends. Since I laugh often at those that use their own face/image to promote themselves instead of their reputation and their actual work, guess that would be hypocritical of me.
Guess I answered my own question. New private profile coming soon.

I'm having a photoshoot here at the end of March. These will be group photos to be used for a future presskit and bio pages. Any ladies wanting their own photos from the photographer, bring an extra change or two of clothing and we'll get you in a quick session as extra incentive. You don't have to, but you can.
Theme for you group's clothing is trendy hip hop / dj. Should be a fun experience, especially for anyone looking to break into modelling as there will be more than one model managers, as well as a photographer or two willing to work with new models.
Just reply back to me, and I'll give you more information as to where and when.
Thanks, James
