Sometimes things don't work out. We - Guns 'n' Bombs - have broken up. Filip will continue to make music as Turbotito and with his bands Ima Robot and Djosos Krost and Johnny has a new project called Deathface.

We want to thank the great fans at Womb in Tokyo, the Trashbags crew in Australia, the cool festival crowd in Portugal, the regulars who went to No Culture in LA, everyone at Skylab in Denver, and a lot more people we're forgetting right now. We'd also like to thank our management, our publicists, and the booking agencies, labels, and groups that we've worked with, as without your effort none of our travel and success would've happened.

As a "parting gift" here's a free MP3 of one of the last songs we did, with vocals from our friend Ricardo:

Thank you!

In the new LA Weekly, we're featured alongside our friends Acid Girls and CLASSIXX:

http://www.laweekly.com/2008-10-30/music/la-39-s-new-robotics-la-riots-guns-n-bombs-caxsio-and-others-are-revolutionizing-the-city-39-s-dance-clubs/

We liked this part especially:

Guns N Bombs, for one, has 20 album-ready tracks in its vault. And with singles out on Kitsuné, Digitalism's French label, the duo of 31-year-old Filip "Turbotito" Nikolic and 25-year-old Johnny "Love" Dal Santo seem poised to break through. At its foam-lined warehouse-loft studio, a stone's throw from the L.A. River downtown, the pair presses play on "Riddle of Steel," due next month via Kitsuné. It's an improvised exploding device full of punklike energy. Trunk-busting bass lines and acidic squelches take over, leading to a drumroll worthy of the Love Parade. Needless to say, the guys think theirs is the sound of success, if only they continue heading back to the future."

Hey, we got sponsored by Korg and they're now featuring us on their website:

Guns'N'Bombs is an LA-based electronic duo formed by Filip Nikolic and John Dal Santo.

Nikolic aka Turbotito (who's also a member of Ima Robot and Djosos Krost) and Dal Santo aka Johnny Love, came up with the idea to start GNB after a party in Chicago in August of '06. Dal Santo then relocated to Los Angeles later that fall. The unsigned group quickly produced two songs, "Nothing Is Getting Us Anywhere" and "Crossover Appeal," and a debut album is currently being worked on. GNB's first single was released in 2007, and they immediately began receiving remix requests. Their treatments of songs by Chromeo, The Teenagers, and The Gossip became popular blog favorites and club staples.

They continue to churn out remixes and originals and Turbotito chose the Korg Zero8 as the mixer that would help him keep the party bangin'. He states, "The Zero8 is amazing! My audio interface died a week ago so i started using the Zero as both audio I/O and MIDI controller…plus, the built-in effects are great while making tracks. I thought I'd only use it for live shows, but it's good for everything!"

Turbotito recently took some time to talk with us more about his music and his favorite new mixer.

Korg: When did you begin your journey as a musician?

Turbotito: When i was a kid, I got a mini violin and a plastic saxophone and that's when it all started. My dad was an obsessed Hi-Fi enthusiast and he would drink a bunch of red wine and play really good records really loud. Later on, when I started collecting records, I ended up buying all the same records that I grew up with and I got a bunch of guitars because I was wanted to be Jimi Hendrix. My first serious band (Ludo X) won the Danish rock championship in 1994, and in 1996, I quit my day job and swore never to get one again.

K: Guns'N'Bombs is gaining a lot of steam but you still play with Ima Robot and Djosos Krost…does that ever get hectic for you? How would you compare performing in each?

T: This year has actually been a little too hectic. Trying to finish three albums at the same time is not easy. I can't wait to be done so I can leave the studio for a while and go into touring mode. The Ima Robot album should be finished in a few days and the Djosos Krost album just needs a few recalls so it's getting pretty close. I'm also really excited about the new Guns'N'Bombs stuff. We have just finished our new single and started rehearsing our new live set, which we are going to premiere at this year's Detour Festival. You can't really compare performing in these different bands and that's something I really like. I've always liked so many different genres of music so it's nice to be able to rock out one day and rave out the next....

K: Do you have any moments from gigging lately that stick out in your head?

T: Both Ima Robot and Guns'N'Bombs played the same gig in Honolulu a few months ago and it was super fun. I think it was the combination of a great gig, awesome beaches, and delicious cocktails that made it so good. That reminds me, I have to put the footage of Alex jumping from the balcony into the crowd onto youtube...

K: What do you like about the Zero8? Any favorite features?

T: I like that the Zero8 does everything. It can be used for so many different things. I use it as a recording interface, a DJ mixer, a MIDI controller, an audio mixer, or all of those things combined. It's definitely the heart of the Guns'N'Bombs live set. Unlike most other mixers, the Zero8 is a performance mixer that you can actually jam with without having to connect tons of external gear.

K: Do you use any other Korg gear?

T: In Ima Robot, we use the microKORG a lot live. It has just become a modern classic. It's little and light but it still manages to sound really big. The design is great too! We also have three vintage miniKORG 700 synths. It is my favorite synth of all time and it really shines through on the new Ima Robot album. The Korg Legacy plugins are great, too. I've always loved the Korg Polysix and I must say that the plugin version is really faithful to the original hardware synth. When traveling, my and Johnny Love's favorite time killer is the Nintendo DS and I hear that Korg is working a MS10 synth for it? Can't wait to play with that!

K: Any current projects or events we should keep an eye out for?

T: There is a lot of stuff going on right now, but definitely look out for Ima Robot, Guns'N'Bombs and Djosos Krost. There are albums coming out from all three groups and I'm really proud of them.
