...and deadlines are approaching. We still have spaces available for camp, and the price is still $425 all-inclusive until September 1st. That'll get you all your classes, activities, food, and lodging - all you have to do is get yourself there and if you're in Texas, you can hook up with your fellow campers and carpool - can you say ROAD TRIP?

If you've been on the fence, there's still time to sign up! I can't express what an amazing experience Dance Camp is - if you've never been, this is a great year to start!

Come to the Camparet!
**Early registration deadline approaching**

Mid-July is perhaps a strange time to be thinking about October (or in the heat of the Texas summer, maybe not), but with Dance Camp just around the corner, I'm dreaming about beautiful fall days (still warm, yes, but not as hot!), bunk decorations, dance, pranks, s'mores, dance, arts&crafts, canoe-ing, dance, crazy girl fun, and yes, more DANCE!

Imagine yourself immersed in dance, surrounded by the beauty of the Texas Hill Country. You wake each morning with a ritual stretch on the green banks of the Guadalupe River. Your days are leisurely paced with morning and afternoon classes and plenty of time for hiking, swimming, shopping, practicing, and relaxing. Your nights are filled with music and dance, with henna, campfires, and with frienships old and new. This is Bahaia's HOT Dance Camp!

The first of its kind in Texas, Bahaia's HOT Dance Camp is held at Camp Arrowhead - a girls' camp in the summer months. The accommodations are rustic, but not primitive. Lodging is provided in community cabins, all wired with electricity. The community baths have private stalls and hot water. Three hearty meals and snacks are provided by the catering staff in the indoor dining hall. Classes are held in a spacious hall with hardwood floors, a raised stage, and a professional sound system. Shows and evening events are held on the river banks and in the dance hall.

The beauty of the Hill Country is breathtaking in October. This is the perfect, serene environment in which to expand your creative horizons and revitalize your passion for dance! Event is limited to 50 campers - don't delay!

Instructors:

Princess Farhana www.princessfarhana.com

Bahaia www.bahaia.com

Tamra Henna www.tamrahennatx.com

Princess Farhana is an amazing teacher, with a ton of information about traditional belly dance, fusion, and burlesque to share with us. We have an AWESOME lineup of classes with all three instructors, including Hollywood Raks Sharqi Combos, stage presence, a class comparing/contrasting belly dance/burlesque movements, finger cymbals, shimmies, floorwork, and fan technique for belly dance fusion (and burlesque).

**The August 1st payment plan deadline is approaching, so reserve your spot today!  Prices go up after August 1st, so don't hesitate, register today!

Current mood:  restless
My raison d'etre for dancing has always been the music. Over the last few years, I've had a wonderful opportunity to perform regularly, but something has been missing.

I NEED to dance to live music - Arabic (style) musicians playing the classics, all of us playing off of, and to, each other, creating something more than just a dance performance...Through the years I've had a few experiences, but not nearly enough to satisfy the hunger.

The problem is this city where I live is a large city, but is very short on musicians who are willing or able to collaborate with local dancers, nor does our Arab community support live music venues.

What to do? There is a void that I must fill...
