If I knew
If I knew it would be the last time that i'd see you fall asleep,
Iwould tuck you in more tight and pray the lord ,your soul to keep.
If I knew it would be the last time I'd see you walk out the door ,
would give you a hug and a kiss and call you back for one more
If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear you voice lifted up in praise,
I would videotape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day
If i knew it would be the last time I could spare an extra minute To stop and say "i love you "
instead of assuming you would KNOW i do
If I knew it would be the last time i would be there to share your day,
Well im sure you'll have many more so i'll let this one slip away
For surly there's always a tomorrow for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance to make everything just right
There will always be a tomorrow to say "I Love You"
And certainly there's another chance to say "Anything I can do?"
But just in case I might be wrong ,and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you and I hope we never forget
Tomorrow is not a promise to Anyone ,young old or alike ,
And Today may be the last day to hold you loved one tight
So If your waitiing on tomorrow why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes, you'll surly regret the day ,
That you didn't take that extra time for a smile, a hug, or a kiss And you were to busy to grant someone
, what turned out to be theirone last wish
So hold on to your loved ones close today , and wisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love htem and you'll always hold them dear.
Its time to say "im sorry" "please forgive me" or "its ok" And if tomorrow never comes,
then you'll have no regrets about today.
- there is no need to say that this is dedicated to my daddy. he passesd away on 12-5-04 when i was in 5th grade. and every word of it is true... so don't take anything for granted... cause one day it may not be there. i love and miss you daddy.
