I am so excited for ikea to open... I'm just bummed it's opening on a Wednesday.  I was totally all set to camp out the night before opening so I could be there when they opened the doors, but now I will have to wait for the first weekend.  I've gotta start working on my shopping list now... hmmm... 

In other news, the Beavers won the baseball college world series for the second year in a row- woo hoo- congratulations to them.  It was a fun season to watch.

Everyone knows with each new year, new words and phrases make their way into our everyday vernacular.  I just thought I'd help good ol' Webster out and give him a few to use.

Bulletin (n) a message sent to all your friends, those you know and those you have never nor will ever meet in your life; used to brag about yourself and your accomplishments and talk about how cool of a person you are

comment whore (n) one who begs and begs and begs again for picture, blog, or general comments; usually asked for in the aforementioned bulletin for a reason that is pretty lame; example: new pic, leave comment; another example: i woke up today- leave comment

space ya (v) when you are going to communicate with someone via myspace, but don't exactly know how it's going to happen, i.e. comment or message or bulletin or blog, so you just say you're gonna space 'em

Tom (n) apparently the most popular person in the world, has like, a gazillion friends

friend (n) once used to describe someone with whom you had close personal bonds with, now loosely used to describe a person who for whatever reason, either they went to the same school as you (10 years earlier, or later) or you like the color of their shirt, or you saw a friends' page with a friend of their cousins' mother and thought they were cool so invited them to be your 'friend', or you simply live in the same city (oh my god, you live in new york city? i do too... it's like we're destined to be), and now is just another number to boost your popularity and make you feel better about yourself

So I'm watching tv and a commerical comes on for orbit gum... it has Snoop Dogg, he goes to hell for his 'dirty mouth' then the orbit lady shows up to 'clean up his mouth' with the gum then he goes to heaven.  OK, so far so good?  When it shows him in heaven, I swear to God I could not make this up if I try, there is a disclaimer that comes on the bottom of the screen that says 'dramatization only. orbit gum cannot get you into heaven.'  Is that not the funniest and saddest thing you've ever heard of in your life!?!  What kind of world do we live in where you have to warn people that gum can't get them into heaven! HELLO!?!?!  I would like to meet the person who thinks that it could.  Now that would be some interesting conversations right there.  Wow, that sure was good for some laughs so i thought I'd share it with everyone.
