Current mood:  imaginative
Vintage Science Fiction moved to a new studio that is based on planet Earth. In this subterranean high tech labroratory they are currently investigating new sounds never heard before to use them on their next album Inner Space. After their extensive journey through outer space on their last album Traveler they are now exploring the depth of human consciousness.

"Like space, human imagination is endless", they explain. "The music on Traveler has been used in television to accompany pictures. Now we are working on an album that will create pictures in the heads of the audience. That′s why we won′t use any vocals on this one. The goal is to create a body of music that leaves total freedom to imagination, not telling anyone what he or she should think or feel."

„Traveler is quite a trip. It combines some of my favourite genres into one package – electronic, dance, retro beats and science and space fantasy. Clearly inspired by the golden age of space travel and science fiction literature and film, it combines these together into a very cool package. It has a great retro sound influenced by the great orchestral sci fi tracks of the past mixed with quirky voice overs and sci fi dialogue, all to a dance beat. It is such a winning combination, retro futurism with dance and electronica. Clearly Vintage Science Fiction is destined for great things !

The CD opens with a traditional grand Science Fiction fanfare and then moves to a more solid dance number with Space Odyssey for Lovers, this has a great Eighties sci fi dance feel mixed with a great retro beat.  While all the tracks are superb, a number stood out in my mind. Traveler, after which the album is named, is a more textured space oriented number with a laid back trance sound, while She has a Spaceship is a great campy dance number which reminded me of Barbarella ! Solitune is a truly accomplished piece with a great textured sound and for me is the very best on the album,  while Infinity, which ends the album, is a superb electronic mellow  melody.

As the first album from Vintage Science Fiction this is an accomplished and innovative album which combines a range of diverse elements including dance, retro, science fiction and fantasy into a truly memorable musical experience which I for one will be regularly listening to..."

Retro-Sci-Fi meets modern Dancefloor on this imaginative journey through time and space. How did we imagine the future in the last century, where are we now and where will we be tomorrow?

One thing is for sure: what used to be Science Fiction in the past has now become reality. Traveler pushes modern recording technology to the edge and at the time keeps the naive charme of last century′s futuristic music. This way Vintage Science Fiction create their own individual sound universe, reflecting orchestral film scores of the 60s and 70s as well as synthesizer music of the 80s and 90s.

The album is available worldwide on CD and as MP3 in several stores like phonector, Amazon, iTunes, CD Baby, etc. To listen to samples of all tracks and to buy, visit www.vintage-science-fiction.com. You can also listen to six tracks in full here at myspace.
