DÏOZ
Biography
The
twin brothers Thierry (bass) and Sébastien (Guitar)
PAULICO met their third complice Cédric LUCAS (Drums)
in October, 1996.
Then
students, the three friends spend more time to play music in the
streets of Nantes instead of studying : Dïoz was born in
December, 1996.

At
first, the music of Dïoz was a mixture of powerful Rock with
Electro tones, but without machines, just a few small sounds from a
made sampler house with an Atari ST and guitar effects . No singing,
simply music.
Very
fast, Sébastien, Thierry and Cédric multiply their musical
listening by varying the styles, what, very fast, developed the sound
of the band.
The
universe remains the same, unique with Jazz touches, strangeness and
a real sampler.
With
this trio, Dïoz made 4 albums :

They
made the first concert parts of The Ex, Blonde Redhead
and Magma.

In
2003, the trio feels the need to have new instruments in order to
bring new colors to its music.
Two
new musicians join the band, two saxophonists: Matthieu PRUAL
and Matthieu LIAIGRE.
These
two men coming from the academy, breathe a side Jazz into the
original Rock of the trio.
Sébastien,
besides its guitar begins singing and playing Farfisa.
The
music is then more and more similar to the
Progressive and psychedelic Jazz-rock of the 70th (King
Crimson, Soft Machine, Franck Zappa, Magma, etc.) with long pieces of
music.
With
this quintet, Dïoz make a new album :
- Reset (2004)

In
2005, the band sees increasing again with Jimmy FETIVEAU's
arrival (Saxophones), Charlotte MERAND (Violin), Baptiste
JOALLAND (Trombone) and Alan REGARDIN (Trumpet).
Matthieu
LIAIGRE as for him leaves Dïoz to live in India.
Then
begin compositions of two big tracks for respectively 40 and 25
minutes entitled "Camping Melody (part 2)"
and "Camping Melody (part
3)".
The
band makes two attempts of recording but in vain. Too difficult
exercise...
These
tracks will exist only in Live.

Today,
Dïoz continues to play in its big formula but also in Trio as
at the beginning.
Sébastien,
Thierry and Cédric work on new compositions more Rock And Roll and
more direct.
